Hi Joanne, I thought of you all today and wanted to check in. Great update and yes it sounds like a who is in charge thing between you and Lucy. She wants to be in charge, be your protector, handle the situation. My trainer would say……Lucy has to know that Joanne is in charge and not Lucy, Lucy does not need to protect Joanne, Lucy needs to know she does not need to protect you because you are in charge. Sounds like you are on right path to recognize this early and engage with a trainer. I have a guy in Raleigh who has been in my life since I had my first dale named Rosie and I probably have a lesson with him once a year. Definitely more when i have had a situation that required repeated help. He has helped me through some foster dogs, my own dogs. In fact I am going to a new class with him in March called Urban Agility. I think you should engage in one to help you 1:1 with her issue then maybe there is a group setting where you can work with Lucy in a controlled setting and the trainer can correct you in situations. Of course, 1:1 is best at first and probably is a 1 or 2 session plan.
Please let me know how it goes.

hopefully this picture comes through-I’m a little stupid with that stuff. Lucy has been doing great. Loves doggy day care-gets along with all the dogs. One thing we have noticed is that when I take her on walks and we come across other dogs on leases, she barks and starts to go after the dog. Karl thinks she is protecting me. I am a little concerned about that and am looking into a trainer to hopefully give me help on how to stop her from doing that. She loves her walks on the beach but again when coming up to other dogs she wants to go at them. Any suggestions along with going to a good trainer? She responds great to commands but is definetly my dog. I keep up to date on the website to see how all the other dogs are doing in regards to getting adopted. Joanne

Hey Christina, do you have any type of time frame when Oliver will be moved? His heartworm is due and I just can not afford it. I have received more bad news today and my husband has not made the house payment on the first as promised. I am sure foreclosure process will start soon. I have way more on my plate than I can deal with. I have to think about moving.

Hi Ashley and Michael
Thank you both for spending your Sunday to get Stella from GA to NC.
Stella will have big adventure tomorrow but Ashely confirmed that Stella loves to ride in the car. A good ride tomorrow! Please remember that this is a unsure time for Stella too so please keep a firm hand on her leash at hand off and any stopping along the way. It’s often good to have the leash ready to be grabbed when you are opening car doors so Stella is secure to a person immediately when she gets out of Carl. Safety first!

Great! We miss her already 🙁 But I am sure she is loving playing with another friend! I am going to call again tomorrow to see if I can get the records. I told Michael I would let him know when I got them. But I do know they updated her on everything and that was in May. I will let you and Michael know when I get them.
Thanks so much for helping Stella find a great home!

Hi Ashley
Stella is in Raleigh. I hope the hand off went well. Did you ever receive updates records from Cobb county. I would hate for her to receive more vaccines than required if it can be helped.

Hi! No I am so sorry I have not gotten back with you. Things have been crazy this week. Her most current shot records would probably be at the Cobb County pound. Unfortunately she got out of our back yard last May and got picked up by a neighbor who took her to the pound. The pound updated her shots while she was there. I can take her to the vet but I am pretty sure she is up to date. I also am going to take her to get groomed next week so I will send you the contact info for the person who will be doing it. Once she is groomed, about how long do you think it will take for someone to adopt her?

Hi Nadia
My name is Christina and I will help you with Ruthie to find her a new family through ARG. She sounds wonderful and thanks for all of the details on her. It will help us find the right family. I am traveling and will be back tomorrow, just wanted you to know that we received your documentation.
By the way do you have any photos that you could share of Ruthie. I have a family in mind in Atlanta actually, a return adopter who is looking for child friendly.
Thanks again and I will be in touch soon.

1/14 Cyns assess on lulu
TALL girl. gonna run75 or so. Terribly matted — needs a shavedown on her back. Face and other areas are in dreadlocks. Not sure how much can be salvaged. Eyes bright and intelligent, attention span of a gnat, friendly but with that independent spirit. She gave me sort of a “talk to the hand” a couple of times. Nothing aggressive, just has her own agenda. 1 year old.
Zero leash manners, not food aggressive, may or may not be good with others. She started barking and going crazy when the greyhounds barked when we arrived. Not like play bark but more like alerting bark. Could be an issue. will know more tomorrow. It is hard to assess her when she is SO under exercised that she’s bouncing off walls.
Here is JoLynne the mom’s phone number 615-631-1118 please keep me posted, please I care about all dogs.
This is grandmother to lulu. She drive lulu to Cyns
