      Hi Bob

Can you pick up the vaccinations papers and Ziggy from Regina and her daughter at

4735 Cross Haven Drive, Martinez, GA. It is a condo or apartment unit about 11 minutes

from you. Would you be sure to ask her to sign the relinquishment agreement attached?

Regina asked that you come by at 6:15; she gets out of work at 6PM. Her cell phone

      number is 706.619.0087.

Thank you for saving Ziggy’s life!!

              Subject: Airedale Rescue Group Welcome

              Hello Anna,

My name is Christina and I am a volunteer with ARG. I wanted to thank you for your application to ARG. Normally, our volunteer named Barbara Lawson handles applications and interviewing however her computer started to fail her last week and by Saturday she had to take it to the repair shop. So, we’re a little delayed in starting our communications with a few recent applications – like you!

Our process starts by checking vet references and then an interview(s), followed up by a home visit. I see that you have a lot of good dog experience and I bet you’ll love the personality of Airedales.

Since Barbara is without her computer, I wanted to welcome you all and let you know that we’ll start the process of checking the references. To complicate items more, she and I both have planned trips that will take us away from our volunteer work next week but I promise to you that things are rolling and we will be in touch. Please let me know if you have any questions

I just got off the phone with Chessie Green who said that you couldn’t find a better owner than Anna. She was a police officer that worked with the Canine Unit so she really knows her dogs! That’s out of the mouth of the vet herself! She sounded very excited that she was going to get an Airedale….so please let me know how the home visit goes and who they eventually end up with!

                Thanks

                Sue

4/2012 – tried Birkdale. Did not work out due to kids. Returned Birkie. They adopted a lab mix shortly after.

Sue Taylor called Banfield and they won’t release information to anyone unless owner permits. I asked Katherine to call Banfield and to allow info to go to Sue Taylor from ARG.

                      Hi

Spoke to Ashley at their vets office and they sound like good people…..you could tell right away when I mentioned their name she sighed and said something about issues with Percy and what a great dog he is…..just breaks my heart! But they have always taken good care of their pets…..

                          Barbara,

When checking Airedale Rescue SC it included a US map that showed how many Airedales were available in each state. Turns out it is a “Rescue Me” website where the owners can list their Airedale. In this particular case, the teenage son of the family bought the Airedale from a breeder, brought him home (without the parents knowing) and failed to take any responsibility for his care. The family operates a business from their home and has 2 other small dogs. After several long conversations with the owner it became clear that this was a situation that the family simply did not have the time to give this boy the attention he needed. It was very difficult for them to part with the dog but they wanted a say in choosing the new home for him. So, last Saturday we drove to Indiana (near Cincinnati) to pick him up. He is a beautiful Airedale with the sweetest disposition that simply craves some attention. After 4 days, the boys are getting along fairly well. It will take a few weeks before they will have a good understanding of each other and be able to play together. The “honeymoon” period.

We’re not quite ready to Foster but we certainly could transport and we certainly could be called upon to spring a dale from a shelter and be called upon to see if it is a “dale”. Once these two boys are totally comfortable with each other, we might consider a short-term Foster. Now that I’m retired, I have the time. I would want to discuss this with our Vet to see if he is able to provide discounts for services if needed.

                            Barbara,

I noticed the vets number was in Columbus, Ohio so when I called to talk to the vets office they said that they had not seen Lucy, their cat, since 2010 when she came in to be spayed and declawed. They also said that they still have them listed with an Ohio address….so I guess that needs to be checked out?

                            Thanks,

                            Sue

The vets office said that they were good clients and up to date on their shots and heartworm meds.

Bought a puppy who was 4 mos. Countess is her name and they call her “Tess”. Their other dog is named Duchess. I offered her Ellie Mae.

Deb ended up adopting an Airedale from a Birmingham all breed rescue in winter 2012? WE’ve had updates of some troubles but Deb seems dedicated to working it out.
