Airedale rescue can take him in. Is there a vet practice near you that could board him until I find a foster? Airedale Rescue will of course pay. We will also update vaccines, neuter if needed an microchip him.

There was a male Airedale wondering in that area last year but the owner was found. I don’t remember who the owner was.

I have someone who can foster but she is near the Virginia border. Likely can’t get him until after the roads clear a bit.

hi All – we have had a similar situation before that came from Virginia – they asked ARG if we could post the similar scenario – it was even a ‘doodle and Airedale combo. Think we posted it as a special option and someone (Kara and Justin in Cary, NC) went for it. I guess the first question would be – need photos.

I can handle this one, if you all agree we can do it.

Message: Good afternoon. My name is Paulina and not long ago I had to move in with my mom. My dad had some Airedale pups but to be honest with you they weren’t living in great conditions, so I took one. He is a very shy and fluffy guy. He loves to play with you but still very shy as he grew up only knowing the outside and his siblings, not so much human encounters. I would bring him in at times, but he doesn’t really enjoy it. He absolutely adores going on walks. I did not want him to be bored all day as I now work 8 hours a week, and because I moved, I have some things to take care of after work, so I got him a little friend after an old classmate needed to rehome her goldendoodle pup. Her name is Lola and she is oh so very friendly. She loves people and playing, although I do admit she doesn’t really like to obey. She does love being inside, she is crate trained, and potty trained although she may pee a little when excited. After life took an unexpected turn on me, I am not able to fulfill their needs anymore. I have been trying to make ends meet for months now and I feel awful for having to let them go, but I do think they deserve way more than what I can offer. I would love for them to go together if possible. I have looked in multiple places, websites and done research, and I think your rescue group would be wonderful for my precious Kasper, however I haven’t been able to find anything that fit my standards for my little Lola. I understand if you aren’t able to take in non-Airedale breeds, but if you have anywhere else you could redirect me to, I would love to carefully analyze where my kids will go.

hi Paula – Pat and I are volunteers together and one time, another region had this exact scenario. It was a doodle and an Airedale looking for a home together. We did find a home for the two together. You would need to be very patient as most adopters who come to ARG are not looking for two dogs – much less, a doodle and a ‘dale!

WIll you send me a photo of your ‘dale and of your doodle. Also – where are you located?

                  Hello Paula.

Thank you for contacting Airedale Rescue Group. We are a bred specific group and unfortunately, cannot take the doodle.

For the Airedale, if you are in AL, GA, NC, SC or TN, please complete the surrender form on our website and submit photos and veterinary records.

Sam O. is a fun-loving, almost 2-year-old, 70-pound pup who’s housebroken and up to date on his shots. He is microchipped but will need to be neutered in a foster-to-adopt home. He’s heartworm negative and on preventatives. Sam’s good with cats, though he might get a bit too playful. He’s a bit picky about his dog friends but gets along well with a neighborhood Jack Russell Terrier and other family members’ dogs. A calm, non-dominant dog would be a great buddy for him.

Sam is surrendered because his owner is worried about his safety because a young child has let him out the door. Sam loves gentle contact but isn’t a fan of hugs or having his collar grabbed. He’s anxious at the groomers and vet but is a good car rider. One of his quirks is that he can open jars and doors!

Sam would thrive with an experienced Airedale owner who can provide leadership without being too dominant. He needs a secure fenced yard, and his adopter should be diligent about keeping gates closed.

Shia is a sweet and energetic Airedale dog, born on December 9, 2020. She’s spayed, weighs 52 pounds, and is microchipped. Shia’s on monthly treatments for worms and fleas. She is currently eating wholesome lamb meal and rice food She lives with one adult, two teenagers, another dog, and four cats. While she’s cool with the cats, she doesn’t get along with the other dog, so she needs to be the only dog in the house.

Shia loves to walk, run, and hike, and she’s great with kids over 10. She has a fenced yard and uses a dog door, but she’s very curious and needs to be crated overnight. She’s used to being alone for 6-8 hours and is a good eater who enjoys car rides. Shia barks at everything and can be independent, sometimes ignoring requests if she’s interested in something else. Shia requires a fenced yard.

If you are an approved adopter in AL, GA, NC, SC and TN, please email info@airedalerescuegroup.com. Adopters from nearby regions (VA, KY, FL) will be considered with an approved adoption application and agreement from your regional coordinator.
