She told me “when my husband is ready, he’s ready”. I thought oh, they went to a breeder.
No, They adopted over the weekend an 1 yr airedale with medical issues, including broken leg. She had been running loose for who knows how long. She was informed via a vet colleague at the other end of the state, and they decided they would offer to care for her, and it would be much cheaper than what the clinic would have to charge.
She is scared and skittish, but only there for a few days. They intend to rehab and keep her.
She wants us to keep her contact information on file. She would be willing to offer vet advice if asked.
I will move to Moved on- like us

Barbara, the gal at their vet hospital said that their dog LD was up to date on all shots and is on flea and HW meds. She also said that they are great pet owners and go above and beyond for their pets!

Christina suggested as possible for Rowdy. Especially as close in distance.
BL will put them together to talk.

The owner will pick gabby up at Caring Hands in the AM. I know this is crazy. I’ve never had an owner ask for the dog back. I really think this is the best decision for Gabby and for ARG as she would not be super easy/quick to place. apparently the son of the owner is coming to pick her up on the 20th and will drive her and Gabby and drive back to Oregon. I guess they will pull a trailer. I got the understanding that owner had lived in Oregon prior to living in Tn. Her cell # is Oregon.
Molly, can we use Caring Hands as a holding place? You drop off and owner picks up?

Thanks for response.
Blue (great Dane will be 5 in Dec.) bloated at 11 months on a weekend. We took him to the Small Animal Emergency Service, 5091 US Hwy 1, Vass NC, 910-246-0405. Dr. Ann Turner performed a 3.5 hour surgery to save his life. His stomach rolled over twice. He was also neutered at that time.
Chewpy (9 year old Irish Setter) has not been neutered.
Best time to reach me 5 – 7PM at home 910-692-4567. I can also be reached on my cell if I am not at home 910-922-1750.

This one is a bit complicated…he takes them to Ft. Bragg for some vaccines and to Dr. Pelkey for other issues. I believe they are up to date on rabies shots but according to the receptionist at Dr, Pelkey’s office it says that both of their dogs, Blue and Cinnamon have not been neutered so I would think that would be an issue.

Barbara,
These people live very close to me and use the same vet as we do…if you need a home visit done, I’d be glad to do it!

October 30, 2013 at 3:44 pm in reply to: Private: Andrea Howell – Savannah GA 31419 Returning adopter #13731hanks Barbara. I just read your email and I had just called Mary and she told me. I am delighted because we had decided not to adopt another one right now. So this worked out perfectly. I will keep in touch and let you know when we are ready again. Thanks

Andrea,
Minime may not be available for adoption after all. Mary, her foster mom, very much enjoyed speaking with you, but she told me last night that she and Annecy have become very attached to her. Keeping a foster is always the prerogative of the foster family, and I have to say it happens fairly often. “Failed fostering” we call it.
So we need to move on to find another companion for you and Jaz.
Please clarify one issue for me: Mary mentioned you told her you had not completely discussed adding another dog with your husband. Obviously, we want the entire family to be whole-heartedly in favor of the process.

Hi, our faithful friend Bill notified me recently that he was still available for dog transport (remember, Bill is a paid transporter) in Knox area. The only wrench is that he no longer has a Volvo. See note below
Hi Christina,
Thanks for asking me to transport awhile back.
I had to say no; all our vehicles are switched round; I didn’t reliable vehicle. I have a ’06 GMC Sierra 1500 truck now that might serve; dog would have be in a crate, tied down of course, in the bed.
Bill
I’m not sure how comfortable I am with this scenario for transporting our dales. Just FYI and remind me when I forget this 🙂
