Josh is fine. Zig plays rough when he gets excited. You know how puppies bite and chew on everything and you have to constantly watch them..that’s Zig @ almost 2yrs and probably pushing 75-80lbs. He probably never got any puppy training to know better. So Josh and Zig were playing and when Zig got too carried away Josh buried his head in his lap so then Zip nipped at the back of his head/neck. Not a big deal, but good to be aware of that behavior. He likes to have something in his mouth a lot..whether it is fingers, dog toys, kid toys, or whatever he can find on the counter. So it is like training a puppy. He does not bite hard on fingers…but he is mouthy.
I went outside w/ him this morning and he did fine. So I think maybe us spending a little time w/ him in the yard might help him get comfortable being outside more.
He is very concerned about noises. We had just a little bit of thunder yesterday and I could tell he was bothered by that. Will be curious to see how he reacts when there is a real storm. The lady that had him b4 us, who was giving him flower essence or some such thing in his food, said she put a thunder vest on him but that did not help.
He’s itchy…needs a good bath and probably w/ some medicated shampoo to get his skin back to normal – seems oily yet flaky.
No accidents in the house..and when it is bedtime for us he goes down and sleeps well through the night.

Thank you for thinking of me. I would LOVE to adopt Beo, but I lost my job as Part-time teacher and now cannot afford to take on another full time ‘dale. If you need me to foster him, I will be glad to do so. However, is he neutered??? That will be important. Also, if he is that big, he may be able to jump my fence .
WHEN I get another part-time job , I DEFINITELY will go back to TWO ‘dales. I feel safer with two and Flora really missed Jazmin when she left [what a great ‘dale]. Flora is doing fine, but she found a bag of doggie biscuits last Sunday while I was at church and ate the WHOLE bag. She’s on a serious DIET plus WALKING every day we can [due to HEAT and RAIN]. She is something else. She SWEARS with her TAIL that she is completely INNOCENT of any incidents, but her EYES give her away. I REALLY would like to ADOPT ANOTHER one so DON’T GIVE UP on me.

I’ll be glad to foster Beo for ARG. Flora needs some “manners review” so I will work with both of them while he is here. Let the owner know I will be glad to meet her midway [I’m not even sure where Monroe, GA is]. She can call me at 770-851-9581.
I am looking primarily for PART-TIME Math teacher, but school has already started so positions are very scarce [plus all systems have cut back]. I applied with UPS [at one of their stores] for a part-time–they are not interviewing until late August. I applied for a Part-time Math tutor at a local college–hand delivered a folder with my 4-page application, resume, and letter of interest–and was told they ONLY accept ON-LINE applications. 🙁
We live in a DIFFERENT world.

Hi Cindy
I have a foster home for Beo and she lives in Decatur GA. Her name is Deborah Hadaway.
She has a 5 ft fence at her home and she owns another Airedale girl named Flora. This spring she and Flora fostered an airedale for us and they enjoyed the experience very much and Flora likes to have a friend in residence.
It looks to be about 1 hour between Decatur and Monroe. Would you be willing drive Beo to Decatur and take him to Deborah? Or, if that is too far then Deborah can meet you half way. Looks like Snellville is about half way for you two. I looked up any hotel or place in Snellville and it must be pretty small. I’ll look again tonight for a good meeting spot – there’s lots of fast food places at that exit. I just like to pick a less busy meeting place which I need to spend more time. Or, if I’ve missed it and there is a better town that is in the middle, let me know. I’m not a Georga expert!
Let em know your thoughts and what timing. Deborah is a retired teacher and has some flexibility. Thanks!

Thanks for letting me know about your potential change in your family. If you find that you are not moving, then please let us know and we’ll re-start the process. Also – there is a really good Airedale group in Texas that is simliar to ours if you want to start the process in TX. You’d have to complete a new application with that group but just to let you know that they are there. Good luck and please let us know if there is a change.

Absolutely okay for you to call Acute Care..mention our name if you’d like..they know us there (we just dropped $500 on boarding and a cat spay a few weeks ago J). They probably also remember George. Nobody particular to ask for…Amy, Michelle, Theresa, and the 2 doctors know us the best. I called Amy the other day and told her we might have another ADT rescue coming their way. I do know they only do surgeries a couple days a week. If Acute Care does not work out there is a vet even closer to us called CareMore 706.650.1839. I have never used them, however a work friend who raises/rescues dogs uses and trusts them and based on her recommendation I am comfortable with them as well. They have a brand new building about .5 mile from us, so I figure if they can do that then must be making $$.
So he is 1yr old, lived w/ an autistic kid, is matted up..was he taken care of, loved, does he have any known issues? Any pictures? I’ve got Josh queued up to give him an extra special welcome J How big is he? Call me if you want…706.421.5170 or 706.228.1663
Johnny picked him up at Dog Camp today and on his way home, he stopped by Jill’s work and she was able to meet Ziggy in the parking garage. Dog Camp was $260 so about $20/night. Bob & Sally & Marsha spent 3 hours to groom Ziggy on Saturday.

