to meHello,
My name is Tim Hartney and I recently retired from an airline and now have the time to hopefully assist with rescuing Airedales. I live near Morganton NC and have had several Airedales over the years but none recently due to a busy traveling schedule. Now that I’m retired, I won’t be traveling much, so having a doggie around the house will be possible.
Presently, my house lacks a fenced yard. I plan to install one this spring or summer so I doubt I would qualify for fostering or adoption until then, but I may be able to help with transporting adopted dogs to their forever homes in the meantime. My main question is: Are kennels required for transporting? My current vehicle is a 2 door Civic which is not big enough to contain an Airedale sized kennel, but if use of a kennel isn’t required, there is definitely enough room for an good sized dog and I would love to help in getting a dog where they need to go.
Once the fence is installed, I plan on putting in an official adoption application.
Anyway, here’s my contact information; Tim Hartney, 8310 Wards Gap Rd, Connelly Springs NC, 28612. Cell: 217-549-2708
Have a great day!
Tim

to Christina, meOh my goodness, he is adorable! And it would be absolutely perfect to have a smaller companion for Willow. We have a Halo electronic fence, which works beautifully for Willow, my female. If you all think that he is trainable on an invisible fence, I’d love to have him!

Hi Laura, I am a volunteer with Airedale Rescue Group (ARG) and I am happy that you met Ellen this weekend! You are an approved Airedale home for ARG! When I looked at your application I wanted to write to you because I also had a Gerardo ‘dale! I lived in Raleigh area and I knew Gerardo for years and I was so fortunate to have a male ‘dale of his who was the very best! Such a sweet, easy guy – and so handsome.ARG has a very small Airedale or Welsh ‘dale that came into our care last week. He is in Greer, SC. He was found chasing cars on the highway. It’s been 1 week+ and not a soul has come forward for him. ARG has vetted him for initial vaccines and the vet estimated him to be about 1 year old. Here’s the thing – he is 28 lbs! SO, clearly he is a small ‘dale or a Welsh. He has fostered with one of our nearby families who kept him safe while we held him for the stray hold. He plays so nicely with their female ‘dale – lots of playing and chasing.
The problem is their fence is built for a standard ‘dale and the little guy escapes. Maybe that is how/why he became a stray to begin with! They cannot keep him safe any longer due to the escapes.
He would do best in a home with more secure fence and/or leash walker.
Would you be interested in adopting a small ‘dale? Are you all ready? If you are not quite ready or really want a full sized ‘dale – I get that too. Please let me know thanks!

to mehi Pat
Sean and I spoke this morning. He visited Dogma on Saturday. Sean said he did not think it would be a good fit for a few reasons. First, he said that Nash did not take to him at all – he seems really receptive to women but paid no attention to Sean. Sean said that there are likely other reasons for this – the environment, who Nash knows at the boarding facility and his overall expectation of how his own dog reacted to him.He mentioned that his stool was covered in blood – that must have been why you received an ask to authorize a vet to see Nash.
Sean said that Nash is severely over weight.
He has some type of scar (?) that looks like he had a recent surgery on his neck.He said that Nash is very reactive – he observed this when walking him at Dogma. He asked staff how is he when he is alone and they said he barks.
Sean said that in his condo – it would not work for the barking and also he said a lot of elderly people live in his condo complex with little dogs and he thinks it would cause problems.

Subject: Nash – meetingSuzanne,
We have a potential adopter who would like to meet Nash. He is a former Airedale owner who has been approved for adoption through ARG.
Sean Treadway is the person. He is available between 4 and 7 p.m., if that is possible. If not, perhaps he can call to arrange a time that would work.
Sean – Nash is at Dogma Dog Care, 4790 Wright Drive, Smyrna, GA 30082

Hello, Peter. I will be the one to do your home visit. I want to schedule a time when everyone is home. Since you have teenage daughters, Saturday or Sunday might be the best time, unless they are home-schooled. I live in Midtown Memphis and would prefer not to drive to Collierville after school hours.Let me know a good time for you and your family and I’ll try to accommodate you.
I look forward to meeting you and your family.

I just spoke with Peter and he sounds like a great potential owner.Pat, if we can go over the website again, i’ll put in the notes. He does have a cat and a frequent visiting Chihuahua so those things would need to be taken in to account but otherwise it seems like he would provide a great situation for a dale.
Jackie, if you are going to do a home visit, the beat way to make initial contact is by text.

Melisa will take her home and foster if she does well with Sophia. She may consider adopting.
