2/16/2021: Message from JC that Tracey Yarborough needed to rehome Bonnie. After all the training it still is not working with Hank. Hank is not accepting her.

“It is with a very heavy heart that I need to tell you after $2500.00 with a trainer things are not working out. Hank is very aggressive when she gets close to me. She is the sweetest girl, but I can’t continue to keep them separated.”

Tracey also stated his father is dying of heart disease and Tracey has to spend a lot of time with him.

Good afternoon,

I wanted to give you an update on Daisey’s first training session.

Larry was easy to work with and gave great instruction. He worked with both Daisey and Molly.

Today was the basics: recall, distance control, claiming the front door, walking, attentiveness, stay/back, boundaries, verbal commands and body language.

I have homework to do with each dog every day. The sibling rivalry will take time to work out. Once we get to where each dog needs to be on their own, we’ll be working through that.

I did see immediate changes in both of them with today’s training. Larry was pleased with the progress with both of them and tailored the training to each ones needs. He described Daisey as a pup who’s rough around the edges but wants to learn and do good. She definitely likes males and she took right to him.

Our next training is March 3 (his schedule is that booked). In the meantime, he gave us plenty to work on every day.

Thank you all for helping with this. Like I said, I see an immediate change in Daisey and we’ll work daily to solidify what we’ve learned.

I just spoke to Heather Heath and had a good conversation with her. They are not in a big rush for a dog, they are willing to wait to get the right fit for their family. They would like a male preferrably not much older than 2. They have a 6 year old male, neutered mixed terrier that is 25 lbs. They lost their Airedale, Watson, last month. Their application said that their dog would be alone for 7 hours daily so we discussed this issue. Normally she works from 8:00-2:30 but her two boys are in and out so any dog would be able to have a potty break. With Covid her husband has been working from home for the last 10 months and Heather is currently working from home because someone at her workplace has the virus.

I called their vets office and both dogs have always been kept up to date with their vaccines and heartworm medications.

I asked her about a home visit and she said she would be comfortable having someone come over and they could see their fenced in area and they could speak outside. I told her that I would put her in touch with someone who could do their home visit.

On a side note she said that both she and her husband would be very interested in helping out with transport if the need comes up in her area.

1/226/2021: John Buffaloe, nephew, will drop Dweezil to North Knox Veterinary Clinic on 1/27/2021 for vaccines and boarding.

North Knox Veterinary Clinic has been sent surrender form and ARG tax exempt letter. I have asked for a npo discount. Boarding is $31/day and he is booked through 2/1/2021.

I was working with Jackie on finalizing the adoption of Beau. I saw the email where it said to contact you. I hope Jackie is okay. She had sent the contract. I have to sign and send in the $400 adoption fee. Before I do that here is the attached vet bill from getting him microchipped. It shows the microchip as $59.50. Do I take that out of the adoption fee or would you rather reimburse? Just let me know.

Hi, Pat,

I spoke with both Mark and Jada Cruse today. It was a good call and they confirmed much of what was in their ATRA application.

They live in a very rural area of TN. The mention in their app that they have 2 acres fully fenced and today told me that they’ve actually just bought 2 acres next door for their oldest daughter (no longer living with the family; she is the first of 3). They are very dedicated to Airedales and spoke with me about their previous ‘dales, Bella and Delta. Delta passed away a few months ago and their current puppy, Stella, who will be 1 YO this coming Tuesday, has been despondent.

They take the dogs with them wherever they go, including Jada taking them (now, just Stella) to her grooming shop. The dogs are crate trained and may or may not be in the crate at the shop. Their dogs past and present often are in their crates without the doors being closed, seeing them as their safe, happy place.

Since they put in their application with ATRA, they have adopted another dog their two teenage daughters fell in love with at a pet store. But, they are interested in fostering if there is a need. And would happily take on a third dog if they fall in love with the foster.

I let them know that as far as I know we don’t have any available ‘dales but I would be updating you on our conversation and if there is a need for a foster in the West TN area, we would have someone come by to do a home visit.

They definitely seem like they would be a good Airedale family and clearly have a love of the breed. The home itself seems like it would be a good family home for a dog.

RE: their grooming business: Humboldt Grooming Palace has a 5-star rating on Google reviews, from 5 reviewers. On Facebook, they have a 4.7 out of 5 rating. Both good signs that they have positive references from others

I just spoke with their vet, Dr. Hicks, and she told me they have indeed been bringing their pups their regularly and that they keep them up to date. She said they would definitely be a good family to either adopt or foster.

So good to hear from you. I wasn’t worried when I hadn’t heard from you. I figured things weren’t going to happened as planned. However it probably has been good that we didn’t rush into getting an Airedale. We have decided not to adopt, however we would love to send a donation to your rescue group. Who should I send a donation to?

I have a wonderful 5 yr old Airedale that I keep when her mom & dad are busy. If we were a few years younger we would love to have an Airedale of our own.
