Recommend Brentwood, TN for HV as it is about 25 minutes away. Rosemary Walters or the Stewarts are good options.
I spoke to Evelin and she has been on bed rest due to difficult pregnancy. She had a baby that was a premie. The baby requires constant feeding. She has 2 other children. She cannot handle the dog too. Deb Hadaway committed to taking into foster. WIll need to get spayed.Jazmine expected to go into heat in August. I asked Bay to call her vet and get her records. Deb H. is off for summer. Back up is Mary Mc.
CP to arrange details for pick up on Saturdy June 2.
I spoke briefly to Evelin and assured her that the dog would not go to a shelter.
History summary
In late April there was a post on Craiglist about Murphy. It was in a town north of Nashville. I contacted the poster and no response. I sent it to Mary Dams to pursue on her own, if she was interested and she did pursue and went to the town after school and paid $1XX??? It was $150? I cannot remember. The dog lived with the family for only one week. They were used to Dobermens and Murphy was not housetrained. In his previous home, he had lived with a toy breed dog. In this home, there were young children and chickens and cats. Going into Mary’s home, this met a lot of her criteria.
Thanks, maybe talking to you will help…been a stressful week. Today, he let Paul take him on a walk and he would only go so far from home and then wanted to go back….walked back fine. Then we all went on a walk and he was fine. Yesterday, didn’t want to go back in house because of Paul…strangest stuff….talk to you soon, I have school finish work and meetings Tues and Weds. 8-3

Hi, Not sure on timing or if Murphy Dams will be surrendered. Thinking he would be good except they want a female and Murphy has proven to be very afraid of men. Never mind on my thought there 🙂

Mattie had one little episode of growling at Goob before dinner. Then we went downstairs and he showed her the dog door and took her outside to potty. They’ve been pretty close since. Goob waited for Mattie to eat first, then he ate his dinner. Afterward, Mattie heard a thunderstorm coming, and she was terrified! Imagine being in a strange house, with strange people, and a sorm coming! She tried to get under the coffee table, but she didn’t fit, poor baby. She spent the entire storm sitting on my feet, with me petting her and telling her it would be OK. The cat walked up to her, and she growled a little bit. I admonished her for growling, and she growled at me. I’m sorry, but no dog is going to growl at me! I scolded her for growling, and she took it pretty well. I told her that if she wanted to carry on that way, she’d have to go to the basement. (If she hadn’t been scared stiff, I might have had a fight on my hands.) I think her growling was fear of the thunderstorm, and there was no malice intended. The cat is, in Yiddish, a NUDGE – an annoying pest. The storm ismostly passed now, and she has relaxed. She’s asleep right behind me in the office. Poor Mattie couldn’t fit under the coffee table, but Goob is asleep on the couch with his head under a pillow! The cat is asleep on the back of the couch.

I spoke to Lynn Cooper. She found “Lamb” about 10 days ago. Lamb was abandoned at the campground where Lynn lives. SHe saw the family who owned Lamb and they left her tied out all of the time. Lynn said they had other dogs who were in equally bad shape/condition. She said they had a terrible storm and the family took the other dogs into the camper and left Lamb tied up outside. When the family left they abandoned Lamb. Lynn took Lamb to her vet and she had shots. (no hw test but she started her on hw and flea/tick preventative). She is worried about her water intake and Cushings.
Lynn said that she took Lamb to Blue Ridge Kennels and they groomed her for $25. (that is where Janice Tucker goes to)
Lynn said that she is around lots of kids at the campground and is gentle with the children. Even babies. She is fine with all of the other dogs who live there. She seems curious about the geese. Saw a cat and the cat hissed at her and she seemed curious about the cat but not pursue it. She does not know toys. Lynn walks her around the campground about 4 times/day on leash. She will not tie her out and she does not have a fenced yard. Lynn said that her place is about 200 square feet and not a lot of room for her and a dog.
Lynn sounds very experienced in taking in dogs, fostering them, finding them good homes. I instantly trusted her to know the right things to do. She does some type of obedience/search & rescue training. Nancy Wade, an aquaintance of hers, read her the riot act for not contacting ARG (perhaps she met the other rescue in NC???). I offered to Lynn that she would foster Lamb and ARG would assume vet bills going forward. She cannot do that past Tues or Wed of next wk as she is going to care for a friend who starts chemo. Her friend is in columbia, SC and her friend’s cousin will drive up to get Lynn. Lynn has a very old car that was someone’s great grandmothers and she does not think it could go very far. i assured her that ARG has plenty of volunteers in the area and she would not need to drive Lamb.
Lynn lives in Weaverville / Woodfin area of Asheville. She is super close to Marti’s house.

distinct ‘7’ on her
side after being groomed 🙂 She’s quite sweet
adnnsmart, very loving
and non-demanding
Dog’s worst qualities are::
she drinks gallons of water and i fear she may
have cushings or some
other disease – not diabetic b/c she does not pee
all the time. she
has chased a cat, but only b/c it ran. i think
she’d be fine with a

she lived her whole
life outdoors, she wants to be there all teh time,
tho is getting used
to having a bed and a sofa 🙂
Has Airedale received any obedience training?: Yes

Any other medical treatment?:
got a full exam and is due for next vaccinations
(second ones, we had
to act as if she hadn’t had any) on 4/25. She got
all vaccinations
including rabies. i think she needs her front-side
canine checked b/c
she drops food and it seems to go right up to her
gum and is red.
ALSO: i don’t know about this… ?Cushing’s
disease or ?? but she
drinks TONS of water and her output is normal, so
Allen thought she
was just dehydrated but after 2 wks, she is still
doing this. not sure
why. i have measured her water and it is non=stop
drinking.
I certify ownership of the Airedale described
above. This Airedale has
not bitten any person or animal within 15 days and
has not been
exposed to rabies. I give complete ownership of

Subject: Nancy Wade referred me
Hi Christina,
i’m fostering an Airedale, lovely girl about 8 yo who was abandoned at the campground where i live. She’s going to meet a possisble-home tomorrow, but Nancy Wade said to contact you instead. not sure why…except that this girl *might* need more vetting than i can afford, adn also Nancy felt she’d get a better placement via an Airedale rescue. my concern is possible Cushing’s disease, b/c she drinks GALLONS of water a day (literally, i’ve measured) and her output is much less. the vet at first did not think it was an issue – figured she was dehydrated but now into her second week of plentiful food/water, she is still doing this. i cannot afford more vet bills. so am wondering if you’d be willing to take her.
i’ve had her shaved down – Gads you should have seen the mats. in fact i’ll include some. She’s extremely laid back, good with dogs, kids, etc. takes Remidyl occasionally for hips/arthritic back, but is quite a pleasant, almost-invisible dog. she has only this week learned to seek out human attention. has had first round of vaccinations but is due for the second round on the 25th. she also drops food a lot and has a side canine tooth that may need filing. i dont know her spay status, tho she has had at least one litter. my ph # – i’m here in Asheville – (803) 417.0340
Plz let me know what you think, and if you can take her.
thanks…Lynn Cooler
