December 19, 2025 at 6:58 pm in reply to: Stephanie Osborne, Raleigh, NC, ADOPTED ZOEY(RB)_Jo, 1.17.26 #34437I’m sad to report that my ARG girl, Zoey, crossed the Rainbow Bridge earlier this month. We adopted her in April 2020, during the lockdown. She was a perfect fit for our family from Day 1. She was my 5th Airedale and easily the smartest and sweetest I’ve had the honor to live with.
We would love to be considered for Airedales that need a home.
Do I need to renew my ARG application, or will my previous one survive.
Other than getting older, not much has changedDecember 14, 2025 at 12:58 pm in reply to: Natasha and Greg Shubin, Hendersonville, NC Transport #34412airenata @ sonic.net
Thank you for giving us this opportunity to have an Airedale in our life again, even if only for a short hour or so. After loosing Bailey in September I don’t think I can stomach one more death. But helping with transport, or pulling an Airedale out of shelter in surrounding areas, or maybe one day down the row even fostering short term, for that please keep us in mind

Rosemary – foster mom
Rosemary did not know the original owner of Finnigan. Owner died in her sleep on Oct 25, 2025. It was unexpected as she was being treated for melanoma. Finn was in the room with her when she died. Apparently, Finn was like her child, they were very close. Prior to living in Austin Texas, Finn was from Savannah, GA. Finn was placed with a ‘friend’ of the owner in North Augusta, SC. Finn was transported from Austin to SC. It was a long trip and Finn was quite ‘discombobulated’. His ‘temp’ owner had never had a dog before, did not have a fence, had a new baby and a 5 year old child. Rosemary knew this new owner from seeing her in the neighborhood and she could tell the lady was having a hard time and Rosemary offered to take Finn from her at that time. Rosemary said that she has a small dog and a big yard, she lives with her sister. When he first came into their home, he was nervous and took a while to warm up to them(he had been through so much change, and he was still very sad from his owner’s passing). Rosemary put him in a board training program. She has never fostered and she wanted to set Finn up for success – if a new family would take him, she wanted them to get a full package for a family, she wanted him to be set up well and good manners. She took him to her vet and brought him up to date on his health. He is in very good health, a good dog – super playful, likes to go on walks everyday. He is 83 lbs, age 7 years old.Now that he is back with her, she explained Finn as a great dog. He is not super brave, pretty timid but happy. He likes spending time in her fenced back yard. She said it’s a chain length fence and he could probably jump it but shows no indication that he would. She takes him on daily walks and the trainer is working with them on ‘loose leash’. He still barks at people as he sees them on walks so the trainer is coming to work with Rosemary/Finn on that. Finn has been trained on a ‘shock’ collar and he is very responsive to it.
Rosemay does not know how he would be with kids. In the short 2-3 days that he lived with her neighbor, he was over stimulated, he was upset with all of the change and that time is no indication of him being with kids. With the right introductions and parent oversight, he would probably be fine. He is good with people – very nice dog. She said he likes treats and takes them gently.

Do you need help with a home for them? Told him that we thought we had a perfect home for them (Meghan). Told him its fine if you decide later that you need ARG help for Willow and Jo, that we will always be able to help.
Owner finally responded! He said they want to get through the holidays before doing anything. He thinks it would only be Jo that needs a home. His daughter is attached to Willow. He said that he will get with us after the first of the year and he appreciates all of the help ‘from the bottom of our hearts’.
