Has a 9 yo English Bulldog Terrier who is sick with cancer. Has also owned MiniSchnauzers and rat terrier in life time. Had Airedale mix at 16 yo, liked the energy of the Airedale. They like to go to the BlueRidge Mountains and Gatlinburg TN for vacations. Niece will take the dog otherwise, dog goes with them.Takes dog to TractorSupply PetVet for annual vaccines(confirmed seen 11/9/14-5/15/16-1/29/17-9/30/18 for vaccines 800-427-7973) Grace Animal hospital of care. (704-853-8866) They didn’t have him on file. He will contact me with correct information.
Fenced in front of the house. Can’t get to the back. Would like a 6month female. Will leash train and would seek out professional help if needed.
We talked about what kind of dogs come into rescue and that if he wants a young dog, he should probably go with breeder. (He has spoken with a NC breeder)
I guess a house visit would be needed.

I’ve not spoken to Darlene Bora but looking at her app, I feel we should decline her with a note that we have no ‘dales available that would be a fit.
They have both chickens and cats, and while a dog can be taught to not chase a cat, as I did with Megan, I have my doubts about chickens. That notwithstanding…….
She doesn’t have a regular vet, only going to Banfield “if needed.” She’s lived in the house for 5-10 years and with multiple pets, I can’t imagine not having a regular vet. I go multiple times/year for each dog and with multiple pets, they should be known and I would think they would want a regular vet. With 3 dogs, I swear I’m stopping in biweekly for something or other, lol.
HUGE red flag: her reply to flea/tick AND HW is N/A. This in itself is a non-starter.
She feeds pedigree, one of the worst foods available, given only 1-2 stars on DogFoodlAdvisir.com. With her allotted dollar amount for annual care of the pet being just $500, it’s no wonder she’s feeding crap food and not providing proper healthcare/preventative for any of her pets, besides that she is legally required to. I realize that not everyone can afford Orijen or other top quality brands but there are cheaper brands that provide much better quality than Pedigree.

Pat, here are my notes from my conversation with Kamila and her personal reference, Jason.
I had a very good conversation with Kamila. Her home is on a quiet street off a larger road in a residential area with neighbors on both sides. Currently, only the back line of the back yard is fenced (6’ wood) but they have plans to complete the fencing around the yard. The lot size is large with the house set fairly far back but it also looks to be pretty wide with lots of space on each side (she has the space at about 20×60 – the 20’ measure looks like it is about right but the width seems to be much wider on Google Earth. My lot is 50’ and my house is small whereas her house looks much wider with a lot more grassy space on each side.)
I asked her how she was familiar with the breed and she told me her personal reference, a friend in Chicago, has an Airedale. (She mentions this later on when she provides his information.) Although this is her first Airedale, it is not her first dog. She grew up in Chicago with a standard poodle. She has not had a dog in a while because she was living in Chicago and her home was not conducive to having an active pet. For this reason, she does not have any previous vet, or pet wellness history.
Kamila and her husband have been married 11 years and are both very active. They both play tennis, bike, swim, and like to socialize. They look forward to doing a lot of activities with their dog, such as hiking/walking.
She is allotting a good annual budget for the dog’s expenses – $3K – $5K.
I spoke with Jason, her personal reference yesterday, 2/26/22. He very good things to say about her, including that Kamila had the right temperament for an Airedale. His Airedale is Bruce and, interestingly, he had lots of questions about what I feed my dogs. He is a police officer in Chicago.
I liked Kamila and from our conversation think she will be a good Aire-home for one of our ‘dales once her yard is fully fenced. I recommend moving her to Home Visit status.

Another lovely applicant, this woman had energy and spice. Loved her. she is very active, when I called her she was out with her walking group.
Has owned 7 airedales, ‘you can’t tell me a story that I won’t understand’. Also obtained Airedales from Breeders.
Has a 6 FT Chain link fence, never had a dale that was a jumper. Walked twice a day for a total of 4 miles daily.
2 daughters (Illinois and Rhode Island) or nephew in GA would take the dog if anything happened to her.
Dog goes to a kennel in Loganville GA when they travel. She said all the dogs flew out the door to get into the van to go to the Kennel.Emphil kennels in Loganville GA 770-466-8440
VET: Teddy seen from 7/2013 – last week yearly, on HW prevention S/F.
Recommend home visit. She is deciding between Welshie and Dales but is not getting good recommendations regarding Welshie’s ha!
