      Subject: Airedale Rescue Group Welcome

      Hello Lee

I wanted to thank you for your application to ARG. I have enjoyed corresponding with you about your questions on Airedale terriers. Normally, our volunteer named Barbara Lawson handles applications and interviewing however her computer started to fail her last week and by Saturday she had to take it to the repair shop. Followed by a planned family vacation and then I went away for a few days…..we’re delayed in our applicant care! So, I’m warning you that there will be a little delay in starting our communications with a few recent applications – like you! I did want to get a note off to you to let you know that we received your application though.

Our process starts by checking vet references and then an interview(s), followed up by a home visit. I know that you have a lot of good terrier experience. With your past experience with fox terriers, I dare say that you might find an Airedale easier. I know you said one of yours was more laid back for a terrier. I’m glad you understand the realm of activity that a terrier can bring.

Since Barbara is without her computer and then a vacation, I wanted to welcome you all and let you know that we’ll start the process of checking the references. Please let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to talking with you.

Subject: Airedale Rescue Group – welcome

        Hello Connor & Michelle,

My name is Christina and I am a volunteer with ARG. I wanted to thank you for your application to ARG.

I see that you have a lot of good dog experience. Riley is part terrier -I bet you’ll love the personality of Airedales! What size is Riley? I noticed that you do not have a fence. How is Riley with house training and do you have a place for her to go on walks? Is Riley leash walked?

Since Barbara is without her computer and then a vacation, I wanted to welcome you all and let you know that we’ll start the process of checking the references. Please let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to talking with you.

kaycee was turned into Murray County Animal Shelter. It is the county next to Pat and Pat works closely with her humane society. The owner turned her in and said to euthanize her because her leg was broken. Pat was able to use the humane society GA license to pull the dog. Her name was “Dog” and Pat named her Kaycee. She had thrown up in the animal control car and she also has thrown up in Pats car. SHe is one year old. Owner said that her leg was caught in her crate and that is how broken but clearly there is another story.

Here are the up to date Vet papers on Tilly showing lab work and the negative heartworm result.

Note that I have added that she has been given Heartguard and we applied Advantix .We also have her on a high quality food-Blue Buffalo Lamb and Rice formula.

She in only about 43lbs, but had alot of fun and excercise running around our back yard (chasing a ball and critters). She has a good appetite now, so I expect she’ll start putting a little weight on.

She knows some commands, sit&stay(when she chooses ). She is a calm dog and has shown no aggression, rarely barks and not easily startled. She however is very uncomfortable with storms and looks for places to hide(she finally settled on an interior bathroom and was allowed to stay there as long as she wanted).

She is such a sweet, loving dog and is going to make a great addition to someone’s family.

If you need hard copies of any of the paperwork, let us know and we’ll be happy to mail it to you.

Belinda returned my call and she adopted a boy named Charlie from NC Airedale Rescue Group in January. Maggie is age 15 and still doing well. Charlie is 4 or 5 y/o. He came from Memphis – had been on Craigslist and was severly underwt. Sounds like it was a direct adoption from the kennel where he was to Belinda – no fostering. I told her to let me know if she ever needed anything but I hoped that she, Maggie & Charlie had a long time ahead together as a family.

Subject: Airedale Transport Saturday August 4 Murphy

Cyn, Bill, Marti, Jan, Gale and Alyssa – Thank you all for helping on Saturday, August 4 to transport Murphy from Knoxville to his forever home of Greenville, NC. Murphy will have quite a travel day ahead of him. Murphy is about one year old and he is a great dog. One issue with him is that he is timid around some men. Other men – he is fine with. Mary, his previous owner/foster, had to surrender him to ARG because Murphy was afraid of her husband. I don’t think it will be a problem in tomorrow’s transport but please keep it in mind. Mary has two collars on him and one collar is the kind that he cannot slip out of. He is traveling today from Nashville to Knoxville and if there is any indication that he won’t travel well and be scared/afraid, we have a sedative for him that his veterinarian prescribed. We are making that decision after today if he’ll have a sedative. If you arrive at a meeting spot before the other person, please be careful if you walk outside of the car as something could spook him. It would be best to wait in the car and hand him off to each person without any sniffing and exploring.

Thank you for your time and dedication on a summer Saturday. I’m sure there are hundreds of things that you need to get done on a weekend and I really appreciate your time to help drive Murphy to his new family. here are the details and if you have any questions, please call me.

Lee & Mary – Here are Murphy details. Murphy is a skiddish boy but very sweet. THank you Lee for traveling across TN with him. He will be a good boy for you and once Mary puts him in your car, Murphy will be a good boy and not need to get out until you get to Cyn in Knoxville. THANK YOU over and over for allowing him to ride with you to Knoxvlle.

I’ve selected this hotel – hoping they have a big parking lot for you all to meet. Mary drives a White Lexus SUV.

Slightly off this exit – .4 miles

                              Meet time is 2;20ish?

I am saying 2:20 because Lee leaves wok at 2:00 and this location looks to be about 10 minutes from his office address.

Lee, if you want to leave earlier or later, please let Mary know.

Also, I’ll have Mary let me know what time you all meet and then Cyn can meet you he Knoxville side. I am going to say you two should meet at the normal Airedale meeting spot – Wal Greens?

                                  Hi Bob

I am happy I was available to pick up Ziggy and take him to Dog Camp. Situation looked a bit tenuous in the home and Mom was obviously relieved. The poor boy is a big guy with no idea of discipline, ungroomed (three-inch coat!), and sprayed with perfume. I joked with Marsha that the lead they were using was a log-chain!

I just spoke with Marsha just now to see how Ziggy was coming along. She says he’s lost his job (the autistic child) “and no one has told him why.” He is nice, not at all aggressive but unsocialized. If he is worked with by a knowledgeable dog person, she thinks he would be fine
