Wow! I would never have known and would have put my money of her being pure. We sometimes get adults that we think could have something else mixed in, and some may be, but some are just badly bred. Regardless, we are so happy that you have this little girl and that she will have a wonderful life being loved and cared for.Happy Daylight Saving Time!

Chloe is 50% Airedale Terrier, 12.5% Siberian Husky, 12.5% American Staffordshire Terrier, and the remaining 25% is a mix from various breed groups including Hounds, Terriers. and the Sporting Group, which includes Spaniels, Setters, Retrievers, and Pointers. The 25% Sporting Group isn’t broken down by breed.
So, Chloe is the perfect rescue, although not an Airedale Terrier rescue dog. She’s a mix that’s half Airedale Terrier with a little bit of everything else thrown into the mix.
The bottom line is, irrespective of breed lineage, she is very loving and very loved.
Sincere regards,
David & Lori

I buried grover in 2009. forget when he came along – -maybe 5+ years before then. and the house has been continuously occupied by at least one dale since then – – to include fosters both great (prophet) and not so great (inka) plus several in between. It is creepy not having anyone around now. so . . . if you were thinking. . . . . not fussy about boy or girl, no puppies/adolescents (fosters excepted). prefer mid to older, as a ‘normal week here is I’m gone for 10 or more hours a day, 5 to 7 days a week. so between I don’t have much patience and I’m not here enough . . . a more settled dale might would be a better fit. my girlfriend’s idiot dogs can be pushy, so a larger/confident dale would be ideal.jk
03/04/19: thanks
one of the idiots is about 40 pounds. the other about 110. they are good dogs, but undisciplined and boorish. they were generally good around berk & z-dale. sometimes the dales would have to tell them ‘enough’, as they are both young and very energetic.
& to clarify, her dogs aren’t here. . . they live with her. there is a bit of moratorium on them visiting til I get electric fence in. they manage to get out of the existing fence, then go make the rounds in the neighborhood.

Hi, James. We do have 4 males currently – 6 years old, 4 years old, 3 years old, 2 years old. I’m not sure that any one of them would be right for your situation – particularly since you’re gone 10 hours a day. How big are the girlfriend’s idiot dogs? How are they with other dogs?
Let us think about it and go through what we know about them and present you with their particulars.

Hinkley Transport:

Date: March 8, 2019 at 4:30 PM
Subject: Transport of Hinkley, Saturday, March 9thGood morning, all. It’s set! Hinkley will go to his new forever home tomorrow.
Please put the number(s) of the person(s) you will be meeting in your phones so that you may communicate whether you’re early or late or about your specific parking location. Try to park away from the entrance of the place you are meeting – in the back or side – but close to green space so that Hinkley may go potty.Participants
Cathy Abramson’s 1-770-337-9914
Stew Tarkington 1-404-625-1842
Karen Terry 1-478-542-0343
Richard & Lorie Smith 1-843-338-1787Here is the transport plan:
8:00 a.m. Stew Tarkington driving a burgundy Ford Explorer
will pick up Hinkley at Cathy Abramson’s house:
5680 Cardigan Trace, Sugar Hill, GA9:30 a.m. Karen Terry driving a white Toyota Avalon
will meet Stew at Walmart Supercenter (Exit 188 from I-75)
180 N Lee St, Forsyth, GA 3102911:00 a.m. Richard & Lorie Smith driving a grey Santa Fe Sport
will meet Karen at Huddle House (Exit 67 from I-16 E)
10596 GA-29, Soperton, GA 30457Richard & Lorie take Hinkley to his new home. All’s right with the world!
Hinkley will be wearing a rolled leather collar with tag and a slip lead. Please make sure the collar fits tightly enough that it will not go over his head so he can’t pull away if he gets scared. If you have an extra leash, please bring it so that you can close the door on the end of his leash with just a few inches sticking out. That way you can have your hand on his leash before you even open the door. We don’t want him to bolt! He will also have an envelope with his medical records, and a toy. Please bring a bowl so that you can give him water at the stop. A few small treats is a good idea, but we don’t want him traveling on a full stomach, just in case…
Please text me at 1-901-438-5782 when you have transferred Hinkley to the next person. Or call if you encounter any problems.Thank you all for your love for Airedales and for your time and efforts to get Hinkley to his new owners. And, please let me know if you have any questions about the above.
Jackie
03/08/19: Asked Leah if she could drive Hinkley from Sugar Hill to Forsyth. She will let me know late afternoon today.

