Good evening Pat,
I have been very fortunate to have purchased an 8-month-old Airedale.
I appreciate your consideration.
Best regards,

Greetings,
We hope this email finds you well.We are reaching out because we have a three-year-old Airedale Terrier named Gabby whom we rescued in June 2025. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, she has had several aggressive incidents with our female lab and we’ve been advised to find her a new home.
Outside of this issue, Gabby is a wonderful dog. She is friendly with people, including children, and has gotten along well with other dogs. She is house-trained, learning basic commands, and is familiar with clicker training. Currently, we are keeping our two dogs separated, but this is not a sustainable long-term solution.
We are looking for a responsible and experienced adopter or rescue. My husband and I have a few weeks off and are willing to travel to ensure we can find the right fit for Gabby.
Thank you for your time and we look forward to hearing from you,
Sarah and Rick

to infoGood evening Pat,
I recently lost my Airedale “Jack,” which I have owned for 11 years. I am considering adopting an adult male Airedale as my next companion.
I look forward to hearing from you. I left you a voicemail earlier today.
Thank you,
Roy

Message: Just wanted to let your ARG know that we had to put Opie down this week. We adopted him from you on April 2022. He had been having problems with back legs for a few weeks, having difficulty walkiing. Had CAT scan done but nothing showed up in legs, Tuesday he couldnt stand up at all. Took him to vet and he said leg muscles more atropied than a few days prior and he felt it wasnt a good outcome. Made the hard choice to put him down. Autopsy done and he had cancer everywhere-lungs, heart, spine, stomache and leg muscles. Made us feel better that was the right choice. This was our third Airedale that had cancer everywhere and showed no signs. Seems like this might be a breed problem and potential adoptees hopefully are being made aware of this as well as their vets. Opie gave us so much joy and will be very sorely missed. Thanks for all your group does for this great breed.February 22, 2025 at 11:44 am in reply to: 25-08 2023_2025 Woody nee Max, Dekalb County Animal Services #33123Christina texting Julia Slenker

to Kelly, Christina, me, BethGeorge and I had our home visit with Sean Treadaway this morning. We would definitely approve him and his home.
He lives by himself and works from home for Microsoft support. He lives in a very nice gated townhome about a mile from downtown Marietta.
He is a very active professional in good shape. A former marathon runner. Now just hikes. He had pictures all over and on his refrigerator of his Airedale that he had from three months that just passed at 12 this last November. You can tell he is still grieving.
His home is typical of a bachelor. Modern and not extravagant. Well kept and clean. Stone floors with rugs. The town homes are gated with about 4-5 individual buildings. None of the units have private fences but the entires property is gated.
You go into his building and then into his home. HOA prohibits unleashed dogs. Neighbors sent him condolences after his Cowboy passed when they realized they didn’t see him walking him anymore and word got around. We saw a note from a neighbor. He has lived in this townhome since before he got. Cowboy. We are happy to approve him and hope to keep in touch with him after his adoption. We go the dog park that is across the street from his townhome.
Feel free to reach out to us with any questions and please let us know how things progress. We are so happy to be able to help out with this process and don’t hesitate to call for our help again.

Hi all!
Well it’s early morning on Sunday and Nash is feeling quite at home but still pretty clingy (more than understandable!). He slept pretty well but decided to get me up shortly after 6, which was actually good timing because we got out to potty just ahead of the heavy rain.
Yesterday late afternoon, I decided to see if he was hungry (I have absolutely no idea what his feeding schedule is), and Mr “picky eater” absolutely gobbled up a cup of his dry food that I embellished with some low sodium beef broth. I plan on giving him a cup or so twice a day to begin with, along with a reasonable number of treats as we do some general training. I want to insure that he’s operating with a bit of a calorie deficit but still getting enough nutrition. He’s good at “sit” if he knows there’s a treat involved and I got him to lie down once, but he needs work on “stay. In general, though, he’s SUPER well behaved. I have yet to hear a full-on bark, but when he gets excited (he anticipates a treat) he lets out a happy “almost bark” and that’s only been once or twice. He’s really good on the leash with just a bit of mild pulling and he changes direction with only some gentle persuasion and “over here” commands.
Not too surprisingly, he does get winded pretty easily. I presume this is from a combination of coming off of the heartworm treatment combined with his being a bit overweight. We’ll be gradually adding a bit of distance to our walks once the weather dries up a bit, and once the fence is complete, I’ll allow some brief amount of running. Yesterday, we did about a block worth of slow walking and that was obviously enough. I know this weight loss/stamina building shouldn’t be rushed so I’ll kind of let him set the pace within reason.
Well, that’s it for now. I’ll send updates as he progresses.
February 13, 2025 at 3:54 pm in reply to: 2025-13 Tim Hartney, Connelly Springs NC, ADT Exp, no fence, retired adopted NASH #330762/8/25: Jo-Anne called me to discuss Tim and what a good candidate he was. With a need to get Nash out of boarding, I called and spoke with time. Based on the 2 of us interviewing him, plus his prior experience with ATRA as a foster, transporter and adopter, the HV was waived. Tim is actively working on the fence for the yard. He agreed to foster Nash.
Nash will be transported on 2/15/25.

Pat,
I am extremely late in sharing some good news regarding Chris and Robin Colman. They were very interested in a 5.5/6 year old female Airedale that we had available for adoption and after several conversations, they decided they wanted to adopt her. They adopted her shortly before Shiloh passed away. She was good with Shiloh and is helping them as they grieve her passing.I apologize for not letting you know sooner but the past few months have been more hectic than usual on both the work and personal front.
Thank you,
Melinda
