to infoHello,
I have 2 Airedale’s that I need rescued for placement. They are both female, one going on 7 this November and one about the same age. Traveler we’ve had since she was a puppy, Duchess about a year. Traveler is about 70+ pounds with Duchess about 55(I’m guessing)
They are both purebred, with one spayed and one not spayed.
They do not hunt. We have had one since she was a puppy, and one almost a year now. They do not get along with each other at all, & we’ve tried to allow them to co exist but they just aren’t feeling it. Traveler is smart, she needs training most of all. She pulls on her leash, and she’s very strong. Duchess is just scattered all over the place. She was used as a breeder and we tried to help him out, but it’s just too much for us.
My husband and I are both disabled, (81, & 67) and not steady on our feet as we used to be. It’s becoming more and more hazardous for us to keep them, especially as they don’t get along.
We’d prefer them to be the only dog(because we just don’t know how they’d be with other dogs- maybe ok, but we can’t say. They do have a very high prey drive. They’re not aggressive with people- just each other it seems.
If you are aware of anyone legitimate that would give them a loving home, I’d sure appreciate a referral.Inline image

find an owner and get weight on him. She may have also had him groomed.I actually saw a post about him and asked the person to contact us but didn’t hear. Then Chasity reached out.
Thanks for taking Winston in for ARG.

Hi, everyone,I am meeting Yvonne and Winston Monday at 3pm in Kennesaw. We are in touch about meeting at Chilis off 1-75 on Barrett Parkway exit. Thank you so much to everyone for supporting Winston! Who is able to tell me the story of how he was found? Was Winston on his tag, or did the shelter name him that?
Would it be possible to share his vet record after the last visit Monday so I can share with my vet? The new vet will be Dr Cown at Athens Animal Hospital.
Have a great weekend,

Good Morning! We have a foster for Winston!! Sarah Hemmings in Athens, GA, is an approved adopter and is fostering Winston for us.
Athens is about 3 hours from Chattanooga. If a volunteer from the shelter can assist with transport to Kennesaw, GA, then Sarah will meet them to get Winston. Sarah would also like to call and talk with you.
Can Winston move this weekend? That would be best since Sarah works.
Thank you for trusting us to give Winston the very best care.

We aren’t able to release him until Monday due to the stray hold rules we need to follow. I can have a volunteer meet Sarah on Monday evening, if that works for her. My cell phone number is (423) 504-8332, if she wants to call me. Once we figure out a pick-up day and time, I will get the driver’s information for her as well.
Thank you so much for your help 🙂

Hello Maika, thank you for taking care of his neuter and donating that.I don’t have much history on Clyde. Nothing on aggression. He was owned by a 67 yr old man who died. He was mainly kept outside. The sister surrendered him as she could not care for him.
I would suggest speaking to your vet about a thyroid test to see if there is an issue. It could be hormones are still adjusting. Also could ask vet for something to help him when he is groomed.
The other thing to try is a CBD chew or oil for him.
Please keep us posted

Hello lovely lady. Just wanted you to know, I finally got “Clyde” neutered, etc. I know you said ARG would reimburse me for it…not necessary, please consider it a donation to ARG.
I’m sitting at the groomers now. They called me to come back because he’s exhibiting aggressive behavior, which I could’ve predicted. He’s very unpredictable at times, even with me. Any idea what his background was???August 14, 2025 at 2:43 pm in reply to: Private: Del Little, Athens, GA – Airedale Experienced / Fostering #337678/14/25: Called Del. Was going to ask about fostering winston, blind Airedale. She did not recognize Airdale Rescue Group. Very Sad.
Suggest we move her to inactive.

He was taken to a vet by the finder. I have not tested him with other dogs, but I will get our behavior person to do that ASAP. He was given strongid, MilbeGuard, and Bravecto today at intake. He was given bordetella, rabies, and DHPP vaccines before intake. He tested negative for intestinal parasites and heartworms. He weighs approximately 50 pounds.
This is the second dog with a freeze-branding we have seen at the shelter. It’s so stupid.
We are going to see about getting him into a foster while you arrange pick-up for him so that he doesn’t have to stay in the shelter. Right now, he is in an employee’s office so he can be semi-cozy. Let me know what we can do to help get him ready for you. Thanks!
