hi
you should get a fax today from Jill Dutton’s vet in Union SC of all of the things done to him over yesterday.
She said that he is a ‘hunk’ and for a moment she thought of her Grady who is an old man but then the ‘hunk’ did his moment where he obeyed her when she asked him to heel but she thought that look in his eye where he had the thought that ‘sure, i’ll do it now but i may not do this again’ and she realized how lucky she is to have Grady who is soooo sweet.

Union Jack is with Robert Bailey in Landrum, SC. Robert took him to Petsmart last night and he said that Union Jack clearly knew what it meant to go into that kind of store. He greeted people and other animals nicely. Rides in the car, settles in the house like he knows what ihe is doing. Roberts girlfriend walked in and he raised his head and went back down to sleeping. He is full of ticks and Robert put Advantix on him. Union Jack did try to take down the baby goat – so his assessment is that he cannot be with smaller animals but I really think we wait a bit longer and we’ll hear if he allows him to play with Roberts lawnmower again. His 10 y/o daughter arrives home today and I said if she thought of a good name for him then she should rename him. Oh he has an injury on his leg, near the elbow and bicep area that causes him to limp. He says it looks like his has almost been caught in a fox trap. I was surprised we did not hear this input from Jill Duttons vet but I dno’t know what the medical papers say. Vet was supposed to fax to bay.
Morning Ladies,
Well its been a week that Brandi has joined our family. She is so sweet, we should have called her “Shadow” because
she is always following one of us. My two dogs like her, but I think they can sense she is still not feeling well. During
the day, I take her outside once an hour to go pee, she has not learned yet to go to the door, but we are working on it
Couple of things I discovered/or she did that surprised me: last night while eating her dinner, she paused for a moment,
pooped right there, and continued eating ~ little strange. Because we do not have a doggie door, and I do not get up every
hour to let her out, there is always 3 – 5 pee spots to clean up in the morning, and usually one poop. You can tell she
knows its wrong, and always looks like she is in trouble. I explain it to her, and we go outside. No yelling of course.
We are working on it,on it, but until her bladder becomes stronger, I think it will continue. I am thankful I have hardwood
floors, but she is not allowed to sleep in any of the bedrooms (sad face). I got up at 4 oclock this morning cause I could hear
her scrambling about, I found her in the kitchen laying is a huge pile of pee, and poop ~ she could not stand up because the floor
was wet, without thinking I tried to help her up…. we have found, if you try to help her stand, she will growl and try to bite you. I think
her hips and legs are still sore. She did with my help stand up, and I brought her outside for a good cleaning.
She does not like being outside, probably the heat. When she does go out, she goes right off the porch to pee, and
then immediately goes back to the door. Yesterday it was cool, so I tried to make the dogs relax outside. Brandi
stood at the back door just staring at me ~ she looked so sad, I let her in, let all of them in and they all napped in
the living room.
My daughter, Mikayla wanted Brandi to be “her” dog. but after a couple scarey growls and bite attempts, she has decided
to let her be “moms” baby.
She has taken a liking to my husband Mike, and stands by his chair at night. She tries to get up in the chair with him or
I, but is not strong enough yet.
She eats well, doesn’t walk around and pant as much, and seems more comfortable in the house. She has tried to play
with Izzie, but Izzie is a clutzy boxer and gets too rough, so the look at each other, do a little hop with front feet and she’s
done. If I lay down on the floor, next to the doggie beds, she will lay on the floor next to me after alot of begging, and rest.
We continue with her medicine, and lots of love, hoping her bladder gets stronger, and her hips and legs don’t hurt as much.
I will send you ladies a photo, and keep you up to date on her progression. Or I am sure you will see something on facebook.

I spoke with his vet today. He is behind on heart worm prevention and Bordetella vac. as of April. Up to date on everything else.
per email from molly pike I sent old banjo records to kelly bryant by email. these were very light and never faxed properly to molly’s vet.
July 2, 2011 at 3:12 pm in reply to: Private: Lucky Levi, Mix, BAY, fostered in Charlotte, likely adopted all ready #12187HI! I am not sure if this boy is Airedale but he seems to be a mix of one. I was hoping you can help this boy. I need a response quickly since his hold time is up.
I was driving home from SC on Friday and I saw this dog laying in the middle of the median. I pulled over to check him out and he looked pretty bad. He was skinny, dirty, panting hard, and bloody. He was obviously hit by a car but he also looks like he has been on his own for a while.
I called Animal Control and they came and picked him up. I wasn’t sure his condition or if he would survive and they said that the shelter staff was compassionate and will try and help him so I let them take this boy to the animal shelter.
Turns out that he might just have a fracture in his leg. The shelter does NOT have the funds to fix his leg and really needs a rescue to step up or he will probably be euthanized.
After probing and picking this boy up and even know you can see he was scared of us doing all of this to him; he never once growled or bit or anything. He seems like a sweet dog and REALLY deserves a chance at a good life
If I can find a rescue that will financially support him; I can work on a transport to get him from SC to where needed. I can also foster him if needed; I am located in Quakertown, Pennsylvania.
The shelter will give him Vaccs and they have wormed him. Not sure about HW test, but I can ask if they will do that also. He is being treated with antibiotics and his leg has been temporarily splinted.
Attached is a picture of him…
THanks for ANY help!!!

