Subject: Re: Toodles and BelleHi Christina,
We adopted a rescue from Illinois last December and I believe she is going to have to be our only dog. She is a big girl 90 pounds and just turned 2. Thankfully she is a very good girl.
Wish we could handle two but I guess we’d best stick with Charlee.
Best of luck,

My name is Christina and I am a volunteer with Airedale Rescue Group. I work closely with Jackie Cash who you’ve communicated with about Airedales. Jackie is taking some time off of ARG for medical and I am stepping in. Are you still interested in adopting an Airedale. I know you’ve indicated you would like a male Airedale and I wanted to tell you about Toodles. I think he fits most of the things you’re looking for in a ‘dale. Toodles foster mom (AL) has been very committed to him and loves him dearly but she has cats and its not a fit for her forever life. She has worked with him and he has come so far – he is a great leash walker now – she takes him on a lot of walks. He loves playing in the yard and toys and snuggles!
Tootles. Tootles will require patience and long-term medical care for nasal disease/chronic rhinitis. We have extensive medical records on him and will share them with the adopter. He would be ok with another dog his size, older children (>10) and no cats; absolutely no cats. Here is his information: Tootles, 5 yr old Male/Neutered, AL, Airedale Rescue Group, Available – Airedale Rescue Group Since he will require monthly medication, our National Airedale Rescue group has agreed to pay for his monthly medications (submit invoice to the Treasurer and will be reimbursed)We also have a sweet girl dale named belle who I will also include some information about. I know you’ve been a male ‘dale owner in the past but Belle is a sweet girl – who wants to be an only child!
Belle is a 7 yr old female-spayed that would do best in a single dog home. She is dominant and possessive of her person and things. Information about Belle can be found here: Belle, Female-Spayed, 7 yrs old, AL, Airedale Rescue Group, Available – Airedale Rescue GroupPlease let me know if this is a good time for you to adopt and if you’d be interested in Toodles (or Belle!)

I wanted to check in with you and see if you’d like us to come by for a home visit still for Airedale Rescue? I know we had some issues with our schedules and then unexpected home repairs. 😊 Let me know when a good time for you is. I can do evenings around 7 or weekends.
Thanks!

Subject: Re: Home Visit – Airedale Rescue GroupHi Christina and Jill – Nice to meet you both!
I think I mentioned this to Mary, but I am getting married on 4/17 and then on a honeymoon through 4/27 (both out of town). So the next 6 weeks are a bit crazy on my end!!
Could we pick this back up when I return from my honeymoon? Or does it make sense to go ahead and schedule the home visit so it’s out of the way?
Let me know!
Thanks,

Thank you for helping to transport Duke from Memphis to his new family in Highlands, NC Please know we APPRECIATE all of you for helping with Duke– we could not do this without you so THANK YOU. This is a long transport -the entire state of TN. Plus, there is a time zone conversion so it makes the day very long.
Duke is such a good boy I’m excited for all of you to meet him and get him to his new family. Duke came from a situation of living outside, eating cat food when he was fed and overall, not a great upbringing for his first two years. We’re so thankful that his owner decided that ARG would provide a better life for him. However, not everyone in his family was on board with his owners decision so we are calling him Tank if there’s any reference to him on social media. Otherwise – his name is Duke! Transport is a fun way to help ARG and meet other Airedale people so despite all of today’s challenges, I hope everyone has a great experience with Duke.
Please confirm you have received this. THANKS.
Safety:
Please ensure that you are aware of Duke when opening car doors, transferring him from person to person, always making sure a hand is on the leash. Unless necessary, remain in car with A/C until transport transfer occurs; when opening car doors, ensure that the leash is secured by hand on the leash; when allowing potty breaks – ensure that collar/leash(s) are tight for no escape; be aware of surroundings – even a plastic bag in the wind may spook a dog in unfamiliar settings. Do not let him off leash at any time 😊
Heat Safety – Its going to be hot on Monday – it’s summer. Do not feel the need to walk Duke outside if you arrive early. Sitting in the car in the A/C will be fine for him.
PLEASE USE YOUR CHILD LOCKS so that Duke cannot accidentally open a window or door! (It has happened!)Monday, 6/21

My wire hair was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma of the spleen with mets to the liver 3 weeks ago… he is almost 11… a rescue… we are devastated. Right now he is doing very well, but we think we may only have another month or so with him. If you ever have anything down this way, I’ll help if I can. Thanks.
