I would like to activate our application again with arg. What do I need to do? We need a family friendly dale as we have 2 girls ages 5 &8. Preferably house trained and has some obedience. It doesn’t matter if it is make or female. Probably a dale who is 4 or older.

Subject: Zeus adopted 5/25/12
I am the original owner of Zeus and was searching for him. In the process I learned that he has been adopted into a wonderful home. I do have access to his medical records which may be helpful. I was a vet tech and he was well taken care of as far as his skin condition was. He was fed high quality holistic food, groomed and bathed with special shampoo, steroid shots, antibiotics and so forth. Everything was a temporary fix as his genetics caused this. I purchased him from a breeder that had nothing but skin issues in all the lineage which common sense would tell you to quit breeding. I didn’t appreciate the derogatory remarks directed towards myself but it is what it is. when the economy tanked leaving our family jobless and homeless and I did the best thing for him at the time.
If you would like the information please email and I will be happy to pass it on. He is going on 8years soon and not a day goes by that I don’t think about him. Thank you for your time.

Thank you sooo much. Don and I were just saying this morning that we have overwhelmed him with affection too soon maybe. We decided to let him come to us now. And yes, we were mostly worried about Annabelle inviting Bo into the family and she did splendidly. Will heed your advice for sure. Fingers crossed.

As to being growly with the humans, and I know I am offering opinion/advice from afar:
He may be feeling crowded.
As tempting as it is to love up on the new dog, it can be perceived as a threat when he is still sorting out and coming to understand what has happened.
Let him come to you on his own terms. Go about your regular routine.
Sit on the floor or low chair. Ignore him. No approaching looking tall, make yourself seem small. No sudden movements.
With skittish new “foster kids” I would sit and read aloud, making comments in a low calm voice. He may decide to approach and nudge, asking for a pat.
Continue to encourage Annabelle’s welcome- to- the -pack behavior.
I know others will have more good ideas.

Bo was a little unsettled last night, but he will figure that all out soon I’m sure. He’s great 99% of the time so far, BUT he has growled at all of us during a pat or a hug now and it’s quite scary. At first it was just when he had his green snake in his mouth which is fine,but he’s also now done it with nothing around to guard. Marti, did you have this with him in the beginning? I know you said he changed a lot in the few weeks you had him and I’m sure he just needs some time. We are just being a little more cautious getting our faces close to his for now. My 16 year old son who is sooo excited about Bo has not been able to get close to him at all as he elicits a growl almost every time now..

We are on for Saturday for Rex’s transport! Kelsia I have a volunteer who will meet you at the Al/Ga border. He is a 3x ARG adopter over the past 12 years that ARG has been around – nice man. I will put together a sheet that will have details – times, exits, exact meeting spots(I usually use a Cracker Barrel or hotel – places right off the interstate). Health notes: our vet advised against the vitamin D –said he was getting plenty in fortified kibble (Fromms) and vitamins and too much was a bad thing, so we stopped giving him that. I never gave him the coconut stuff and if I were keeping him and making his health decisions, I never would. Since the “treats” she sent along with him were greasy fried somethings, and greasy sausage, and he was overweight,my inclination would be to never again let him eat anything that is 100% fat and 130 calories a tbs. I think there’s good cause to worry about what she’s done to his heart and arteries. But I’ll send it along in case you want it for your guys. I never did figure out what the tumeric was for.
She sent him with 5 mg of melatonin which is a control/cure for alopecia. Peach is on it too as is the Berry’s Abby. But they, and every other dog I know taking it, are on 3mg and I frankly think his ditsy owner just got careless and bought 5. I bought a new bottle for each of them (Peach and Bo) the other day and i think I am going to send you with the 3 mg and I am going to keep the 5 mg and either return it or split the tablets in half for Peach.
She also sent him with glass mixing bowls for food and water which didn’t even fit in his food stands so I am sending him with new bowls.
And along with a Harley jacket, he came with a wide leather collar which was I couldn’t adjust. Thus he is wearing Pubby’s favorite collar and leash. I hope it brings him Pubby’s long life and ebullient happiness.
Again, if you think the chances greater than 50% that he’ll wind up on this end of our territory, we are happy to keep him longer. If we had a full crew of stay-at-home dogs I’d flunk fostering in a nanosecond. But I have to assume Peach will leave us one day and then we can eliminate the dog sitter expense of our showing schedule. And with the house damage, it’s just not a good time to take on the expense of another dog in any respect. But if there’s a possibility Atlanta will come through, he can stay here and will be well loved every minute of it!
He is a stubborn cuss! Has decided he will not even piddle in the dog run. He either has a bladder as big as a beach ball or he sneaks out during the night when I’m not looking. But you can tell he’s been left alone a lot and can reallllly hold it.

Are plans still for Bo to go back with you on Sunday?
The longer he is here the better I love him–some family will be really lucky. Had a weigh-in on Thursday and he’s down to 89.7. Initial goal is 85. Have not been giving him coconut oil due to the very high calorie count and immediate health threat of overweight. He’s been getting a level cup of kibble and about a cup of combined thawed frozen green beans (freezing helps break down the cellulose) and canned pumpkin. Beans are 25 calories a cup and pumpkin 50 calories a cup so a real bargain compared to kibble;->

visiting. My grandson ran up to me ,,,,, it was horrible. He went to the hospital, and got stitches. Jackson is a super dog, don’t get me wrong,
everyone that comes over loves him (not as much as I do) , and he plays great with my other 2, and my dads 2 dogs, ~ he just does not like children.
But with adults, he is a teddy bear.
We don’t know what he went through before we got him. He used to growl through the fence at the children in my neighbors
yard. We would go out and pet him, get him to relax and reassure him it was ok. He is getting better with time, and that’s what it takes;
time, patience, love and guidance.

I am so sorry that you are having to give up Rex. He sounds like we will fit right in with our family. It is just my husband, Richard, and me and of course out 7 month old airedale, Kenzie. She too is very very active and will greatly benefit from having playmate. We walk her twice a day and play outside a lot but she never tires

Teddy’s owner writes to say “teddy is ready to be picked up now” so we identify Julie Slenker as foster family for Teddy. Julie and Larysa talk and Julie wants to be separated from this as Larysa is crazy and has unreasonable demands. Julie asked to be removed from the Teddy adoption
Larysa writes to me and says this Airedale Rescue appears to be something I don’t take sensuously when she calls me back and she receives Cisco voicemail. She said it appears to be a hobby. She later apologizes.
She gave me the following criteria for Teddy’s new owner
Must be an alpha.
Must be committed. If Teddy is a 2nd dog and something happens, he will be given up on first
Must be big dog experience. Teddy is a big dog and will pull you to your knees if he needs to. Also teddy comes from hunting do stock and he has killed many small things rabbits, squirrels in the garden
Must be experienced dog owner
Must have fenced yard
I mentioned the ARG contract that if for any reason that an ARG dog needs to be returned, it comes back to ARG and she said no, teddy must come back to her.
Would it be reasonable to list Teddy on our site (either available dales of mixed dales) as a courtesy and direct all questions to Larysa? The adoption is not an ARG adoption but an adoption through Larysa. Thoughts?

We have tried different medicines and cleaning routines but nothing has helped. So we reached out to ARG to find him the best home that wasn’t us. I am happy to read about your other dog and large yard and hope that Rex will make a great addition to your family.
We live in Daphne, Al which is a suburb of Mobile. I am five hours from Atlanta and I could easily drive Rex to the Georgia line and meet whomever.
