Subject: Airedale Transport on Saturday 12/23/23 – Kenai from Marietta to Columbia!Hello Matt and Aisha
First I am so happy for Matt and his family to add an Airedale family member to their home!
Aisha – I know this is a bittersweet day for you and we appreciate you so much for caring and raising Kenai and making this decision for him. As I told you when we’ve spoken – you did all the hardwork to get Kenai to age 2 – those puppy years are tough!Safe Travels and I will be available for any questions.(919-605-4563) Let me know when you’re safely back home! Pictures are welcome but safety first! (Safety notes at end of email)
Trip Details:
1)Please confirm to me (email or text) – when you rec’d this note
2) If you know the area and its not safe, does not make sense, let me know and I’ll adjust this – I guess on the meeting spot selections!
Greensboro, GA Matt & Aisha

Aisha 470-454-0541
Matt 864-621-4062Safety:
Regular safety – please ensure that you are aware of Kenai when opening car doors, transferring him from person to person, always making sure a hand is on the leash. Unless necessary, remain in car until transport transfer occurs; when opening car doors, ensure that the leash is secured by hand on the leash; when allowing potty breaks – ensure that collar/leash(s) are tight for no escape; be aware of surroundings – even a plastic bag in the wind may spook a dog in unfamiliar settings. Do not let her off leash at any time. Double Leashing is preferred if you have a slip lead to bring along for your leg of the trip.
Do not feel the need to walk Kenai outside if you arrive early. Sitting in the car will be fine for him. (If you have a water bowl, please bring it so he can take a water sip between cars to keep him hydrated).
PLEASE USE YOUR CHILD LOCKS so that Kenai cannot accidentally open a window or door! (It has happened! Airedales are very smart!)

Hi!I have 2 Airedales whom I dearly love, both rescues. I have been a member of ARG forever it seems! I’ve done home interviews for the group here in my town of Summerville, SC, and I also transported a rescue Dale down from central New York to his new home in Summerville. Happened to be visiting my brother up north, so it worked out well!
Anyway, all this to say I’d be happy to transport Sunshine from Columbia SC up to Wilmington. I would actually prefer to make the drive this Wednesday instead of the 22nd, if at all possible. I wish I could do the entire trip, but time prevents.
Let me know if you need me!
Thanks!

Aisha would prefer to drive the 85 route towards the GA/SC border over going along I20. Prefers text instead of email for communication.

Subject: Airedale Rescue AdoptionDear Nancy and Scot,
I regret to inform you that at this time the team at Airedale Rescue Group has made the decision to decline approval for your adoption of an Airedale due to the lack of previous methods for prevention of both heartworm and fleas/ticks, for both BooBear and Shaq. The safety of our dogs at time of adoption and throughout their lives is always our top priority and the lifelong prevention of heartworm and other infestations from fleas and ticks is crucial for the health and safety of all dogs. Heartworm prevention in particular is a key consideration when approving a potential adopter as heartworm disease can not only kill a dog but causes lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, affecting the dog’s health and quality of life long after the parasites are gone. While the worms and diseases that fleas and ticks carry may not have the same devastating effects as heartworms in general, they still can be harmful to a dog’s health and in some cases may be fatal.
I appreciate your willingness to follow up with your vet and have both Boo Bear and Shaq provided with preventative treatments, and I hope you will follow through with those appointments, as well as continue to provide these preventatives in the future. I realize this is disappointing for you but because these preventative measures have been neglected in the recent past, and we cannot know for certain that these treatments will be continued and updated annually, we must err on the side of caution for our dogs. If in future years you have an interest in adoption, and can provide records for your dogs showing that all vaccinations and preventative measures have continually been provided, we would gladly re-open discussions.
I’ve included a couple of links below to help you learn more about the dangers of both heartworms and flea/tick infestations. Please also consider speaking with your vet, who should be stressing the importance of these preventative measures.
