Sent note to Holly and matthew to reconnect with ARG when ready to adopt. Moving application to ‘did not adopt’ but would get Susan to HV if they are ready.

April 13, 2026 at 9:58 pm in reply to: 2026-30 Whitley Wala & Andrew Gehrsitz, Charlotte NC, rent, no yard, no ADT exp_service dog #35203CP Questions
Need landlord approval for dog
Should they wait until they move – how soon is the move
How many people in the household in new home
All household individuals will need to be present at home visit
All dogs from ARG are spayed or neutered; is this a deal breaker
What are Whitely’s ideas for the rescued ‘dale to detect diabetes – training? Expectations
Application mentions ” To train/use as an assistance dog for the disabled”- need more details as Airedales typically are not able to be trained for this; who is she intending to use this dog for – herself? Someone else – transfer once the dog is trained?-

Subject: Airedale Rescue Group – next steps in application processhello Whitely, Thank you for applying to Airedale Rescue Group (ARG) about your interest to apply for an Airedale. The next step in our process is an interview with you on the phone. I would like to give you a call in the next couple of days to ask you a few questions about your application and give you time to ask questions about our rescue.
Are you available during the day to speak – or are evenings better. Let me know a few times and we will be able to connect. (I work from home and should have flexibility to call you during day or after work too)

March 7, 2026 at 2:15 am in reply to: 2025 Cathy and John Helean, Daphne AL, Good fence, No ADT Exp, 1 to 4 yrs, #35006I think Cathy and Her husband would be great Airedale Parents! They have a beautiful fenced yard in a quite safe neighborhood! They have had Labs and other large high energy dogs. Do I need to respond to the questions on the form you sent? They are eager to adopt, they just don’t want a puppy probably at least a couple years old. What are the next steps and time line? She would like to know if there are any that need adopting currently! They are willing to travel even to pick up an Airedale in need!
What are the next steps!

The visit with Chris & Cassie Hayes went well this week. Please see attached.
They are a lovely couple who adopted a rescue doodle about 8 months ago and are looking for a companion for Noodle. Noodle was playful and friendly and has even learned a few tricks since coming to live with them. They had many questions about the dale breed and I was happy to provide information based on my experience with Klancey
I assured them that the goal of ARG is to find “a perfect match” for their situation. They work from home and would prefer a female between 2-5 years old. I know they would provide a loving home for any of ARG rescues.
Let me know if you need me to fill in any additional information, or if I can be of assistance in the future.

February 14, 2026 at 4:44 pm in reply to: 26-11 Maximus, M-N, Charlotte NC, 4 yrs old, good with dogs #348742.14.2026 I called Dillworth Animal Hospital to get records for Maximus. DIllworth Animal Hosp. said that they had only seen Max once, at end of December for a matt on his paw. ALl of his other records were with another vet so i will ask Ryan this when we speak today or tomorrow. He received Bordatella from Dillworth when he was there for the matted toe/paw.
2/14/26 called left message to Ryan to talk about Maxiumus.
Ryan is a CPA. He would take him off leash at ELon College and used to walk him 7 miles a day (Ryan walked 5 miles and Max would zig zag back and forth to about 7 miles off leash). He moved to Charlotte, lives in apartment. He is a happy dog but no where for him to run. Limited schedule – walk in morning and night but not getting the exercise. Ryan thinks he needs his best life – more running around. Ryan has dander allergies and living in the one bedroom, the dander has exasperated his allergies. Stays in apartment during day – in crate. If leave out of crate, he is anxious, barks and whines, drools, claws at door to get out. He is house trained. Ryan got him as a puppy from March of 2022 when he was 8 weeks old. Singing Hills Kennel. Great with kids. He does jump until you tell him it is unacceptable. Good with other dogs. Pulls when on leash when sees other dogs. Off leash, is great with other dogs. Has been with RYan’s 10 year old niece – has known her since she was 6 years old. DId not jump on niece. Very attached to Ryan. Doggy Day care and boarding. He does hump – when he goes to new daycare. Does well with smaller dogs as his mom has a Frenchie. Max plays to the dog’s style and size.
West Brook Animal Hospital in Burlington, NC
Ryan is 90% sure about giving him up. He said he will need a day to think about it when the time comes, when a family is found but he think he will do it. I told him the hard part was done – submitting the form and he said yes, it was not a good Friday night for him when he completed the form.-
