Christina, I got an email from Barbara. She offered her help to arrange a talk between me and a prospective adoption family in dunwoody ga. I think it is a good idea. You can see Teddy’s picture on gopetsamerica.com just go to search page and type “the story of teddy” in the search box. This is my website.

Subject: Smokey 8/2/2013 transport Knoxville to Warner Robins

Hello – I got the rough draft out last night. The are no changes except update to cell numbers. Thank you for helping ARG today. It does not happen very often that we can pull off a week day transport and I appreciate all of you to be flexible in the planning and taking the time out of your day to help.

Smokey is a fun wonderful dog. As you transfer him from car to car please be aware and careful. He will be eager to get out of the car but please hold on to his leash as you open the car door. Some people even close the leash handle on the door so that you can have the leash in your hand as you open the door. Of court Smokey does not know any of us (except his servant John) so it’s important to be aware of surroundings- even a paper bag in the wind could spook him. But overall the day and travel will be fun for Smokey, meeting new people on his journey and eventually getting to his new family!

Safe travels to all. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

This is a difficult email to write, but it needs to be done.

Melissa and I have split up and we need to find a home for Ozzie.

Unfortunately, Melissa’s apartment will not allow Ozzie, because of his size and with the way that I travel it is not fair to Ozzie, for him to stay with me. I am away from home 3 to 5 days a week.

Oz has become such a wonderful friend to both of us, it pains me to write this.

Please advise on the best course of action to take.

                        Thank you,

                        Chris McCarthy

                          Christina:

I am trying to get Winnie a license and they sent back the form saying that I needed proof of her spaying. I don’t think I got that from you. Can you scan it and send me a copy?

I know I mentioned that Winnie got out that one time, but it happened again about a month and a half ago. She got out and she attacked another dog that was being walked on a leash. It was pretty bad. The other dog had some serious puncture wounds on her leg. That being said, it has not happened again and we are trying to figure out how to train her on this. She has been to the dog park twice and has done VERY well. She also did well at our house with Paddington when we were gone for two weeks and had a pet sitter coming in. So, we know we have to be extremely careful with keeping her contained. We are also trying to socialize her more with dogs, by walking more frequently and will also try to take her to the dog park more. I don’t know that we can ever train the aggressive tendency out of her and it does make us uncomfortable that we don’t know if we can trust her. It doesn’t make a lot of sense with how sweet she is otherwise, and even submissive when I try to correct her.

Any advice you have would be helpful, but we are probably just going to have to find the right trainer. I don’t know with her prey instinct that I can ever get her to stay and come back on command when off leash. We hope to try and see where we get.

                          Thanks,

                          Lisa

P.S. She loves running with my husband and they have even done over 4 miles together! She gets very upset if she sees him getting ready to go for a run and he doesn’t take her!
