We have a young male Airedale in TN that is in need of a loving home. He was abandoned, found chained at a home when a realtor went to take photos of a vacant property. He has received veterinary care, and I am waiting for the records. He will need to be neutered and microchipped. Monty is timid and will pancake to the ground with a sudden movement, but is improving. He needs a home with well-adjusted dogs to help him become more adjusted.
Monty is considered a flight risk due to his timid nature. He is crate trained and will bring toys into the crate and lie there with the door open. Therefore, a crate is essential to his well-being and sense of security. He does best in a scheduled environment, with a specific time in the morning for potty training and then eating.
The woman who has been caring for him is a groomer, so Month has a very nice haircut. Monty is 70 pounds, he will need to be neutered and therefore ARG will do a foster to adopt agreement. Photos attached.

Why are you surrendering this Airedale? Please be specific as this helps us finding a foster and adopting the dog. I took this dog in for a man that could not care for the dog after finding the dog abandoned at an empty house. I have had the dog for 4 months. I have been putting weight and rehabilitated him into a structured place. Monty has some confidence and trust issues and really needs his own person. This dog has NEVER offered to be aggressive. Just unsure and needs guidance.

Dogs best qualities or unknown for found dogs: He is a fantastic dog. He has just now got to the point where he’s ready to find his forever home. I have been having a hard time finding him a home myself due to finding the correct adjustment for him.
Dogs worst qualities unknown for found dogs: He is a counter surfer. And he howls when we get home. Not a bad quality to me but may be to someone else.
Has Airedale received any obedience training? If yes, please describe. He does know sit. And the word “kennel”
He loves his kennel as it is his safe space.
I have been taking it extremely slow with him as too much pressure is way too much for him.

We have a 7 yr old female, spayed Airedale in SC that we need to get into a new home. The man who has her is hospitalized and does not know how long he will be. His sister is doing her best to care for her but Charlie needs a home quickly.
Currently she lives with one male Airedale and does well with him, but she can be picky about other dogs she likes.
She is not tolerant of small children (grumbles at them), but has done well with a teenager. She is fearful of thunder and loud noises such as gunfire. She would do well with another dog as she lived with a male Airedale. She does great alone in the home and prefers a fenced yard to romp and play. She does not like small dogs or c-a-t-s!
Charlie is spayed and up to date on vaccines. She has been in HW preventative. Her adoption fee is $300 based on her age.
Please let us know if you would be interested in giving Charlie her new home.

hi Aimee and Kevin, Thank you for formally submitting the application. It was necessary since when you adopted Clyde, you had moved and we wanted all of your updated information. You are formally approved and activated again! I am really happy to hear back from former adopters.
Duchess is available! We would like to formally offer Duchess to you. As you know, its a transition period when you adopt a new ‘dale into the family and Duchess may need to be crated when you are at work.
Duchess is in Blue Ridge GA so let me look at a transport plan. When would you be able to add her to your family?

Good evening,
I just saw your post on Miss Dazzle in Georgia and we are very interested. We previously adopted through ARG back in 2009. We were blessed to have Clyde with us for seven years until the age of 14. We recently lost our Airedale, Brett, who we rescued at the age of nine and he was 14 when he passed a way.
We now live near Charleston, SC and are looking to rescue again. We have a wood fenced in yard and live in a quiet suburb of Charleston. Should we go ahead and complete an application with our updated information?

This is the information we have on Duchess.
We have a 6 yr old female in GA that was just surrendered. She is with an older couple who can’t manage her anymore. They have kept her outside in a large enclosure, but she is indoors overnight and confined to a crate. She is not spayed and needs to be updated on shots ,which ARG will pay for once in a new home. She also needs grooming. She weighs about 55 lbs, and is on heartworm prevention.
She is a more independent girl. She walks ok on a leash but gets distracted easily and needs some work. She is being fed Diamond Naturals, and she does have a sensitive stomach. She is crate-trained and sleeps in her crate at night. Duchess will benefit from training and having someone to interact more.
The couple who have her took her from a breeder who was retiring due to illness. They have had her a year.
Duchess will be placed with a foster-to-adopt agreement because we need to update her vaccinations and spay her. Airedale Rescue covers the costs.
Since we have not heard from the other person we offered Duchess to, she is yours if you want to foster to adopt.

9/15/25 Talked with Callie
Monty is less than 2 yrs old. He was found at an abandoned property chained with another dog. Very timid and underweight. He will pancake to the ground if yelled at. The person that took him had a dog that was not friendly, so that did not help.
Callie, the woman that has him, works for a vet and is a trainer. She took him and has worked with him and had him vetted, all but neutering. He loves his crate, which is an airline type. He has come a long way and will walk on leash, does know sit. He is a counter surfer and while she can correct him, he is too tender, behaviorally, to do so right now.
She feels he needs a quiet home with another balanced dog.
9/14/25 at 8:28 pm Et Mary called. Samson started vomiting and became lethargic. They took him to the ER. He had a heart attack. They had to let him go.
I am beyond sad. Mary was going to call Cassie.

He has no problem just lying down & chilling – very nice.
Eating, pooping, & taking meds as prescribed.We did a 3-step introduction to our Airedale – neutral ground first, then short walk to our yard, then inside our house to explore (toys, bowls, beds put away). After initial reactions- tempered with treats to focus attention on us – they’ve been curious & tail wagging’.

Still screaming on and off, but we had a better night last night. First time he’s come up to me for interactionAlso side note, def not house trained. He’s not very good and holding bladder, he’ll pee after like 2 hrs in the crate. So will try and work on that with him too 🥲
