hello – Tomorrow is the day that we will have Loki transfer to Anna and Dave. Anna and Dave live in Knoxville area and they are former adopters of our beloved Ned Pepper. Loki will join their family with Anna, Dave, their two children and Ned Pepper. It is a bittersweet day for Danielle so we know that this is not an easy day either.Danielle – what types of things will you be sending with Loki? Sometimes it is easier on transition if you send a famillar toy or balls or whatever he likes with him.
Vet records are transferred – no need to worry about paper docs.
Feel free to call each other today or tomorrow if you think of anything or want to ask questions about Loki.
Sunday May 25 3:00 Asheville – meet up for you all for exchange of Loki

I spoke to Grreg about Loki who needed a new home, located in Columbia. After talking to Greg, it turns out that they do not have a fenced yard. They use invisible fence but their Airedale sticks to him like glue so they don’t even have a collar. He spoke of a lot next to them that they own and he may make that for the dogs – I was not sure what he was talking about.I ended up removing the offer of Loki since he had broken out of a screen porch and did not trust that he would do well in an invisible fence

He was quite reticent and explained that his wife is going into a memory care center next week and his son from Colorado is coming to Columbia to help him out during the process. I told him to send me a text or give me a call when things are less stressful. If I haven’t heard from him in a couple of weeks, I will call him just to see if he is doing okay.
Is that okay?May 22, 2025 at 6:57 pm in reply to: 2024 Cullers, Karen & Herb, Nashville TN, No fence (condo), ADT Exp, no pets, 1-2 hrs alone #334515/25 – asked about home visit
May 22, 2025 at 6:46 pm in reply to: 2024 Wilson, Gregg Columbia SC, 1 ADT, e-fence, 3 hrs alone, no children #334505/22/25 – spoke with Greg about Loki and realized that they have an invisible fence. Their F ‘dale does not even use the collar because she stays so close to Greg all the time. She loves Greg and he really wants to find a ‘dale that glues to his wife since Samba is devoted to him. I think the big news is – invisible fence.
Loki was originally one of 3 dogs living with danielle. She had a standard poodle who was 14 and passed away last year. Loki likes to play rough, and poodle did not like because he was old. Danielle walks Loki – she does not have a fenced yard. He does have a lot of energy – and she knows that he does not get exercised the way the breed should be. He is a house dog, they have had Loki since he was a puppy. He is house trained. Sit on command, will sit while serving food and wait until she says “Break’. This is the extent of his training. He will do anything for a tree so she thinks if he were in a better situation with someone who had more time, Loki would learn quickly.
Groomer – he wags tail and tries to jump and play with other dogs. She knows that his jumping on people and dogs is a problem but not had time to fix it.
When he is boarded – he goes to a place where he plays with other dogs and never had an issue (boards at Whiskers & Paws).

Subject: Airedale Rescue Group – next step, schedule home visitHello Ned and Lynne
My name is Christina and I am a volunteer with Airedale Rescue Group. I volunteer with Jo who you talked to last year as part of the application process. I am following on my sword to say that I missed scheduling a home visit for y’all. Jo had indicated that it was the next step in the process and I missed it. We are interested in moving forward to get the home visit scheduled but I wanted to check in – are you still interested in a rescued ‘dale? I hope so!Jennifer called me about how our process worked to place a dog. She had an airedale, her heart dog and it passed away of age related reasons. She purchased Kalika from a breeder in GA. She thought she did her research to find a good dog – she wants one for “PSA” (I think she called it PSA). Kalika is more like a lab in an Airedale body. Very meek. She thinks that Kalika lived on a small concrete square and was not properly introduced to things. House training has been very hard for Kalika to learn – still has issues with that. After some time, she realized that Kalika was not going to fulfill her needs so she posted in a FB group about a work ‘dale line the Airedale breed and she was connected to a breeder in ohio who had a puppy. Jennifer purchased that puppy. She has decided to rehome Kalika. She sent both puppies away to board training and she think that Kalika regressed even more there; the other puppy did well. She has had ‘rag work’.

Subject: Re: Home Visithi Rich – I noticed that you wanted to go ahead with the home visit. As part of the home visit, an ARG volunteer will come to your home and meet you; visit your home; look at your fence, etc. It sounds like you have a lot of changes occurring and I wanted to make sure that you were ready for the home visit or would you prefer to wait. There is no rush. Please let me know and I will find a nearby volunteer if you want to proceed

Hello Rich-We have a couple of dogs in the queue for adoption.
I am just checking in to see if you are ready for a home visit. Last time I checked you were dealing with repairs from Helene and of course, if your wife’s condition allows.
Thank you
