wrote: Pat, here are my notes from my conversation with Kamila and her personal reference, Jason.
I had a very good conversation with Kamila. Her home is on a quiet street off a larger road in a residential area with neighbors on both sides. Currently, only the back line of the back yard is fenced (6’ wood) but they have plans to complete the fencing around the yard. The lot size is large with the house set fairly far back but it also looks to be pretty wide with lots of space on each side (she has the space at about 20×60 – the 20’ measure looks like it is about right but the width seems to be much wider on Google Earth. My lot is 50’ and my house is small whereas her house looks much wider with a lot more grassy space on each side.)
I asked her how she was familiar with the breed and she told me her personal reference, a friend in Chicago, has an Airedale. (She mentions this later on when she provides his information.) Although this is her first Airedale, it is not her first dog. She grew up in Chicago with a standard poodle. She has not had a dog in a while because she was living in Chicago and her home was not conducive to having an active pet. For this reason, she does not have any previous vet, or pet wellness history.
Kamila and her husband have been married 11 years and are both very active. They both play tennis, bike, swim, and like to socialize. They look forward to doing a lot of activities with their dog, such as hiking/walking.
She is allotting a good annual budget for the dog’s expenses – $3K – $5K.
I spoke with Jason, her personal reference yesterday, 2/26/22. He very good things to say about her, including that Kamila had the right temperament for an Airedale. His Airedale is Bruce and, interestingly, he had lots of questions about what I feed my dogs. He is a police officer in Chicago.
I liked Kamila and from our conversation think she will be a good Aire-home for one of our ‘dales once her yard is fully fenced. I recommend moving her to Home Visit status.

Has owned 7 airedales, ‘you can’t tell me a story that I won’t understand’. Also obtained Airedales from Breeders.
Has a 6 FT Chain link fence, never had a dale that was a jumper. Walked twice a day for a total of 4 miles daily.
2 daughters (Illinois and Rhode Island) or nephew in GA would take the dog if anything happened to her.
Dog goes to a kennel in Loganville GA when they travel. She said all the dogs flew out the door to get into the van to go to the Kennel.Emphil kennels in Loganville GA 770-466-8440

Recommend home visit. She is deciding between Welshie and Dales but is not getting good recommendations regarding Welshie’s ha!

wrote: Good evening.
We wanted to update everyone. Raphael’s appointment at our veterinarian went very well. Our veterinarian has three locations throughout the Knoxville area. The groomer that rotates between all three clinics was there and she recognized him immediately. Apparently the previous owners used to board him a lot at their downtown location and she used to groom him. That said, they already had a file on him and we were able to find out a little more information on him. He was born September 17, 2018 and is 3 1/2 years old.
All of us have fallen in love with him and he is such a good and happy boy. We would like to officially make him a member and proceed with the adoption.

Terrance & Bailey should be home in time for dinner at their new home!Safety:
Regular safety – please ensure that you are aware of Terrance and Bailey when opening car doors, transferring them from person to person, always making sure a hand is on the leash. Two is extra difficult! Unless necessary, remain in car with A/C until transport transfer occurs; when opening car doors, ensure that the leash is secured by hand on the leash; when allowing potty breaks – ensure that collar/leash(s) are tight for no escape; be aware of surroundings – even a plastic bag in the wind may spook a dog in unfamiliar settings. Do not let them off leash at any time 😊
Do not feel the need to walk them outside if you arrive early. Sitting in the car in the A/C will be fine for him. (IF you have a water bowl, please bring it so he can take a water sip between cars to keep him hydrated). NO TREATS except his own.
PLEASE USE YOUR CHILD LOCKS so that Terrance and Bailely cannot accidentally open a window or door! (It has happened!)ARG Contacts – *monitoring the transport

Congratulation on your adoption of Terrance and Bailey!!
We are very happy they have landed in an experienced Airedale home for them to blossom into all the Airedales they can be.
Attached please find the adoption agreement. After reviewing the limited veterinary records, it appears Bailey may also be close to 5 years old. Her rabies was given in December 2019 and she was listed as 3 years old. I have estimated both their birthdays in 2016. The adoption fee is $300 each for a total of $600 based on their ages. Both dogs need to be microchipped which ARG will pay for and Bailey needs to be updated on vaccines unless other records were provided to you during transport.
Please return the signed agreement to me at your earliest convenience by email or mail. T
Thank you for opening your hearts and home to Terrance and Bailey.

Subject: Re: Airedale Rescue Group Home Visit in ClemmonsHi Pam – I wanted to check in with you about the home visit. Mary really enjoyed talking with you in December and of course, with holidays and hectic times – seems like everyone has been hit with COVID, I just wanted to check in with you. Lauren can come and meet you for the home visit. It won’t be a traditional home visit where we meet in your house but it is a chance for you to meet an ARG adopter, ask questions about ARG and their experience. Let me know if you’re still interested – we hope so!

Subject: Airedale Rescue Group Home Visit in ClemmonsHello Lauren and Pam
First, I apologize for the delay to get the two of you together. Mary has interviewed Pam and asked me to find someone in the area for a home visit. Lauren is an arg adopter and also in the clemmons area and Lauren agreed to conduct the home visit and I forgot to introduce you two.So, Pam, our next step is to meet an ARG volunteer, Lauren for the home visit. Due to COVID, it’s best to keep the home visit outside and that means that you all should meet outside, talk about airedales and see the yard and fence area. I know it’s going to be COLD and possible inclement weather again this weekend, so please work out when this can work for both of you between weather, work and schedules.
I really appreciate both of your time for this next step in the adoption process. Christina

Please keep in touch and we will be in touch too as an airedale becomes available and a match for you. Christina
February 3, 2022 at 12:51 am in reply to: 2022-05 Duke (nee Raphael), Male – Neutered, Knoxville TN, Adopted by Lee Morrow #28607Hi! I’m Jersey with Young-Williams Animal Center. I’m hoping to reach Christine with the Airedale Rescue Group about an Airedale that’s in our care!
I can get Raphael on the surgery schedule for Friday and he could be picked up that afternoon between 4-6pm. Does that sound okay with you? He’ll be microchipped, vaccinated and HW tested while he’s under for his neuter.
And just some info for you to have-
His owner was in a rehab facility and wasn’t going to be out any time soon. We tried to do an extended hold for him but we had to move forward when he surrendered.
Animal Control picked him up from a Motel 6 when his owner went in to his program. We’re guessing maybe he was residing there for the time being. -
