Laura contacted me about this situation on Saturday m ay 3. On may 4 we worked out the details, receiving surrender info from Andrea, the owners sister. The owner was living with his mother, taking care of his mother who hads Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. For that reason he had out a lock on his door to keep his mom from coming in and causing Lucy to get out. He had been dead for 18 hrs at least per the coroner. Lucy was with him during this time.
Never been around kids. One brother who lives in Atl has a shih zu and the shih zu would come over to visit the grandmother
Lucy is used to different care givers coming in and out. Not used to kids

I contacted tigh in April when he had posted Dasher on a pet classified site. She was listed at $200. I emailed through the site, explained rescue but said we could not pay for a dog. Tigh connected with me. He did not know that there was a rescue option, he was happy to learn about our group and he agreed to surrender her to ARG. (Not $200). He is a college student (older) with no money and having to move to a place with out dogs. Sounded like he had been in military and Dasher had lived with his ex wife at times of deployment but this was a long term solution for her. When I explained the Jenkins to him, he said that Dasher deserved that kind of stability. When I started into details about timing of transfer he started crying. I did not hear anything for 2-3 min and then he composed himself. I can tell he really loved his dog. Jamie Jenkins went to get dasher from him when they returned from their trip.
So far so good with reports on dasher settling in. Emailed with Erin on 5/3/14 and she said she was a Velcro dog.
