Just spoke w/Jennifer re: concern over chasing small dogs. Informed that ARG would assist w/training (up to $500) as well as with finding a trainer. She stated that it “broke her heart that he’s been in a kennel” all this time. Encouraged her to discuss/consider further. Needs to speak w/spouse who is currently traveling. Told her if I didn’t hear from her in 1 week, I’d call her. Told her about the assist w/training & finding trainer. Reiterated that Airedales are soooo smart…which she knows. She has forwarded the info. to her husband whom is traveling right now. She sounded open. Told her that ‘dales realize the difference btwn. a woodchuck, squirrel etc. vs a small dog. She said that they would still want to meet him. I told her I’d give her a week, & if I don’t hear from her, I’d call.

    Jennifer & Ken,
Things are moving quickly! I’ve attached a pic of “Oscar” that we’d like you to consider. He has been at the vet clinic for 3 weeks. He’ll be 3 in December. He LOVES everyone! He’s pretty much a blank slate as far as training goes…he’s had none. You know from your previous experience with an Airedale that they are very intelligent & take to training readily. Jackie says he is currently in Rome, GA. Please go to the ARG website & take a look. I’ll give you a call tomorrow to hear your thoughts. If you’ve any questions regarding Oscar, get in touch with Jackie @: airedalemail

    I’ll call you tomorrow.

    Kindest regards,

    Hi Kelly,

We completed our home visit. Their application is all correct. Both very pleasant and knowledgeable about the breed. Thy have had their fence reinforced. They have a nice home in an airplane community where most houses have hangars. Around here rather normal and a tight knit community. They do crate train and travel with crate. Jennifer is going to be at home much more as she stated in the application. They spoke of their experiences and were dead on with most characteristics of the breed and I directly asked, “are you sure you want another Airedale?” They responded, “yes”. They spoke fondly of their past Dale and rescue with a genuine compassion and experience that most Dale parents learn having lived with one.

I asked about the male and female thing and they seem to have their heart set on a female as they have experience. I asked them not to rule out a male if the right dog comes along. They did express a desire to meet a candidate on their own expense and time if possible and that might be the biggest hurdle.

I feel they would be a wonderful addition to ARG family and would love one, if it is the dog. Ken, like me, thinks that “you just know”.

Let me know should you need anything else or if I didn’t hit upon a topic. We had a good conversation and I may have left something of value out.

Thanks and please keep me abreast of how they are doing or if I can help in anyway.

    Gary