They had advertised to sell him, and then they even offered him up for free, but the poor dog looked so bad, that nobody wanted him. I met the daughter in law by chance at Walmart, and started a conversation.The subject of dogs came up. She told me she had this pure breed dog that she was waiting for her mother in law to go to work, and then they were going to take him to the shelter, because they just couldn’t deal with him anymore. I had just recently seen a news story about how the majority of the dogs who were brought to the shelter by their owners were being euthanized, because the shelter was full and had to keep the strays a certain number of days. I couldn’t bare to let her take this dog to be euthanized, no matter how ugly (her words) he was, so I followed her home, and picked him up. I took him straight to a groomers to have him bathed and cut his hair short. The groomer said they had to wash him four times before all of the algae was out of his fur! I put him on Diamond Chicken and Rice and started bathing him weekly with Chlorhexidine shampoo, and put Frontline on him. The hair started growing back, and nearly completely covered all of the bare spots. That was back in March. When I picked him up, I never intended to keep him, because we had just moved into this tiny house with no back yard, and I knew he needed a place to run. But one day with Yogi was all it took to make me fall in love. I bought him chew hyde, and he took it from me, dropped it on the floor, and then came up to me and rubbed his head on me like a cat – almost like he was saying “thank you!” Then he picked up the treat and didn’t stop shewing on it until it was gone! When I got him, he had never been inside a house, so I housetrained him- He had an issue for a long time, where he would not go potty on the leash, so I bought a tye out and tied him to my neighbors privacy fence and walked away for 10 minutes or so, until he had done his business. He is better at going potty on the leash, now, as he has a certain spot in the neighborhod that he will relieve himself at when we are walking but he really needs a yard to run and play in. He really doesn’t have any bad habits, unless you count the time I he got in the garbage, but I started using a covered garbage can, and that doesnt happen anymore. He has this adorable little dance he does when it’s time to eat – he prances around like those famous horses! He has a personality that not many could resist, which is why I am confident that he will be a great pet for someone who can afford to treat his skin issues. I ran out of the chlorhexidine shampoo, and I am pretty sure he ate some of my 5 year old daughters corn nuggets, and his hair started falling out again. Their is now a stripe along his spine and his rump that has no hair left, and his skin is flaky and will get crusty, except I keep washing the crusties away with cheap flea shampoo (Hartz.) If I thought that on one more month my financial troubles would be over, I would keep him. But at this point, I am still struggling, and if he were to get heartworms or something like that because I was being selfish, I would never be able to forgive myself! I only ask that he go to a home where he will be an inside dog – (I firmly believe that you cannot treat a dog like a family member if they are spending the majority of the time outside when you are inside!) and I would like for him to be an only dog, if that is possible. He doesn’t get aggressive with other dogs, but he does get very irritated around my grown daughter’s bully bassett when he tries to get Yogi to play. -And if I pet another dog, Yogi suddenly becomes a big lapdog, wedging himself between me and the other dog. (He doesn’t like to share me!) I like the fact that there are little updates on the dogs on your FB page. I would at least like to know that he did find a home, and see a picture of him being happy in his new environment.

Hi, Christina Sorry this took so long- your email went into my spam folder, and it took me a little while to realize it. Here are some pictures I took yesterday of my sweet Yogi. I had to take him outside and tie him up in order to take them, because anytime I get down on my knees, he thinks it is playtime, and he tackles me with kisses! (Gosh, this is gonna be HAAARD!) Anyway, here they are – I wish I had the money to get him groomed before taking these, as he is soo handsome when he has had a fresh haircut! Please let me know what else I can do to make sure he finds the best home out there for him!

We know that there is a policy with Banfield for you to authorize for any information to be shared with ARG, specifically our volunteer who makes those calls. If you’d be so kind to call your vet and permit this information to Sue Taylor from ARG. Basically we’re checking to make sure that the animals are up to date on shots, etc.

july 30, Mrs Error called my cell, i was at work where i have to walk across the floor, outside to a porch to receive cell reception. she was calling about Ellie Mae and she wanted Ellie instead of Lucy Z due to size.I explained to her then that there was a delay due to computer issues and vacations. I remember that at least 6 times she said so all i need to do is WAIT? I explained yes, WAIT because of delays. there was nothign she could due to speed up the process. All she had to do was WAIT. Yes, you only can wait. She wanted to call BL at home and I said that it would not be wise because BL did no t have a computer and no reference to application plus she was going on a vacation. So Mrs Error said then all I can do is WAIT? Yes, I explained all she could do was WAIT. Yes, we repeated scenarios over and over for the concept of WAIT but it look like they did not understand that I explained to WAIT and they bought a puppy.

When I spoke to your wife on the phone on July 30, I had explained that our normal applicant volunteer was experiencing computer problems followed by a planned family vacation. She returned yesterday from her vacation. I had explained that i had a planned vacation as well last week. So, yes, we’re very delayed in our applicant care. We’re a two -woman show! I will call you this week one night, after 7pm.

Since we haven’t heard from anyone for so long we sort of gave up on your organization. Friday, we purchased a new pup. At this juncture, between training the new pup and my wife’s elderly father’s health issues, we have our hands full. We are presently running back and forth between Tennessee and Chicago. Had we known Friday that my wife’s father was going to have a setback, we probably would of held off on this purchase. Hopefully this situation will change for the better in the near future. As a result however, I don’t think we should take on a second dog at this time.
A month or two down the road however, I think we would again be interested. I assure you, there is not a better home anywhere on Earth than we what we provide. We would also like to help a rescue dog.
We would still like to talk to you. Feel free to call anytime you wish. After 7pm. Is just right.
I spoke to Lisa and their computer shows the last rabies shot was given in 2011, and that they have gotten medications in the last 3 months, and they had a surgery in June, 2012. She wasn’t too receptive about giving out names of their pets and the information that I just gave to you was all they were willing to tell me so I’m sure if you feel comfortable with them you could bring up what the vet office said to see if it makes sense to you and them….
