Just looked up Dave Rose. I did email him to schedule a time but never heard back. I’m usually pretty good at remembering to follow up but apparently that slipped through the cracks.
I’ll do that right now.

Rick Dillon – I had a good call with Rick. Rick also had a glowing review from his vet, who told me that his dogs are always up to date and ‘whatever his babies need, they get. Ultrasounds, surgery whatever.’ His lab gets Dasaquin for her joints and he feeds American Journey, which I’d not heard about before the dogfoodadvisor rates it very highly (4.5 stars). His other reference is his stepdaughter but since she’s a family member, I didn’t call her for a reference, especially since his vet spoke so glowingly about their care of their current dogs.
He previously had an Airedale, Abby, whom he adopted from a shelter. She was HW positive but he fell in love with her and took her successfully through the treatment. She was 3-4 YO when he got her. She passed as a result of stomach cancer. Growing up, his cousin had an ADT.
I meant to ask if there was a chance of grandkids to be sure we get them the right dog since he notes everyone in the family are adults but then mentioned his son is engaged, but forgot so suggest the home visit person ask about that.
I asked what steps he;d take if the dog got lost and he mentioned social media, signage, searching, etc. Based on our discussion, it is clear he understands proper introduction of a new dog. His 9 YO male collie and his 14 MO lab (both neutered) get along very well.
The family is looking for a younger female who can be a companion for the 14 MO lab.
Definitely recommend moving the Dillon’s to home visit status.

I never heard back from her and didn’t call her since I figured if she was serious about adopting, I’d hear from her. I suggest removing her from the list.

Subject: Fwd: Airedale Rescue adoption application – Matt HolycrossBelow is the reply from matt Holycross. In the new house but no fence yet. Thoughts on their receiving a pup given the lack of fence but their being experienced Airedalers?
I lean to yes since they make sure to leash them when not in a fenced area.

To: Annecy AiredaleMary,
Thanks for following up. We are in the new house, but we do not have a fence yet. If that will be an issue, it may be some time before it’s put up. If that isn’t an issue (given our history with the breed and the fact we’d never let an airedale outside un-leashed in that situation), we can schedule sometime as soon as we are home from vacation next Monday.
Our new address is: 1514 Tanglewood Rd, Columbia, SC 29205
Thanks

She wants to wait until she has just one or none at all. We can keep her on the back burner until she lets us know she’s ready.

Subject: Re: Airedale Rescue Group Adoption Application – quick ?
To: Annecy AiredaleHi! We would prefer female but are open to males as well. As for age, ideally 6 and under, closer to 1 year.
We would rather wait until we have 1 or 0 – just to not upset Lilly or Mac. I think a companion would be good if/when one passes.
Hope you had a good weekend! Thanks for chatting last week.

Forgot to ask you when we chatted – On your application you didn’t have a preference for M/F or age but it sounds like you’d want someone younger who can keep Mac going as he ages. And perhaps another female to keep the balance of M/F in the house?
Also, if a good fit arises, would you want to take in a 3rd while you still have Lily, or would you prefer to wait? (For me, I generally wait rather than upset my seniors’ routine at that age but that might not be the case with her. You’ll know if she would welcome a new sibling best.)
Let me know your thoughts and we’ll add them to the notes.

Subject: Gidget Transport 5/28/22 Rogersville-Bristol-Wythesville-Winston Salem-Pinehurst!Gidget Transport Saturday 5/28
Hello
Thank you for helping to transport Gidget on Saturday 5/28 from Rogersville, TN to Pinehurst, NC! I wanted to remind you of some safety guidelines:
Safety:
Regular safety – please ensure that you are aware of Gidget when opening car doors, transferring her from person to person, always making sure a hand is on the leash. Unless necessary, remain in car with A/C until transport transfer occurs; when opening car doors, ensure that the leash is secured by hand on the leash; when allowing potty breaks – ensure that collar/leash(s) are tight for no escape; be aware of surroundings – even a plastic bag in the wind may spook a dog in unfamiliar settings. Do not let him off leash at any time 😊
Do not feel the need to walk Gidget outside if you arrive early. Sitting in the car in the A/C will be fine for her. (IF you have a water bowl, please bring it so she can take a water sip between cars to keep her hydrated). .
PLEASE USE YOUR CHILD LOCKS so that Gidget cannot accidentally open a window or door! (It has happened!)!. Safe Travels!. I will be available for any questions. Let me know when you’re safely back home! Pictures are welcome but safety first! 919-605-4563

Gidget is 7 yrs old, well socialized, and needs a person to care for.
Fawn will call me back when she is off work this afternoon to complete the release form.
I am thinking this is a good dog for Martha Bell. Martha has been emailing to learn if we haad a dog for her. Her yard fencing is completed and she is more than ready to adopt.