March 7, 2019 at 7:22 am in reply to: Private: Private: Richard & Hae-Suk Rodriguez, N. Charleston, SC 29420 #2243003/07/19: Ok, here goes. I spoke to Richard for a good while on 03/05/19. He is knowledgeable about dogs, having had poodles, GSDs, St. Bernards, and his last dog, a Dalmatian mix. He has not had a dog in the 5 years he has lived in SC. He previously lived in Syracuse, NY and that was where his last veterinarian was. He has fostered dogs for a rescue group in Murrells Inlet, SC, but doesn’t remember the name of the group, which has folded. He will get me the name of the person he worked with in that group. He said he fostered several from 1 to 3 weeks and taught them to walk on leash and other basic things. He’s not a trainer, but he’s had enough experience with dogs that he knows how to teach them.
He has an adult daughter and adult son. His daughter has a mixed breed that came from the same rescue that he fostered for. Female, spayed, medium-sized dog. They come over all the time. Son just got a great Dane. Girlfriend has a little mutt. They also visit a lot. His wife, Hae-Suk, is onboard. Looking for a good dog to walk with.
They are Building a house in Myrtle Beach. He just sold a house in MB and he spends a lot of time up there – beach bum. He thinks it will be ready 4-6 weeks for new house. This house is their primary residence. No small children that come to the home. There will be when great-grands come to see him. Brandon and Isabella 2 and 6. They have dogs.
It was confusing to me whether the house in MB will be their primary residence or whether it will remain in No. Charleston. His wife works in No. Charleston so I think it will be there, but I’ve asked him to clarify that.
I’ve also asked him to provide the name of his contact at the rescue organization/shelter he worked with and to provide the name of his last vet in Syracuse where his Dalmatian-mix was seen. I asked if any of his previous dogs were seen there also.
I will not schedule a home visit until I get a response from him as to those things. Also, I’m not sure if we’ll do the HV in Charleston or in MB.
03/06/19: Richard & Lorie Smith are adopting Hinkley! They want to get him Saturday, the 9th, and Cathy Abramson has said she will meet them. It’s 5 hrs + few min, so I will see if I can find someone I the middle.
March 6, 2019 at 3:53 pm in reply to: Private: Private: Richard & Hae-Suk Rodriguez, N. Charleston, SC 29420 #2242703/06/19: I wrote a really long post about my conversation with Richard yesterday and the intranet timed out and I lost all of it.
I’ll update later. Ugh.
March 6, 2019 at 3:05 pm in reply to: Private: Banjo, 7-y-o M/N, Adopted by Miaka Palmieri 11-2020 #2242603/06/19: Banjo’s growth was a cystic hematoma, probably from an old injury. It is NOT cancer!
JMC has notified Sherry & Greg Beebe and hope that they will decide to take him.
March 5, 2019 at 4:26 pm in reply to: Private: Robert “Morry” Payne, Pelham, AL ADT exp., health issues, easy ‘dale #2242203/01/19: I called Robert and left message that we needed to continue our interview. I don’t think he’s in a hurry because of his Bella.
March 5, 2019 at 4:04 pm in reply to: Private: Griffin, fka Hinkley, fka Scruffy, 2-y-o Male, Adopted by Richard & Lorie Smith #2242003/05/19: I have not updated Hinkley’s post as I should have. Cathy has sent me updates all along and the most recent said he was getting along with her dogs !!! and he is ready to go to a new home.
Pat Hairston and JMC have spoken to Richard Smith about Hinkley and JMC connected Richard and Cathy Abramson via text so that they can speak about Hinkley.
March 1, 2019 at 8:52 pm in reply to: Private: Banjo, 7-y-o M/N, Adopted by Miaka Palmieri 11-2020 #2229403/01/19: Spoke to Twin animal clinic again and again asked for line item invoice for Banjo’s workup and neuter and for his histopathology report, which should be in by early next week. They’ll send them in the mail altogether.
03/01/19: Spoke briefly to Tracey – she was driving and connection was bad – Her boy is still having issues with the hardwood floor but has gotten out of his separation anxiety. I don’t know that Hinkley would be a good fit there.
Talk to her again in a couple of weeks after we know how Hinkley will do with larger dogs on leash.
03/01/19: Hinkley is fine playing with a wire-haired dachshund and a female mini-Aussie and a mixed rat terrier – all smaller than him. She hasn’t had him with larger dogs. He allows them to steal his bones – he has no resource guarding behaviors.
He’s not as hypervigilant, his ears are down and back in a more submissive posture. When he sees dogs on leash he wants to play, play, play. He got in a brief dust-up with a Golden a week ago. Hinkley was not even looking at the Golden; Cathy & H were at the gate leaving and the Golden was the instigator. They made their escape and there was noise but no harm.
