3/2024 – Kelly emailed & texted Mary Beth & haven’t heard back. Kelly also tried to call her but her voice mailbox is full. Kelly had emailed her telling her she’d be in touch when she got back the 1st part of March.

Subject: Airedale Rescue Group – home visit

          Hello Janine & Susan ,
Janine, I am a volunteer with Jo for Airedale Rescue Group and I help coordinate home visits. I would like to introduce you to Susan who is an ARG volunteer and Susan will help with a home visit, our last step in the application process. Susan will come to your house to meet you – it’s always nice to connect terrier people! I must admit, we have known Susan for a long time and she is a Wire Terrier owner – but she loves Airedales too!

For the home visit, please determine a time that works for both of you to meet. You can exchange phone or email the details with the two of you. With the days getting longer – that’s easier to do even on a week day. Let us know the progress of when the home visit occurs. Thank you!

I asked Stefani Baker in Douglasville to home visit; also asked Susan Zoller in Smyrna to help.
No response from Stefani Baker. Susan responded immediately.

                Good evening, all,

John, thank you again for agreeing to do the Spring family home visit!
You, Bonnie, and both Aaron and Jessi are on this email so you each
                have the others’ contact info.

Please coordinate a time between yourselves that is mutually
convenient for everyone. Ideally, Jessi and Aaron, we’d like the two
of you, as well as your daughter, to be there so we can engage with
                the whole family.

Thank you, all, for your support of our Airedales!

                Best,

                Mary

Subject: Gus, Saturday March 2, Marietta-Greenville-Gaffney-Charlotte-Raleigh

Hello ARG Volunteers – THANK YOU for helping on Saturday 3/2/2024. As always, thanks for your patience as we worked out drivers, meeting locations, times, etc. I’ve noted regular safety precautions

One thing about Gus – do not feed him treats, food, kibble during his transport. He can be possessive of food and it would be best that he is not tempted during the transport to keep his food. He will be happy in the car, with company, wondering what is going on and looking forward to his next adventure.

Safety: Regular safety – please ensure that you are aware of Gus when opening car doors, transferring her from person to person, always making sure a hand is on the leash. Unless necessary, remain in car until transport transfer occurs; when opening car doors, ensure that the leash is secured by hand on the leash; when allowing potty breaks – ensure that collar/leash(s) are tight for no escape; be aware of surroundings – even a plastic bag in the wind may spook a dog in unfamiliar settings. Do not let her off leash at any time. Double Leashing is preferred if you have a slip lead to bring along for your leg of the trip.

Do not feel the need to walk Gus outside if you arrive early. Sitting in the car will be fine for him. (If you have a water bowl, please bring it so he can take a water sip between cars to keep him hydrated).

PLEASE USE YOUR CHILD LOCKS so that Gus cannot accidentally open a window or door! (It has happened! Airedales are very smart!)

2024 – Nigel is on prednisone and it makes him a 9 yr old garbage disposal. He’s had surgery to remove a tumor on his spine and a course of radiation as he also has a tumor on his heart. He’s still a sweet maniac though. We adore him and are valuing every minute we can have with him.

She is going to a foster home where she will get this TLC. We will not post any reference to Lady on Social Media due to circumstances of her coming to our care, she may be referred to as Lilly!
