Chandra said that he loves water. He wants to go swimming in her creek. He seems fine with her cats and it was reported that he loves cats. She heard that the couple who had him were young. THey got a job in Charlotte, NC. They signed the lease and there were certain dogs that were forbidden but not Airedale. When they got to the apartment, the landlord said Airedales were forbidden. Owner was friends with the director of Jackson County Humane Society and she surrendered Ollie to them. Apparently she was in tears and Josh really could not understand anything she was saying. She was very upset to have to surrender Ollie.
I asked Marti to help – she cannot because she has a young puppy. Bill & Jane Cole in Waynesville will help with transport. LuAnn Bryan will foster on Sunday!
Also asked Holly who adopted Gravy/Abraham and Debbie Powell and her son Brandon Powell – all who said they would foster

Hey Christina thank you so much for willing to pull him. I talked with Chandra last night and she told me she had you lined up. Attached are 2 pictures, the best I could do, he is very hyper this morning.
He is an owner surrender but I’m not sure how long she has had him. She was very upset when she brought him in and it was hard to get much information out of her. She said he was around 6-7 yrs. When asked if she had taken him to the vet she said no, that is why I believe she got him from someone and he is neutered. We are able to do him as an immediate because she is friends with my supervisor and he knows this is her dog.
I went ahead this morning and gave him a Rabies Vax and I can give a DA2PPV also. I wish I could help more with vet records.
just asked Kate if she still wanted HV. apologized that I dropped the ball on HV.
Hi Christina [and Barbara],
I just got off the phone with Evelin. Turns out they live less than 5 miles from my house [in fact, I have probably passed their house a million times since I am a grad of Lakeside High School and they live a couple of blocks from there]. I plan to pick up Jazmine tomorrow afternoon on my way home from Tucker Middle School [got to finish PACKING my old room]. I know Jazmine needs to be spayed. Let me know the procedure for that and I will arrange it [or go by what ya’ll arrange]. I think Evelin is very relieved, expecially when she found out I live so close. She’s obviously been through a lot.
I will look for your responses. Call me if you need–please use my CELL number: 770-851-9581. I have it with me at all times.
Flora and I are about to go for a walk so we will be in touch with you SOON.
Deb

Hi Deb
Barbara Lawson and I talked tonight and it sounds like you are up for helping us with “Jazmine”.
I spoke with the owner, named Evelin tonight. She has a new premie baby and it sounds like the baby needs constant feeding. Plus, she has two other kids. I think that Jazmine quickly fell to the bottom of the priority list. Would you be able to go to Evelins’ and pick up Jazmine? Evelin is pretty much bed ridden. I’d like to help her out by not having her to take Jazzie anywhere.
She said that any night after 6pm (husband home) or on Saturday/weekend would be good for her to have someone come to her house. I will send a note and introduce you two and suggest a time that works for you. THen you can work out specific details with Evelin about when you could get there.
Evelin applied with ARG about 3 years ago and we knew it’d be very difficult to find a dog for her – young kids and a cat. Her husband brought her home a dog (Jazmine) and she had her all this time. She said that she had a very difficult pregnancy and early delivery and she cannot handle the kids and a dog. I assured her that we’d find a wonderful home for Jazmine. Her main concern was – you won’t send her to a shelter? Of course not!
I’ll send another note that cover both of you – do you have any questions/concerns?
This is her info-

Hi Deb,
We were notified just last night of a 3 year old female airedale in Atlanta who is being surrendered to us. Her name is Jazmine.
Mom has new baby after difficult pregnancy, and three other young children. Knows she cannot devote the right level of attention.
According to surrender document, she has not been spayed, so that would have to be taken care of right away. Of course ARG will pay for that, but will need a few quiet days for recovery.
What do you and Flora think about having a guest for a while?
CC’ing Christina, our intake coordinator on this note.
Don’t hesitate to say no, we have other people in the area we can ask, but Christina thought of you two.

Recommend Brentwood, TN for HV as it is about 25 minutes away. Rosemary Walters or the Stewarts are good options.
I spoke to Evelin and she has been on bed rest due to difficult pregnancy. She had a baby that was a premie. The baby requires constant feeding. She has 2 other children. She cannot handle the dog too. Deb Hadaway committed to taking into foster. WIll need to get spayed.Jazmine expected to go into heat in August. I asked Bay to call her vet and get her records. Deb H. is off for summer. Back up is Mary Mc.
CP to arrange details for pick up on Saturdy June 2.
I spoke briefly to Evelin and assured her that the dog would not go to a shelter.
History summary
In late April there was a post on Craiglist about Murphy. It was in a town north of Nashville. I contacted the poster and no response. I sent it to Mary Dams to pursue on her own, if she was interested and she did pursue and went to the town after school and paid $1XX??? It was $150? I cannot remember. The dog lived with the family for only one week. They were used to Dobermens and Murphy was not housetrained. In his previous home, he had lived with a toy breed dog. In this home, there were young children and chickens and cats. Going into Mary’s home, this met a lot of her criteria.
Thanks, maybe talking to you will help…been a stressful week. Today, he let Paul take him on a walk and he would only go so far from home and then wanted to go back….walked back fine. Then we all went on a walk and he was fine. Yesterday, didn’t want to go back in house because of Paul…strangest stuff….talk to you soon, I have school finish work and meetings Tues and Weds. 8-3

Hi, Not sure on timing or if Murphy Dams will be surrendered. Thinking he would be good except they want a female and Murphy has proven to be very afraid of men. Never mind on my thought there 🙂
Ruth Tuft update
Mattie had one little episode of growling at Goob before dinner. Then we went downstairs and he showed her the dog door and took her outside to potty. They’ve been pretty close since. Goob waited for Mattie to eat first, then he ate his dinner. Afterward, Mattie heard a thunderstorm coming, and she was terrified! Imagine being in a strange house, with strange people, and a sorm coming! She tried to get under the coffee table, but she didn’t fit, poor baby. She spent the entire storm sitting on my feet, with me petting her and telling her it would be OK. The cat walked up to her, and she growled a little bit. I admonished her for growling, and she growled at me. I’m sorry, but no dog is going to growl at me! I scolded her for growling, and she took it pretty well. I told her that if she wanted to carry on that way, she’d have to go to the basement. (If she hadn’t been scared stiff, I might have had a fight on my hands.) I think her growling was fear of the thunderstorm, and there was no malice intended. The cat is, in Yiddish, a NUDGE – an annoying pest. The storm ismostly passed now, and she has relaxed. She’s asleep right behind me in the office. Poor Mattie couldn’t fit under the coffee table, but Goob is asleep on the couch with his head under a pillow! The cat is asleep on the back of the couch.
