Hi – I just realized I sent the previous adoption application to “ncairerescue”. I am not sure you folks are the same. So I just sent another application to you via your website.

Hi – I had already filled out an adoption application the last time I talked with Airedale Rescue Group (November 27 – Debbie Butler). Debbie was supposed to call me for a short interview, but never did since there were no available girls. I am now interested in learning about Rex (even though he is a boy), since he seems pretty well matched with my 13 month old 52 pound spayed Airedale Daphne who really needs a playmate. Please call. Thanks.

He is good but definitely old. He is such a sweet boy but requires lots of TLC. He seems to have trouble w his hips after laying down and i did notice two lumps on his back near where his hip sockets are located. Not sure what that means for him though…He won’t go up or down the stairs so we are having to get creative on how to get him to the backyard. He is also terrified of the Hardwood floors so Shawn has been carrying him into our room at night. He can’t make it through the night without a leash-walked potty break which has been an adjustment for us.

Dudley doesn’t mind him but they don’t engage quite like I thought they would. Not sure if that isbc of the age difference or Dudley not knowing how to play w other dogs. This has shown us that Dudley definitely needs moresocialization and has become way too accustomed to being an only child. And FAT!!! ; )

Sherlockhas plenty of food- of course, he and Dudley take turns nibbling at each other’s bowls….

It has been a great learning experience and confirms that we definitely need a younger dog to keep up with Dudley. Dudley wants Sherlock to play chase in the yard and instead, Sherlock just hides in the bushes. He is so funny!

I spoke with Kay and I really liked her. They are interested in Rex. They lean toward younger dog and need one who is I the 50-60 lb range. I think some of our larger dogs were too much for them. Their last dog lived to age 13 and she got teary talking about him and not having him. She laughed that he never outgrew his puppy stage of fun playing. She understands that they must be secure. She has a fenced yard and said that Buddy would take the opportunity to run out the door if given the chance. Husband works at home. She does not work. Volunteers and cares for elderly parent.

Hey! It went really well! He is a very lovable boy! He will make someone very happy for sure. He was groomed and looked clean and had his cute little bandana on 🙂 I saw flea medicine had just recently been applied to his back so that was good too! He had a good sized yard to play in and she also had a little dog that was playing with him that she was keeping since he was small. He seemed so happy and good natured. He was playing with us before getting into the car and happy to meet us and he layed quietly on his bed looking out the window during the car ride. I sat in the back with him so he wouldnt be as nervous and he would rub his nose on my lap and arm to get more attention 🙂 When we stopped in dalton I got him out to potty and he went right away and walked calmly on the leash. He seemed like he was used to being well taken care of. Clara was very sweet. She had a nice home and was very loving towards him. I could tell she seemed devastated to be giving him up. She cried and took last pictures of him. It was very sad. I hugged her and told her that I knew you would get him placed into a loving home where he would be well taken care of and she said that was the only reason she was feeling ok about it. I felt so sorry for her as well. She just kept saying thank you all and God bless you all for taking him in. It was very emotional leaving but she said she was ready and finished her goodbyes. Their situation defiantly saddened my heart… I hope he gets a good home! I know I would want him if I didn’t have a brand new baby 😉

Grady bit Mrs morin. He had an on/off switch which was unpredictable. Grady was PTS. I wrote a note to Morins to thank them for taking Grady into their home and sorry how it ended. I did not indicate that he was PTS. Just to say thank you for taking him in.

She and Steve and Cooper are very interested in Rex, and she asked if he was still available.

                          I said yes.

I told her because of the length of time it took to pay for Cooper, that we would send the contract and ask for full payment before the dog is turned over. She said that would not be a problem, and she thought their prior history might have been a factor.

I said yes, it was, although not necessarily a deal breaker.

I gave her the surrendering owner email and phone number, and suggested she emailed first and asked for a good time to speak.

I told her we had no reason to think this family was unstable, that the reason for surrender was because the young son had developed severe allergies.

Cooper is now 92 pounds. His best friend is the next door dog. When everyone is outside, they open the gate betw/ the yards and the two dogs play and play and play.

She promises to keep me posted when she speaks with owner.
