January 25, 2025 at 3:23 pm in reply to: 25-04 “Bailey” Female, Cumberland TN Foster with Melisa Thompson_adopted 12/25 #32988
Melisa Thompson: My weekend just got a whole lot better! Mandy McLaughlin and myself spent hours trying to rescue this dog Thursday in Rockwood that was off I-40. She was terrified. She would literally eat out of my hand but despite all of our attempts and how quickly she would run , we couldn’t catch her! Danielle who works with a group to trap and rescue dogs called me at 7:30 this morning and had secured “Bailey” (that’s the name I’ve given her). We just got her to my vet and she is safe, warm, and won’t have to scrounge to find food and water! She’s so scared – no telling how long she’s been on the run. She’s got that true Airedale spirit to survive! And yes, she’s been scanned – no microchip… Airedale Rescue is helping this sweet girl and together we are all making sure she’s got the best chance to live a sweet, fun, and happy life!!! 🩷🐾

hi Dana, thanks, we are already thinking about who gets him but we don’t dare tell either of the two ladies who have kept him safe when he has been on the run and then had to turn him back to the shelter. It would break their hearts if they knew he was back again and then had to go back to owner so we are keeping to ourselves until we hear from you on Fri.

I am reaching out about Max, the frequent flyer at our shelter.
His microchip hold ends tomorrow 1/24. His owners are aware that he is at the shelter and have until tomorrow to reclaim him but if they don’t your rescue is more than welcome to take him in if you are still interested in him!January 22, 2025 at 8:43 pm in reply to: 25-03 Clyde Huntley, M-intact, 7 yrs, adopting Maika Palimira #32970Going to vet at Animal Care Center in Winchester TN for shots and boarding. Hello Kimberly,Thanks for your thoughtful email and your research about the bred. Airedales are not for everyone and are very different than a lab or other breeds.
Airedale Rescue Group never knows when or if we will have a young pup. It is rare for an entire litter of very young dogs to come into rescue; it does happen but not often. It is more common for a dog within a year of age to become available.
Either way, the best thing to do is submit an application and get approved to adopt. Then, when a dog becomes available you will be on the waiting list. We can mark your application for a later adoption and reach out when it is closer to your planned time. Here is the link to apply when you are ready:

Hello! My husband and I are hoping to add a puppy to our family this year, thinking an airedale terrier would be a great fit for us.I recently learned about the Airedale rescue and adoption group and found your contact info through the national contact list. We are hoping to add a puppy to our family this fall (ideally in October) and starting to look around at groups we can consider when the time comes. We are specifically looking to adopt a female Airedale who will come home with us as a few week old puppy. I have done some breeder research but would prefer to adopt/rescue if that’s possible.
I know October is months away, but I’d love to know more about how the adoption process works and if there’s anything we should know as we get ready to welcome a puppy into our family. We live in the Raleigh NC area.
Thank you very much! Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

January 16, 2025 at 4:33 pm in reply to: 2025-9 Crosby Michael, Roswell GA, Good fence, 1 dog, ADT exp Adopting Trevor #329511/17/25 Pat spoke with Michael today at appro 11 am. He is ADT experienced and grew up with airedales. He is the son of Susan Crosby. We talked about Nash, and he and Ein plan to meet him at the boarding kennel after returning from their weekend away. Annie, the Staffordshire mix, went through HW treatment, and they are familiar with that process. They have not moved into the new house yet. The fence is being installed today, and a kitchen remodel will be done before they move in. They would not be ready to adopt for 3-4 weeks.
We talked about Spark in foster with Barbara. Pat will send photos of Spark so they can see him.
Vet Ref: Annie is up to date on vaccines, having updated this past Dec 24, and is on monthly Heartgard and Nextguard.
Personal Ref: Not checked due to a relationship with prior adopters and growing up with Blue and Waylon.
Move to HV.

It’s taken me some time to be able to post that our Charlie (the II) crossed the Rainbow Bridge in the early morning hours of his 11th birthday, December 27th. He waited until one of his favorite people, my youngest son, was home from college and he celebrated Christmas as always in the middle of everything. He was dearly loved and is greatly missed. Home seems empty and our hearts are broken, but we are extremely grateful this sweet boy was part of our family. He was our 4th ADT and our 2nd senior rescue and there are no words to explain how special these family members are. We know another Airedale will be part of our family eventually; no other breed would ever do. But right now we are grieving our boy and I am in tears again.😢💔
Send canvas.
