Sam has done fantastic with boarding and training and have gone back to the Huber’s. They have agreed to adopt him. Contract waiting to be sent and signed. A good ending for Sam and the Huber’s. Their son, Cash, will be mainly responsible for training and taking care of Sam. He is very excited to have his own dog.
January 19, 2026 at 2:51 pm in reply to: 25-28 Sam, Male-Intact, Atlanta GA, good with other dogs & cat, not used to children #34649the Huber’s have been fostering Sam for several months now.He has had some aggression issues and bit their son. He has been resource guarding the trash can and gotten into a few things.
We tried to do zoom with Nicole for training but they didn’t follow through and the wife and son are having a hard time handling Sam, he is strong. They decided that they would have to send him for training or put him in another foster home. they all love him so much and he gets along with their 2 Female Airedales.
We paid for Sam to spend a month with Nicole in NC for training. The Huber’s have been watching and learning all the training videos Nicole has sent. They missed him and said they would definitely try again and also adopt. They went on 1/18/26 to NC to Nicole so she could do some one on one training with the family, mostly their son, Cash, since Sam will be his dog, primarily. They took him home after that (last night). Details to follow………

January 19, 2026 at 2:27 pm in reply to: 2026-1 Robin Gibson, St. Petersburg Beach FL, ADT exp, 1 ADT, good fence #34647references and vet check wonderful. I am going to finish the process with the HV but she told me she had also applied at FL Poodle Rescue. She messaged me on 1/18 and told me she was able to adopt a female on Saturday 1/17/26. She said she would also consider another Dale if the right one came along but having now 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 birds it might be a little challenging. I am friends with her and going to visit her on 1/25/26 so I will complete the HV anyways.

January 12, 2026 at 2:35 pm in reply to: 2026-1 Robin Gibson, St. Petersburg Beach FL, ADT exp, 1 ADT, good fence #34570Robin has a big fenced in yard and lives by the beach in St Pete. She has an 11.5 year old Airedale boy, Ozzie. She also has two 8 year old cats and 2 African Gray birds. She lost her female, Sunny, which was my Wally’s littermate within the last year and would like another female friend for Ozzie. She takes him out to the dog beach by her and lots of walks on the island and needs a social female. She doesn’t really have an age preference, just when the right one comes along. It will be a challenge since she has the 2 cats and the 2 birds. (all 4 of those are rescues).
I will do a home visit soon since she is by me. I still need to call references but wanted to get the phone interview notes in. She is a great home and very experienced with Dales and knows it will take some time to find the right fit.Details to follow………………………
September 17, 2025 at 8:02 pm in reply to: 2025 Josephine Rauwerda, Beverly Hills FL, 1 dog, good fence ADT exp Wants Large Male #33956Josephine and Jerry has adopted a female Airedale from me at SAF, September 2024.
Prior owner of Airedales and have done wonderful with training Bella the adopted. She had a few issues but now has the run of the house and several dog beds throughout. They are very active and live on 2 acres and half is fenced. they also have a pool and dogs will be attended in that area. They don’t live by or on a busy road and they take Bella daily on car rides to mainly see the horses that are in their area. They are looking to add a male companion for her. Bella is approx 70 lbs so the male would have to be comparable in size, they told me. Bella does very well with other dogs. Reference Elaine loves Bella and says they have done a great job with her.
Home visit was done by SAF member with high praise to her home and property. I absolutely approve them to adopt.August 29, 2025 at 3:21 pm in reply to: 2025 Sydney Kermeen Winterville NC good fence, ADT as child _adopt IONA 10/2025 #33871I talked with second reference and her previous vet. Second reference said she is a great pet owner, took her Airedale everywhere, well socialized with her dog and others.
Vet reference: she kept up to date on all shots on her previous Airedale, teddy. She did have him on trifexis that she ordered from petmeds, she did not purchase from the vet’s office.
She is good to go for a HV.
August 26, 2025 at 7:39 pm in reply to: 2025 Sydney Kermeen Winterville NC good fence, ADT as child _adopt IONA 10/2025 #33857I talked with Sydney on August 25th. She has grown up with large dogs, Boxer, Lab, border Collie. When she lived on her own, she got an Airedale, Teddy. He developed DM and he left her at 10 years old. She has been without a dog since 2023 but is now in a stable place, finished her residency and now in a large home, fenced in yard and ready for another Airedale. Her partner is good with a dog in the house. The only issue I have is they both work and gone from the house during the week for at least 8-9 hours. She doesn’t really have a plan during the day to let the dog out. Possible friend or would look in to a day care. I said if the dog is to be crated at first, 9 hours is way too long for the dog to be home alone. She understood that but didn’t really offer what she would do….
I have talked to one of her references so far, Destiny Watkins. She told me Sydney was a fantastic dog owner and they would get together all the time with their dogs. Destiny moved to CO recently but told me Sydney would be wonderful as a dog parent.I will add more info from second reference and the prior vet she had. I think we should do a HV and get more information out of her as to what her plan is for a dog while she is working.

July 28, 2025 at 6:16 pm in reply to: 2025-32 Joanne and Karl Kinscherf, Myrtle Beach SC, good fence, prior adopter, approved. #33714Karen delivered Beau to Joanne and Karl July 27, 2025 for foster to adopt. He did great his first night there. I emailed foster contract to them 7/28/25, waiting for them to sign and return. I am pretty sure they are keeping him.
He needs a haircut! LOLJuly 8, 2025 at 2:32 pm in reply to: 2025-27 Heidi Strapp, Martinez GA, Good fence, grew up with ADT, 8+ hours alone #33649Her vet called me back and told me her last dog they had seen for 16 years. She has kept up with all vaccines, heartworm and flea meds, also. So that is great to know!
July 8, 2025 at 2:28 pm in reply to: 2025-27 Heidi Strapp, Martinez GA, Good fence, grew up with ADT, 8+ hours alone #33646Heidi is great. She has no dogs right now, it has been a year since her Aussie passed away. She does work 8 to 4:30 but her daughter has and will help out when she gets another dog in the afternoons. She is very active being a pediatric nurse, so an Airedale would be a good fit for her. She grew up with Airedales and Schnauzers so she knows their temperament and needs. She said she would use a crate if needed but the dog would have run of the house and allowed on furniture. If she has gone anywhere, she has family that would stay at her home. The dog needs to get along with other dog’s as her daughter comes over and has a dog and her one reference has a standard poodle that she sees often. Both of her references has given her high recommendations as a pet owner. She can also afford the care for an Airedale and understands what it takes. If training is needed, she would do it. She has a fenced in yard with a dog door that opens into the yard.
She is open to adopting a male or a female. She is ready anytime. the only concern is her gone all day, but she has her daughter to help mid day.I initially did their phone application. They both are retired and are Airedale experienced. They want a 4-5 year old that is fairly well trained. They have a huge fenced in yard and on a corner lot on a small island so they have no outside traffic driving through. Other Airedales live close to them. they just recently lost their Airedale male and was wanting to move forward with a HV after the first of the year. They are retired and are very active so the dog will get plenty of exercise. They know all of the requirements for licensing, heartworm treatment and shots needed. Vet check was excellent, so no issues there. When they are ready for a HV, they will be a great home for a well behaved (LOL) Airedale.