Bay,
Meant to tell you that my vet did finally get the fax of Banjo’s records but they were totally illegible. They took my word for it that he had his shots and was heart worm negative. So…… I do not have any vet records to pass on, if needed, no rabies certificate or tag. (Dr B probably has another bill that needs to be paid.)
Banjo did come to us with a standard red collar but we switched it out for a choke collar (not the chain kind) so he couldn’t get away from us. The couple we met when we got Banjo used a prong collar on him but I am not fond of them. Don’t remember if the collar had a tag on it but I’ll check.

I don’t know what the Banjo Boy (yes I just like the sound of it) has as far as collar and leash. I hope he has an ID tag with ARG contact info for now, Molly does he? So to be on the safe side, please bring a collar and leash. I don’t know what crate he escaped from.
ARG takes care of the paperwork, the contract and the adoption donation fee. The other Barbara, copied here, sends the placement agreement and contract out. As always, it stipulates that if for any reason, he is not the dale for you, he will be returned to ARG.
I am hoping this will be a great match. You are very fortunate that you have the opportunity to meet him before making the decision.
I have an article or two with hints about introducing a new adoptive dog to your family. All pretty common sense, but good things to think about. I will send to you, Kelly,.
Please let me know how everything goes tomorrow.

EEK!!! I didn’t mean to overstep. If you all can place her, I’ll back off. I was not aware that she had come to you all as well. So sorry if I am out-of-line. Let me know what you want to do. To Barbara Y — this dog would not be going to Mr. Wright as I have people who have been waiting longer and would be the first ones to call. Cindy

Hi Cindy
I guess we both reached out to the woman who posted on the Airedale Terriers group that rescue would take her grandmother’s dog. Since she was in AL, I reached out to her for ARG as it is one of hte states we support and have folks – especially in B’ham.
Sounds like you all are picking her up on the 11th. If this is the case, we have the surrendering documentation. Just let us know since I had folks on call to go and get her.

Christina,
Jenny was a tad spooked when I met her, perhaps by the dog-ruckus that had accompanied her to the waiting room; I figure the other inmates wanted out too.
She didn’t want to meet me, despite my ingratiation efforts, and spun around the tech. The tech and I spoke; last pee pee, last meal, paperwork, and etceteras. I declined tech’s offer to help, took hold of leash, Jenny pulled away and around a bit, and out we went. She was eager, but a bit spooked by traffic noise.
I’d already opened wagon back and kennel. but she didn’t want to go in, and she pulled around and around some, spooked by noise, flinching and shying away. I just decided, well, I’ll pick her up, wrapping my arms ’round back hinds and front legs, and up, into the kennel, no problems, and latched the door, and we’re off. We were both relieved. And she settled in, but wondering too, turning round so and so, but then, no worries.
The pick spot was great with shady grassy area, quiet, and shielded from traffic noises and sights. Out Jenny bounded and took relief. Jenny and I sat close in the grass, enjoyed the evening light and breeze, enjoyed each other being, I holding close the leash, and watching and listening ’round. I softly whispered to her; and I got just a wee little face nuzzle; nice, that was, I felf a great compliment.
Abagail and Matt arrived and Jenny went right to Abagail, nuzzled her, and, well, I was history. Jenny ignored Matt, which seemed to please him, for he said so. Matt was smiling, in fact smiles all around.
Nice, all around; thank you.

July 2, 2011 at 1:38 pm in reply to: Private: Lucky Levi, Mix, BAY, fostered in Charlotte, likely adopted all ready #12186BAY was contacted by gal in PA Shari Reich who stopped to pick up a hurt dog on highway 501 coming back from Mrytle Beach, SC. Shari contacted the county and they took the dog to the shelter. BAY and CP could not find anyone to transport the dog after a week so BAY drove to Marion Cty Shelter and picked up Levi and Dixie a lab mix with 4 month sore on foot. Both dogs went to Dr nicks. Levi had his leg pinned and is with a friend of Tammy Crutchfield (friend of Shari in Charlotte). After surgery Levi went to Carol, Tammy’s friend. Carol will complete adoption and pay$100 for Levi, now Arnie. Carol will probably pay for after care as well. ARG and Shari ran a fund raiser for Levi’s surgery at $1000.
July 1, 2011 at 6:34 pm in reply to: Private: Carly Stewart, Atlanta, GA Apt dweller interested in Levi Mix #12183Carly wrote to say she is interested in Lucky Levi mix. However he is with foster parents and may stay. At any rate can’t move for 6 weeks until bone is healed and pin is out. Very very sweet and non complicated dog. Never showed any pain at all. ARG Volunteer, this app was stripped of it’s email. You will need to call and get email addy. and explain that foster home has first dibs on Levi. He will be available in 6 weeks.
