This is a difficult email to write, but it needs to be done.
Melissa and I have split up and we need to find a home for Ozzie.
Unfortunately, Melissa’s apartment will not allow Ozzie, because of his size and with the way that I travel it is not fair to Ozzie, for him to stay with me. I am away from home 3 to 5 days a week.
Oz has become such a wonderful friend to both of us, it pains me to write this.
Please advise on the best course of action to take.
Thank you,
Chris McCarthy

Subject: Re: How’s Winnie
Christina:
I am trying to get Winnie a license and they sent back the form saying that I needed proof of her spaying. I don’t think I got that from you. Can you scan it and send me a copy?
I know I mentioned that Winnie got out that one time, but it happened again about a month and a half ago. She got out and she attacked another dog that was being walked on a leash. It was pretty bad. The other dog had some serious puncture wounds on her leg. That being said, it has not happened again and we are trying to figure out how to train her on this. She has been to the dog park twice and has done VERY well. She also did well at our house with Paddington when we were gone for two weeks and had a pet sitter coming in. So, we know we have to be extremely careful with keeping her contained. We are also trying to socialize her more with dogs, by walking more frequently and will also try to take her to the dog park more. I don’t know that we can ever train the aggressive tendency out of her and it does make us uncomfortable that we don’t know if we can trust her. It doesn’t make a lot of sense with how sweet she is otherwise, and even submissive when I try to correct her.
Any advice you have would be helpful, but we are probably just going to have to find the right trainer. I don’t know with her prey instinct that I can ever get her to stay and come back on command when off leash. We hope to try and see where we get.
Thanks,
Lisa
P.S. She loves running with my husband and they have even done over 4 miles together! She gets very upset if she sees him getting ready to go for a run and he doesn’t take her!

Subject: Maya
Hi Amy & Khaliah, I want to introduce the two of you. Amy is the surrendering owner of Maya and she lives in NC. Khaliah is an approved ARG applicant and hopes to adopt an Airedale soon. Khaliah lives in Atlanta area. I would like the two of you to exchange phone #s and a time that is good to talk to each other about Maya. I have explained to Khaliah how wonderful Maya is and shared photos with her. Of course, the photos are endearing but talking to each other will really give you an idea about how Maya is. Khaliah is aware that Maya and Gretchen had an altercation that ended in Gretchen having a broken jaw (?). Please talk amongst your selves. Khaliah will let me know if she is interested in meeting Maya. Thanks!
