Sunshine crossed the Rainbow Bridge today around 2 pm. We will miss this beautiful feisty girl. She stole our hearts in just 90 days 💔♥️☀️. She declined rapidly in 72 hrs. I slept on the floor with her most of last night. She could not stand, would not eat, shallow abdomen breathing and pale gums. It was time.
Our hearts are shattered. She was so easy to love.7/14/23 Owner changed mind and did not give Bentley to ARG. Don’t really know what happened. Suspect dog given

Re: Joseph Scott
He doesn’t seem too forthcoming as when I called his reference it ended up being his wife. I asked her to contact him re: a need for non relative reference as he wasn’t my responding to my attempts to reach him.
Also, the wife in describing their 5 y/o sounds like he has some emotional development issues. My gut says that they’re a “no go”. I can see a dog coming back to us. He works full time. Said he was now employed as a civilian. Wife says he’s going to retire soon from the military…so which is it???!!!! She’s active duty & home 1x/mo. with her Jack Russel. I just don’t think it’s a good place for one of our ‘dales. What do you think?Sent from my iPhone

You would have to be willing to drive to York SC to do an introduction based on the fosters availability. We don’t often do not have an chance for an introduction before an adoption.
If the dogs did well together, you could return to Wilmington with River. River’s adoption fee is $400.
She is currently not spayed and will be required to be spayed which ARG will pay for. The adoption agreement would state such.

We have a 8 month old female Airedale in Foster care in SC. We got her about a. month ago and her name is River.
She has some GI issues when we first got her but we vetted her and switched her food to Purina Pro sensitive stomach and skin lamb which she is doing well on. Like any young Airedale she is energetic and needs a dog to play with. The foster has 2 old dogs, one very senior, and River is just too much.
I can contact you with the foster
mom so you can chat with her. Here are her details. Photos attached.

Hi there – wanted to give an update. River is doing good, eating a tad better (slower) but still wanting to hog food down. Her stools have been good; feeding a rice, pumpkin, and puppy food mixture still. She always wants to play, and is eager for attention. 😊
The bad news – as much as we want to keep her, I don’t think we can. Our dogs, especially Lilly, are not adjusting well. River has a lot of energy and I don’t think we are the right fit for her now. We didn’t think our dogs would react negatively. At the time, we can’t give the right attention to all 3 that they need. River has so many great qualities and if it was just her with us, we would keep her. I’m sure it would get better with time but they are all too much for us right now. Jay is really upset, as he hates to “pass her along” but I know it will be better for her.
I know it will take time to make plans for her – please let me know what we can do to help. We are free the next few weekends (I know one is a holiday). July 13th I’ll be going to Wrightsville for work – through Sunday. I’m sorry to not keep her but I want the best for her, and also thought we would be able to make it work. 😕

June 9, 2023 at 4:58 pm in reply to: 23-13 Sammy, Male-intact 11 months REHOMED BY OWNER- Deceased #307016/5/2023: Sammy has tetralogy of fallot which is multiple birth defects of the heart. The birth defects include four heart abnormalities: right ventricular hypertrophy (thickening of heart muscle on right ventricle), an overriding aorta, pulmonic stenosis (obstruction of blood flow through the pulmonary valve) and a the hole between the two ventricles (technically known as the ventricular septal defect). His life expectancy is less than one year. The NC State vet recommends no medications as he appears to be managing. Limited walks, limit interactions with other dogs, no vaccines. Obviously no neutering or repair of the hernia.
I suggested the family talk and talk with their local vet that saw Sammy.
Today, I received a message that they let the pup cross the Rainbow Bridge. Honestly, it had to be the most difficult but humane decision.
I am incredibly sad for this family. I did promise her ARG would adopt her when their hearts were ready. I hope it will not be long. I think they need a young pup to help their shattered hearts begin to heal.June 8, 2023 at 12:42 am in reply to: 2023, 2022 Shelly (deceased) & John Browne, Kennesaw GA, Good fence, ADT Exp, 1-2 hrs, no pets Adopting Boone? #306886/6/2023
