3/10/25 Received text from Stacy Roper:

      Received 3/10

Hi this is Stacy Roper. Tim and I adopted poppy last September and I’m so sorry but she is going to have to be re-homed. Last night she got too excited when a guest arrived and she attacked Ruby, our wire fox terrier. I was able to get Ruby away from her and the vet said Ruby will make a full recovery, but in the process one of my fingers was broken and it’s going to require surgery. We love Poppy so much and are going to miss her terribly but we just can’t keep her. She has learned so much and has become such a wonderful pet. But she is going to need to be placed with a family who doesn’t have other pets.

            to me

            Hi there!

She sounds lovely! You may remember that my husband lives in Charleston and me in Greenville. We’re looking at a house to bring him up here, but we have a lot of financial things to consider/change. So I’m probably a no on any possible rescues for six months in light of this new development.

Please feel free to keep sending me options! But I anticipate it would be another 6 months before I could adopt anyone. But the new house has 6 acres, so if we are able to get the house, we could maybe get more than one (I hope!)?

            Thank you!

            Lynnley

              Good evening Pat,

I have been very fortunate to have purchased an 8-month-old Airedale.

              I appreciate your consideration.

              Best regards,
              Roy

                Email received 3/2/25:

                Greetings,
We hope this email finds you well.

We are reaching out because we have a three-year-old Airedale Terrier named Gabby whom we rescued in June 2025. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, she has had several aggressive incidents with our female lab and we’ve been advised to find her a new home.

Outside of this issue, Gabby is a wonderful dog. She is friendly with people, including children, and has gotten along well with other dogs. She is house-trained, learning basic commands, and is familiar with clicker training. Currently, we are keeping our two dogs separated, but this is not a sustainable long-term solution.

We are looking for a responsible and experienced adopter or rescue. My husband and I have a few weeks off and are willing to travel to ensure we can find the right fit for Gabby.

Thank you for your time and we look forward to hearing from you,

                Sarah and Rick

                  Good evening Pat,

I recently lost my Airedale “Jack,” which I have owned for 11 years. I am considering adopting an adult male Airedale as my next companion.

I look forward to hearing from you. I left you a voicemail earlier today.

                  Thank you,
                  Roy

Message: Just wanted to let your ARG know that we had to put Opie down this week. We adopted him from you on April 2022. He had been having problems with back legs for a few weeks, having difficulty walkiing. Had CAT scan done but nothing showed up in legs, Tuesday he couldnt stand up at all. Took him to vet and he said leg muscles more atropied than a few days prior and he felt it wasnt a good outcome. Made the hard choice to put him down. Autopsy done and he had cancer everywhere-lungs, heart, spine, stomache and leg muscles. Made us feel better that was the right choice. This was our third Airedale that had cancer everywhere and showed no signs. Seems like this might be a breed problem and potential adoptees hopefully are being made aware of this as well as their vets. Opie gave us so much joy and will be very sorely missed. Thanks for all your group does for this great breed.

                                  to Kelly, Christina, me, Beth

George and I had our home visit with Sean Treadaway this morning. We would definitely approve him and his home.

He lives by himself and works from home for Microsoft support. He lives in a very nice gated townhome about a mile from downtown Marietta.
He is a very active professional in good shape. A former marathon runner. Now just hikes.

He had pictures all over and on his refrigerator of his Airedale that he had from three months that just passed at 12 this last November. You can tell he is still grieving.

His home is typical of a bachelor. Modern and not extravagant. Well kept and clean. Stone floors with rugs. The town homes are gated with about 4-5 individual buildings. None of the units have private fences but the entires property is gated.
You go into his building and then into his home. HOA prohibits unleashed dogs. Neighbors sent him condolences after his Cowboy passed when they realized they didn’t see him walking him anymore and word got around. We saw a note from a neighbor. He has lived in this townhome since before he got. Cowboy.

We are happy to approve him and hope to keep in touch with him after his adoption. We go the dog park that is across the street from his townhome.

Feel free to reach out to us with any questions and please let us know how things progress. We are so happy to be able to help out with this process and don’t hesitate to call for our help again.
