Pat,
No hurry. We rotate the two dogs from crate to being loose so both get to be with us and run in the back yard. This is almost Christmas and I certainly don’t want to upset anyone’s plans. We are fine with Sam here, waiting until after the New Year is fine. We do enjoy playing and loving on him, he is a fuzzy cutie.

I am so very sorry that has happened. I know how scary that can be.
Do you think you can get through the next couple of days? Keep Jack kenneled if you need to and alternative time in/out for the 2 of them keeping them separated.
I have several families waiting to adopt. But the one I would really like is not back until 1/3/24! I know you cannot wait that long.
Let me know and we can see if Chris Lincoln can step up and get him into boarding on Tuesday. She is the closest to you in location.

Hi!I’m still here! My husband was hacked last week and this is the first time I have done anything online in a week. No TV, no computers, no cell phones….
AND the phone lines were cut by the new phone company putting in fiber optics.
We live on a dirt road and the lines are underground next to the dirt road and cross the road occasionally. Hubby changed passwords, locked all credit cards, closed accounts….etc. I won’t bore you with all the details. I gently teased him the vacuum and washer might be infected as well. He is nothing if not careful.That is the reason I couldn’t email you concerning Jack. My lab, Henry, decided he was tired of being harassed and jumped on, so he started a dog fight. I was here alone and couldn’t get them apart. I drug the two of them to Jack’s crate (they were attached).
I did finally get Jack in his crate. Jack goes ballistic anytime Henry is close, so I keep them separated. Pat, I was scared to death, they were tearing into each other.
Up till then the two of them were just fine. Incredibly, there were no injuries on either dog. Jack still gets along with my other dogs just fine.Jack is the sweetest most loveable dog, just too rowdy for my pack. As much as I want to, we just can’t adopt him. I still would like to adopt but an older more settled dog would be better for us. We love the boy, when he gets out of his puppy stage and calms down he will be an amazing dog.

12/17/23 called and talked to Smith’s about Walter. Moving to fast and schedule through holidays are busy. Not sure they can work him into their plans.

From Alysha this morning;
All of his internal organs and labs seem to be normal but his muscular skeletal has significant issues. His left hip is deformed. Looks like it recovered from an old injury. His spine has several vertebrae surfaces at the disc that are inflamed. Severe arthritis.
There is some meds to help with the inflammation and arthritis, but you can’t mix that with heartworm pre treatment.
He ate good last night and this morning. He’s drinking water. He took his medicine. I put it in pill pockets and just put it in his food and he ate it. He slept good last night. He shows no food aggression. I can pet him while he’s eating and one of my dogs was around him when eating.
He wondered the yard with my dogs this morning and did good. Now he’s taking a nap.

I believe I am only missing the home check?. I’m about 2 hours from Columbia. I live in the Salisbury, NC area. Let me know if I may assist.

He is going to take quite a bit of care. Tender Loving Care sounds like a big part. Both volunteers sad he is sweet.
Gina: He looks like a sweetheart 💕! Poor thang! Yeah, my timing wasnt great either with the holidays. I ended up putting a deposit down on a puppy, but he’s not due to be born until January. I’d be more than happy to help this sweet boy and help him get the home he deserves ❤️
Lee Gregory will pick up Duncan at shelter and take to Garners Ferry Animal Hospital for vetting.
Alysha Murphy will meet Bill to take Duncan and foster overnight. Need to find a place for Duncan for further evaluation and longer term foster to neuter and treat for HW.
David and Lori Klotz to do HV >>>>>spoke with Pat and she contatcted David letting him know that I had found someone to do the HV.
Vet referecne for the Danieley’s: Up to date on all vaccines. Tech I spoke with was not familiar with Coco. No red flags on chart.

I am so happy that Boone is used to some raw diet along with his kibble and look forward to continuing a healthy diet for him (one of my personal passions).
– Are you currently feeding him from elevated bowls? Would you recommend a slow feeding dish for him since you mentioned that he’s got a voracious appetite? I would like to continue to use something similar to your feeding set up to help him with his transition.
– You had mentioned the Nutro Gold supplement – is he currently on any other supplements?We’ve just ordered a 42 inch crate so I’m glad it lines up to the size he’s currently using. Does he have any anxiety while in his crate if he doesn’t see/hear people, or is he quite content to be by himself in a quiet place in his crate during rest times? Also, how long is he usually in his crate overnight (in case he has an active bladder/bowels)?
The lead and collar you have mentioned were not around when we trained our pups, so I am very interested in learning about this method from you next weekend. This method seems to be such an improvement from the traditional choke chain training methods from 20 years ago, which I felt didn’t align well with our terrier’s mindsets and tendencies. Very insightful videos- thanks for sharing and we can’t wait to practice these techniques with Boone!
