How are you? I was able to get an Airedale puppy—he is so lovely.

I would love to arrange a play date with him and other Airedales in the Atlanta area.

Do you know of any such group I can join?

                Good evening.

We wanted to update everyone. Raphael’s appointment at our veterinarian went very well. Our veterinarian has three locations throughout the Knoxville area. The groomer that rotates between all three clinics was there and she recognized him immediately. Apparently the previous owners used to board him a lot at their downtown location and she used to groom him. That said, they already had a file on him and we were able to find out a little more information on him. He was born September 17, 2018 and is 3 1/2 years old.

All of us have fallen in love with him and he is such a good and happy boy. We would like to officially make him a member and proceed with the adoption.

                  Safety:
Regular safety – please ensure that you are aware of Terrance and Bailey when opening car doors, transferring them from person to person, always making sure a hand is on the leash. Two is extra difficult! Unless necessary, remain in car with A/C until transport transfer occurs; when opening car doors, ensure that the leash is secured by hand on the leash; when allowing potty breaks – ensure that collar/leash(s) are tight for no escape; be aware of surroundings – even a plastic bag in the wind may spook a dog in unfamiliar settings. Do not let them off leash at any time 😊
Do not feel the need to walk them outside if you arrive early. Sitting in the car in the A/C will be fine for him. (IF you have a water bowl, please bring it so he can take a water sip between cars to keep him hydrated). NO TREATS except his own.
PLEASE USE YOUR CHILD LOCKS so that Terrance and Bailely cannot accidentally open a window or door! (It has happened!)

Please let me know when you area all home safely. I’ll be thinking of you all tomorrow. We could not do this without you – you are the boots on the ground making it happen for Terrance and Bailey

                    Hello Mark and Stacey,

Congratulation on your adoption of Terrance and Bailey!!

We are very happy they have landed in an experienced Airedale home for them to blossom into all the Airedales they can be.

Attached please find the adoption agreement. After reviewing the limited veterinary records, it appears Bailey may also be close to 5 years old. Her rabies was given in December 2019 and she was listed as 3 years old. I have estimated both their birthdays in 2016. The adoption fee is $300 each for a total of $600 based on their ages. Both dogs need to be microchipped which ARG will pay for and Bailey needs to be updated on vaccines unless other records were provided to you during transport.

Please return the signed agreement to me at your earliest convenience by email or mail. T

Thank you for opening your hearts and home to Terrance and Bailey.

Hi Pam – I wanted to check in with you about the home visit. Mary really enjoyed talking with you in December and of course, with holidays and hectic times – seems like everyone has been hit with COVID, I just wanted to check in with you. Lauren can come and meet you for the home visit. It won’t be a traditional home visit where we meet in your house but it is a chance for you to meet an ARG adopter, ask questions about ARG and their experience. Let me know if you’re still interested – we hope so!

                      Hello Lauren and Pam
First, I apologize for the delay to get the two of you together. Mary has interviewed Pam and asked me to find someone in the area for a home visit. Lauren is an arg adopter and also in the clemmons area and Lauren agreed to conduct the home visit and I forgot to introduce you two.

So, Pam, our next step is to meet an ARG volunteer, Lauren for the home visit. Due to COVID, it’s best to keep the home visit outside and that means that you all should meet outside, talk about airedales and see the yard and fence area. I know it’s going to be COLD and possible inclement weather again this weekend, so please work out when this can work for both of you between weather, work and schedules.

I really appreciate both of your time for this next step in the adoption process. Christina

You and Danny are approved to adopt from Airedale Rescue Group. We currently do not have an Available airedale at this time but that could change in the next email that we receive. Please keep in touch and we will be in touch too as an airedale becomes available and a match for you. Christina

Hi! I’m Jersey with Young-Williams Animal Center. I’m hoping to reach Christine with the Airedale Rescue Group about an Airedale that’s in our care!
I can get Raphael on the surgery schedule for Friday and he could be picked up that afternoon between 4-6pm. Does that sound okay with you? He’ll be microchipped, vaccinated and HW tested while he’s under for his neuter.
And just some info for you to have-
His owner was in a rehab facility and wasn’t going to be out any time soon. We tried to do an extended hold for him but we had to move forward when he surrendered.
Animal Control picked him up from a Motel 6 when his owner went in to his program. We’re guessing maybe he was residing there for the time being.

I spoke to Lee and Michelle on 2/2/22. The conversation was them together. They have two daughters, Isabella age 10 and their daughter Alissa who is 20 and she lives with Michele’s mother who lives up the road from them. At one point, as a family they had 3 dogs – border collie, beagle and Airedale. Isabella grew up with those 3 dogs and she is used to being around dogs. I did mention that we don’t know if Raphael had been around children.

They have a wooden fence. Their border collie only goes outside if they go with her -even in the rain. They have lots of parks nearby for walking – on leash. Plus dog parks – 4 minutes away. They routinely scoop up the feces in the yard. Lee said how he recognized blood in the feces for a border collie who had colon cancer when picking up feces from yard. They frequently are rubbing their dogs down and notice new lumps and bumps.
They do have an inground Pool which has Motion detector cameras and an alarm in the pool. Plus pups are not allowed out w/o them being there. If there is motion created in the water, beyond wind, sirens go off. Recently a squirrel fell into the pool, they saved her and nursed her back to health. Plus pups are not allowed out w/o them being there

Their Airedale was a male, named Casey who lived to about 12. One month before, he had gone in for a Senior Exam and blood work and no issues. Then, he suddenly had the spleen rupture/cancer.

Michele works at home and Lee works 10 minutes from home. He comes home for lunch to play with the dogs. If Michele had to travel for work, he could work at home. Their beagle was diabetic and they accommodated their schedules so the beagle was never alone.

Other pets – we don’t know how Raphael is with other pets do not expect issues. I explained that Raphael will have neuter surgery on Friday and to keep him quiet and let him get used to them. They plan to keep the border away from him while Raphael is recovering.

I checked on what type of flea tick, heartworm used and they use heartguard and bravecot.

In the past, they have used various Grooming – mobile groomer, used petsmart and their own. Casey had arthritis, he could not go to petsmart any longer so Michele also learned to groom.
