She called me one day during work and I missed her call. They did not adopt an Airedale. I forget – border & labradoodle type mix dog. She said that they’re concentrating on her. I’ll email back but I think we can have these to moved on.
I can do HV.
Another HV idea is the lady who has a female….RuthAnn Grimes. She lives in Garner. I’d only send Ruth Ann if you feel this family is an easy pass of HV. I’ll be happy to HV if it needs a more serious, scrutinized HV. Would not be a good home for EM because not mult dog house

Good Morning,
Thank you pat for sharing the info about Kaycee. She sounds like a delightful, sweet girl. But my instinct tells me she is not the one for us. And as much as I want to help her, I have learned at my age to trust my instincts! She deserves a wonderful home and I hope she will find it very soon. You’ve got a lot on your plate, Pat, and you are a generous, loving person to care for her while she waits on that home.
We have found another dog with a local rescue here in Atlanta who we plan to meet Saturday. She’s not an Airedale 🙁 but she was a stray found on the side of a busy road who also needs a loving home. I have been overwhelmed with the number of dogs who through no fault of their own don’t have a loving home.
If thing change with our plans, I will let you know ASAP. Good luck with everything, especially Kaycee finding her new home.

They decided to move on to a shelter dog.

Hi Sandi – I wanted to check in with you about your interest in adopting an Airedale. We have some great ones. Ziggy is listed as available but we are just setting up his transport so he will be changed to adopted. Lots of good ones. Are you leaning towards male or female? Let us know and Barbara and I will start working towards finding Cooper a new Aire sibling.

Hi Sandi
I don’t know if you’ve seen our website lately but we have some great Airedales. One girl Kaycee is not posted. I need to get her on site today. Take a look and let me know. I was thinking Beo would be devoted boy for you all. Just FYI, I think Ziggy is placed. We have quite a few need homes.

Hi, Christina!
Yes, our address is different from when we adopted “Birch”. We now live at 15 Pine Ridge Trail. It is just a few houses up the street. It does have a fenced backyard with plenty of room for the dogs. We unfortunately do not have our precious Tika anymore. She got very sick and we had to have her put down. It was incredibly emotional and difficult. We still walk Cooper (Birch) daily….sometimes multiple times…on a leash. He is the most amazing dog we’ve ever had! We are very blessed!
Thank you for your email.
Sincerely~
Sandi Fisk

Hi Greg & Ann, let me know what you all think about the next step, home visit. I’m not sure who we set up to schedule a home visit – did ARG have someone who contacted you? Forgive me for sounding like a ditz! I’m not sure who it was so I just want to connect the dots back if you all are ready to go forward. I certainly understand your affection for the terrier breed and Ann’s loyalty to a lab. As you can imagine, we have all spectrums of personalities in rescue and in the end, we’d try to find the best match for your family. Just let me know and I’ll start things up again when you are ready.

Hi Dorothy-I spoke with him tonight and he seems like a great guy and family. He is remarried and I wanted to make sure the new “Mrs” was an airedale convert. Greg is clearly an Airedale person and the entire family appears to be. Our next step is the home visit which we’ll conduct soon. Thanks for the response and I know that since he is divorced, moved, different dog (he added a maltipoo) that he is starting over but its always nice to have one more frame of reference. His biggest challenge will be finding a ‘dale that can get along with his 5 lb maltipoo…..sigh!

What I can tell you is that I did the initial home visit for Greg and his wife when they were here in ABQ. They were approved 100 %.
Greg had a rough time business wise as the company he worked for as a pilot went bankrupt ( no fault of his)…at that point I lost contact with him ,,…but heard about the divorce. He was a great help with rescue and actually flew a plane to Amarillo to pick up a rescue dog for us. Greg was an Air force Pilot before retiring to private life.
I do think you have to evaluate him and his current circumstances. We liked Greg but he would have to have a stable home life now for adoption.
So as a person I give a thumbs up….but he would have to have the right home life for a rescue dog. Also if you do approve him….he might be able to help with transport…..
Greg was an asset to us in NM
A better email for me is duffsdales@gmail.com
Let me know what you decide.

Note to Lee on 8/27
Hi Lee
I wanted to give you a bit of background on Kaycee as written by her foster mom, Pat. This was written for a family who had expressed interest in her. I thought that I would share with you since you had expressed interest in a female and I had briefly mentioned Kaycee to you last week. Pat sent pictures last which I’ll forward to you – Again, we would love to place a ‘dale in your home….hoping to find a match for you all.
Followed by the long note that Pat wrote about Kaycee. I won’t post here to save space.

Subject: Airedale Rescue Group home visit
Hi Righton
I think that you are in Black Mountain for the summer. Are you back in Columbia? I have a family that needs to be home visited in Columbia. they’re prior airedale owners and i think they’re terrific but of course we like to have the home visit and meet the applicant in person. Any chance you’d be able to The addresses look to be 9 miles apart/16 minutes per mapquest. Let me know your location and availability – if you are still in NC – enjoy! You and Drew have been so helpful to ARG with the home visits – we love placing Airedales in your area 🙂

Gypsy – rescue from SWAT, she was young when adopted.
Gypsy is 90 lbs. A little chunky but probably had Oorang in them. Never had one that is close to ‘breed standard’. His first airedale was named Tory in the early 90s, stationed in Witchita, KS – she was 95 lbs.
Now – looking for a little bit smaller than Gypsy, probably does not want another 100lber because of course thinking about Bella as a toy. He saw Ziggy and thought that would be fine – about that age would be fine. He would consider a young puppy as well as a little older.
I told him that the biggest concern was finding a dog that would not be prey driven for Bella.
Cats that walk across his front yard – would not want to let gypsey out to get them. But she is fine with Bella. He would never present a cat with her. Obviously does fine with Bella. He understands that they’re bred to be prey driven.
SWAT said that they did not put female and female together -so that is how Greg ended up with a male. He thought it was mostly Airedale but there was something else in him. Great dog. First dealings with a male. He was a Gentle Giant – no prey instinct.
He would be open to male or female. Dorothy recommended m/f. SWAT would not place f/f – that was their rule.
Retired from Airforce. Worked for Airline manufacturer – he flew over to foster mom that had Baron. Took her home to see old foster moma nd met Gypsey. Flew home in first class jet.
He is home most of the time. Works part time. Leaves inside. Never leaves outside when not home.
He knows that they do not come perfect. They might chew, dig, stain carpet. Torn up shoes, etc.
His wife Alicia, is airedale converted.
Their house was broken into and Gypsey was traumatized. They put her on the bed and she jumped off and hurt her leg.
Told him that I’d set up a home visit. He was home visited by Dorothy in NM.

Subject: ARG – trying to connect
Hi Joe & Kathy
I tried calling tonight and i left a message
I know you all adopted a puppy plus have been traveling but I wanted to continue the process as Joe indicated would still be your desire. You all sound like a great home and if you’re willing to sign up for double trouble 🙂 in the Airedale way, I’d love to continue our discussion about Airedale Rescue adoption. My home number is 919-834-5283 which is the # which I called you from. My cell is 919-605-4563. I do not have voice mail for my home phone and usually during the day, if I am working from home, that line will ring and ring because I am on conference calls.
I’ll try again to connect with you all – or you can call me. Thanks.
