I emailed Jody and asked her if she could explain why they would not give her a reference. We’ll see. (Knowing the husband got custody of the Airedales makes me wonder as well.)

October 25, 2018 at 5:31 pm in reply to: Private: Selena (Jody) Sproul Nelson, Mooresville, NC 28115 #2022210/24/18: Finally connected with Jody. (She goes by both Selena and Jody and said she had no preference.)
She and her brother share a home. He’s 53 and retired from Fed govt and is home all the time. She is a dental assistant and works about 20 hrs a week, so one of them is always home. There are no children in the home.
They have a securely fenced yard approx 1/2 acre and the back door opens to the fenced area.
Tell me about your previous Airedales; where did you get them; how long you had them; what happened to them. She bought them in NC, near Raleigh, Gerardo! 2 females from different litters, as part of the divorce, husband got the 2 Airedales. They were 4 and 6. She kept the WFT who recently died; he was nearly 15; kept in touch with breeders in Lincolnton NC, Eakers, the mother and sister and uncles. All have died. When she was young, she had 2 JRTs. Never any trouble training any of the.
She and husband taught sit, lay, no problems with house breaking. Hard time with WFT to go potty in the grass. All loved the pool, all knew not to get in pool and wait to put on their life jackets. (No longer have a pool.)
We talked about Rosie, as an example of how a rescued dog might be – untrained, wild, needing lots of training and patience and attention. She said she would love that.
I like her and will find a HV.

Hi Ann,Thank you for submitting an adoption application for a SOAR rescue Airedale. Was there a specific dog you were interested in? Also, have you contacted your local North Carolina Airedale rescue group? I have copied their state coordinator on this email. She can assist you in the approval process and make you aware of any dogs they may have available. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me anytime.
Again, thank you for the application and good luck with your search.

Subject: FINAL Transport Plan: Molly/Marley to Kim Kelly & Eric CameronHello, all. Thank you all for being willing to help Molly get from her owner to her new home with Kim Kelly & Eric Cameron. Molly is a 2.5 year old beautiful, sweet, happy, healthy Airedale of 70 lbs. She loves everyone and rides great in the car. She does like to jump on you, but will calm down if you gently pet her and push her off. She will be wearing a harness (that she doesn’t particularly like) and a collar and leash. Please keep her leash attached to the harness and to the collar or use a second leash so that you always have a hand on her leash. Keep the end of the leash closed outside of the car door just enough so that you can have your hand on the leash before you open her door (but not so much that the flapping in the wind will drive you and her crazy). This is especially important as you transfer her to her next person. Remember that she will probably be confused and anxious. She will be traveling with a ziplock bag of her food, her bed, and maybe a toy or two.

10/19/18: Called Sharon Adams to ask her to transport Molly from Anderson SC to Spartanburg and found out her husband just died this week. She says it was from the pneumonia shot! He was fine but had his shot at the dr’s office on Monday, on Tuesday he was having trouble breathing and went to ER and was in ICU 7 days and died. Whew.

Subject: Re: ClarificationsI’m so sorry. I actually used Dr Smith for Dixie in the past, but most recently used a different vet with Dixie and I’ll get you their information. I don’t get the Heartguard from the vet.
I didn’t have any knowledge about the electric fence, but it’s going to be approximately 4 more weeks before the wooden privacy fence will be installed. As for Airedale’s darting across to the neighbors or chasing after other animals, I do understand. I always took Dixie & any others I kept inside on a harness & leash when we’d go outside unless they were in a fenced area.
From the description Rosie sounded like a rambunctious 2-year Old Airedale. It was my hope that she might easily adjust to Bentley. My main concern would be June, although she’s only supposed to be here temporarily.
As for walking & exercising, despite the RA, I do enjoy walking whether it’s at the park or in my neighborhood or at the gym. I miss having an Airedale to walk with.
If you have a better option for Rosie to be placed with I certainly understand but would like for you to keep my application on file in case another dale comes up. Hopefully that would give me time to get the fence put up & for June to be moved to her permanent residence.Sincerely,
Lana Byrd
