I was going to head down and purchase one of those $5 tags with his name/phone number as a temp. But PLEASE send that ARG tag! In the meantime, I’m using Wilson’s tag on his collar, just in case he should bolt.
Trust me, at tomorrow’s vet visit, he will have a collar and a harness with 2 leashes on. Initially, he’s terrified; then he’s “okay” with the situation. But he would/will bolt if he gets loose. He’s back to following his mentor around after his bath. Even with kindness, he will ‘bolt’ out of a room if I walk through it or approach him. Put the lead on him, and he’s fine and walks beside you like a champ.
He really doesn’t answer to Teddy. Photo’s coming soon. I can’t decide what his name should be, but it should be a strong, proud and brave name. For all his fear, once he does something, he “owns” it.

Hi, I am going to call in the ARG cc tomorrow to Lins vet. From what we can tell, Teddy has no vetting. Also she will talk to her vet about the neuter, there is a low cost alternative nearby but will see what her dr says. I think Lin may need to go out and get a collar, which of course we will reimburse
Lin, what is your mailing address. I will put an ARG tag in the mail, if you don’t mind attaching to his collar.
Adopted by Lesa Parrott.

Thank you for looking into adopting a rescued Airedale.
Please let me know a good time to call you to go over our process, and your hopes and expectations.
It sounds like you are not that familiar with the breed, although a friend of yours has one.
We’ll talk about that, your home and no-fence environment, and other issues. So it would be good to have a half hour or so to speak.
Evenings or weekends sounds like best for you?

Hi Thomas and Mary Jo,
Thank you for looking into adopting a rescued Airedale.
You mentioned Henry in your application. He has been adopted. We do not often get ‘dales that young in our program, so if you are looking for a puppy or very young one, you would be better served by seeking out a reputable breeder.
I don’t want to waste your time or mine if you want to find a puppy.
If you’d like to continue on, please let me know a good time to call you to go over our process, and learn about your hopes and expectations. I’ll have a number of questions and issues to go over. I am retired, and can available most any time at your convenience if I know ahead of time.

Last week an employee from the veterinary clinc called me and left MSG. She said that she worked at the clinic and was interested in fostering. I called her a couple of times last week but never got her live. I called on way to work on Monday. She was working at the kennel but could talk. She said she cannot foster bc they are so dog aggressive, she said she cried when she figured it out. She said they are very sweet one on one. But they have to keep kennels empty beside them bc they kennel fight, even to other dogs. Ugh.
They have been neutered . I had that done when they went into kennel.

My understanding was that they fought w/ each other, but like females. Did I misread and it is female persons, not female dogs?
Also see they are both intact, which certainly would make a difference, I would think.
So the surrendering owner told you that?

I asked her when she mailed in her check. She said 7.21 to Barbara Yager.
She hasn’t seen that bank statement yet, but said she would check.
Phone interview 9/29.
Kelsie is a nurse, with varying schedules, but usually 8 hour days, Husband has office job, away 8 hours.
Re no fence, she seemed to understand that e-fence is same as no fence for airedales.
Pleasant young woman.
Need to figure out home visitor or ask for second interview.
One hours northeast of Nashville, near KY border.
From Ohio, her parents and other family still there, including the aunt who has an airedale.
Local contact people listed are her husband’s sister and family, have a chocolate lab.
Hello Ginny,
Thank you for looking into adopting a rescued Airedale.
You expressed an interest in Henry. He was placed yesterday. So if you are only interested in a puppy or very young adult, I cannot promise another will come along any time soon., and you would be better served finding a reputable breeder. The most common age to come into our program are 3-5 years old, as well as seniors.
Let me know if you would like to proceed in our process, and a good time to call you to go over your hopes and expectations.
We will discuss the fact that you have no fenced yard, and have never lived with an Airedale.
I look forward to hearing from you.

September 29, 2013 at 10:35 am in reply to: Private: James Huron, former adopter, Huntsville, AL (2023) #11963Picked up Henry at short notice 9/28.
Posted to FB that they have adopted her.
Barbara,
Thank you for your speedy response. I will be available later this afternoon around 3pm, anytime tomorrow after 1pm or Mon-Fri in the evenings.
We recently moved into our home and are looking into getting an invisible dog fence for our current dog. My current dog came to us from my parents. I prefer not to go through a breeder. I would like to go through a dog shelter/animal rescue as those are the dogs whom truly need a home.
I look forward to speaking with you.
Thanks,
Kelsie McMurtry

Hello Kelsie and family,
Thank you for looking into adopting a rescued Airedale. And condolences on the recent loss of your bulldog.
Although you have not lived with an Airedale before, it is good that you know a little about the breed through your aunt.
Please let me know a good time to call you to go over our process, and learn about your hopes and expectations.
A couple of things that we will discuss are the fact that you do not have a solid fence, and that you have a small dog.
You mentioned Henry, just recently posted on our website. We rarely get very young dogs into our program, so as you might imagine, he has generated a lot of interest. If you are primarily interested in a puppy or very young dog, you may be better served by seeking out a reputable breeder.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Spoke to Courtney and their beagle was up to date on everything and had been on lots of medications so he sounds like he was well cared for…
