Below is the reply from matt Holycross. In the new house but no fence yet. Thoughts on their receiving a pup given the lack of fence but their being experienced Airedalers?

I lean to yes since they make sure to leash them when not in a fenced area.

        Mary,

Thanks for following up. We are in the new house, but we do not have a fence yet. If that will be an issue, it may be some time before it’s put up. If that isn’t an issue (given our history with the breed and the fact we’d never let an airedale outside un-leashed in that situation), we can schedule sometime as soon as we are home from vacation next Monday.

Our new address is: 1514 Tanglewood Rd, Columbia, SC 29205

        Thanks
        Matt

Becky Wolber’s reply Re: sex, age, and timing of getting another dale.

She wants to wait until she has just one or none at all. We can keep her on the back burner until she lets us know she’s ready.

Hi! We would prefer female but are open to males as well. As for age, ideally 6 and under, closer to 1 year.

We would rather wait until we have 1 or 0 – just to not upset Lilly or Mac. I think a companion would be good if/when one passes.

Hope you had a good weekend! Thanks for chatting last week.

          Rebecca,

Forgot to ask you when we chatted – On your application you didn’t have a preference for M/F or age but it sounds like you’d want someone younger who can keep Mac going as he ages. And perhaps another female to keep the balance of M/F in the house?

Also, if a good fit arises, would you want to take in a 3rd while you still have Lily, or would you prefer to wait? (For me, I generally wait rather than upset my seniors’ routine at that age but that might not be the case with her. You’ll know if she would welcome a new sibling best.)

Let me know your thoughts and we’ll add them to the notes.

                  Gidget Transport Saturday 5/28
                  Hello
Thank you for helping to transport Gidget on Saturday 5/28 from Rogersville, TN to Pinehurst, NC! I wanted to remind you of some safety guidelines:
                  Safety:
Regular safety – please ensure that you are aware of Gidget when opening car doors, transferring her from person to person, always making sure a hand is on the leash. Unless necessary, remain in car with A/C until transport transfer occurs; when opening car doors, ensure that the leash is secured by hand on the leash; when allowing potty breaks – ensure that collar/leash(s) are tight for no escape; be aware of surroundings – even a plastic bag in the wind may spook a dog in unfamiliar settings. Do not let him off leash at any time 😊
Do not feel the need to walk Gidget outside if you arrive early. Sitting in the car in the A/C will be fine for her. (IF you have a water bowl, please bring it so she can take a water sip between cars to keep her hydrated). .
PLEASE USE YOUR CHILD LOCKS so that Gidget cannot accidentally open a window or door! (It has happened!)!. Safe Travels!. I will be available for any questions. Let me know when you’re safely back home! Pictures are welcome but safety first! 919-605-4563

Gidget is 7 yrs old, well socialized, and needs a person to care for.

Fawn will call me back when she is off work this afternoon to complete the release form.

I am thinking this is a good dog for Martha Bell. Martha has been emailing to learn if we haad a dog for her. Her yard fencing is completed and she is more than ready to adopt.

                          Christina,

I’ve been truly torn this last week about adopting Tucker into our family, he is such a special dog, but we have decided that fostering only is what we need as a family right now. Tucker is a wonderful Airedale, and I know he is going to make his new family very happy.

Part of our decision is Tucker’s size. He is extremely strong, and even taking him outside is a struggle if he sees anything move… and that’s often. It has taken all of my strength to contain him.

The other part is the anxiety that is always present monitoring Tucker and Jameson 24/7. Jameson wants to be his best friend, but is also fearful of him after all of that humping (thankfully that stopped). Carly and Jameson both have some anxiety issues, and with Tucker’s size and hard-headedness combined, it keeps things hopping around here.

I’m happy to give you any information you need on Tucker. I just LOVE him.

Now comes the hardest part… giving him back.

I saw on ARG that you already have three Airedales that you’re transporting/placing right now, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we can work something out for this week. My mom (84 yrs old) is arriving on Friday for Ian’s graduation on Saturday, and I’m hoping that we can transport Tucker on either Wednesday or Thursday. Michelle and I are available to take him to his new home, you just let us know how we can help.

I know my window is tight! I’m just concerned about my mom’s balance and Tucker’s jumping up. Carly called around today to see about boarding him (before we decided to not adopt) and I can check with her in the morning about what she found out.

Thank you for your patience with us. I so wish that this had been the right time for our family and that Tucker was smaller. I will miss being his person.

                          Cheryl

I’m sure there is another Airedale lover in the area that will be able to help. Good luck! Regards. Lisa
