Hi Christina,
I guess that you have changed your mind about considering us for adoption. I understand that you are very busy but I would have really liked to talk to you when you said that you would call. I appreciate all that you do for these wonderful dogs and I know in a lot of ways it is a great sacrifice. Our family is looking for an Airedale puppy since adoption is out of the question. I have located a trainer that has worked with Airedales before and spoke to him about helping us when we get a puppy. My problem is that I do not want to support a kennel and I am not really sure of a good place to turn. I know that puppies are not your business or passion but I was hoping that I could get a recommendation of where to get a puppy. I believe that you are here in North Carolina and I know that you love this breed as much as I do, that is why I ask.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated since he will be a major part of our family for the next 15 years.

Hi Kristie, my name is Christina and i am a volunteer with ARG and was very happy to see your application. You have a nice background of terriers in your dog ownership! I know terriers are different than any breed of dog and you all have a good exposure to the terrier.
The next step is to have a phone interview. When is a good time that I can speak with you. I work in the day but can sometimes sneak off and have a conversation in the day or I can talk after 8 pm. Let me know what works for you. Thanks.

Has adopted a young Schnauzer. Should be around 15 lb when fully grown. Has requested a phone interview. She also asked about breeders bc she knows that finding an Aire who would be good with smaller dog may not happen.

Lucy does love to be up close and personal. I used to love it when she would put her paws on my shoulders and lay her head on my chest. She seems to believe she is the center of the universe. Jealousy? Probably. She was ugly to both my small terriers, and they are my constant companions and both girls. The two female chihuahuas didn’t seem to draw much of her attention. I have seen other Airedales go for weakened animals in my own house, but usually it was a cat and that drive is never far below the surface. I think Lucy saw herself as the pack leader by virtue of causing the most commotion and thereby getting away with more.

Subject: Rowdy Exchange
Good Morning,
I have emailed the Reynolds requesting to move up the date to Tuesday, Nov. 19 To make the exchange. I found a Red Lobster right off I-20 Exit 199 Washington Road outside of Augusta. I am hoping they can drive to there as that will save us two hours driving time there and back. If I do not hear back from them, I will call them this evening to confirm plans. We are soooo excited.
We feel really good about this match up, kind of like going back to Harley days!! LOL !!!

Ok just got off the phone with the Reynolds, they were having second thoughts of giving him up, but they decided it was what was best for them at this time. But we are going to do the change on Monday not Tuesday(he has a doctor appt) at 11:00AM at the Red Lobster on I-20. Hopefully all will work out and we will be coming home Monday with our new baby! Nervous they are going to back out, but I do understand, I could not give up any of ours for any reason!! They are worried as to what will happen to Rowdy if he does not get along with Lola. I explained that there are many foster homes in our area where he would be placed if the need should arise. I will let you know what happens.
November 14, 2013 at 3:17 am in reply to: Private: Lucy, Huntsville, AL approx 1 y.o. at Christina's #12360Joyce said that in the weeks before the attack Allie episodes happened, the had been a change in Lucy. She said that the had been a recent change in the closeness of Lucy to Joyce. I have to say that Lucy is a very deep lover. She likes to be close. She likes to touch. Snuggle up. Lay in your lap. No space in between you and her. I would hesitate to put her in a home with an older, weaker dog after much thought and observation. I have not seen her get ugly to tuna yet but she is possessive of me. I am watching their interaction.

Subject: Rowdy is not for the Probsts
Nancy called. She and Lil met and went to the Reynolds home. (lovely home she said, fenced back yard which is mostly concrete with the pool. She did not see if there was a side yard.)
Rowdy is truly rowdy, which Lil had said previously.
She spent over an hour with them and he never settled down, never sat quietly by his owner(s). He minds husband more than Lil, who thinks it is her fault for not being firm enough. He was on leash the whole time, including inside the house.
Nancy said she was so tempted to take him home because he is so handsome, and she could see the potential. She said he is perfect in appearance in every way. But they have grandchildren who are over frequently and she was concerned that he would be too rough and accidentally knock one over. They are not toddlers, but some young enough to be of concern. She said if it was just she and her husband she would take him in a heartbeat.
Lil asked Nancy to ask me to call her. I will, and reassure her that we will continue to find the right home for him.
I thanked Nancy for her insights, and told her that is very valuable input as we find a better fit.
She says to please keep her in mind if someone else comes along…………
So time to put him up on website. I don’t think we have a photo, do we? If not, Christina, would you ask for one, please.
