10/29/23: River was transported to Peg. Turns out Peg took in an unaltered male last week and River is driving him nuts.
hi – sounds like it happened recently that she added a male. Peg has a huge heart and I’m sure this stray boy dog is a lucky one to land with her. We will get Liberty out of the home so that it does not drive him nuts!

We would not have approved her home unless the dog is a show dog.

Morning, all,I did a bit of digging on both this woman’s business site and the Sit Means Sit training method she uses and both are very e-collar focused, using it as the standard training method rather than as a last ditch effort after nothing else worked.
I also heard back from my friend Laurel, who is a trainer. She was not familiar with this woman but also explored a bit and came to the same conclusion I did.
I suggest we decline her. Training based on fear is not good training and since we don’t have real/first hand knowledge of her and how she uses the e-collar, I think our dogs would be best served to not be placed with her.
Sigh, I miss It’s Me Or The Dog with Victoria Stilwell that was (is??….I don’t have cable anymore) on Animal Planet. All people see now is ignorant Cesar Milan and his bullying.

Good morning Pat,
We are definitely able to go pick up and transfer. Dennis isn’t fully on board with
adoption, not knowing how he is with kids and cats, and the process involved in finding that out, but I am! Ha! It’s only one picture, but his face looks calm, and his size isn’t overwhelming. So, I’m not sure what you would suggest for this situation. It makes it hard to plan for transport I’m sure. Maybe at pick-up every thing would fall into place? Who knows, sometimes a sweet face speaks to you😉. But, we can talk pickup details for sure. Thanks, Terry

Hi Terry,We were contacted about a young Airedale est 15 months in the Morrisville Humane Society in TN (2.5 hrs away from you). I talked to the shelter this morning and was told he is calm, does not jump on the kennel, knows some basics, likes to be scratched and tested well with their test dog at the shelter.
He is neutered and has been brought up to date on vaccines. Of course, we do not know about children or cats.
Would you be interested? And if so, might you be able to travel to get him or meet someone who could pull him.
Thanks much!

Hello,I am writing about Kipper, the 4 yr old Airedale.
I was contacted by an Airedale owner who met an Animal Control Officer who indicated you had Airedale at your facility that no one has claimed.
Airedale Rescue Group serves TN, AL, GA, NA and SC. We are willing to step in and take responsibility for Kipper. We need to make arrangements for someone to pull him for our organization and get him to a foster home.

Thank you.

Good afternoon, Roy. Thank you for sending your application to be considered for adopting an Airedale.
In going over your application, There are two issues that would prevent us from adopting to you: 1) you do not have a door that opens directly to the dog’s area, and 2) in answer to what areas of your yard or house are off-limits for your Airedale, you responded “the road and inside the house.” We require that our rescued Airedales be kept as inside dogs and that they never be left alone in a yard when no one is home. This is especially critical with an e-fence. Airedales are known to take a zap when motivated by a running animal — cat, small dog, rabbit, deer, etc. — but not be motivated to come back inside an e-fence.
We will not consider you to adopt an Airedale.
