Good Morning Jackie,I know it’s been a while since we spoke, but we are looking to rehome Molly hopefully today. We have had some circumstances change and we will have to do something ASAP. I am willing to drive to ensure she has a great home to go to.
Some updates on her:
-she has been spayed
-up to date on flea, tick, heart worm
-microchippedPlease let me know if there is any way we can find her a home today. Thank you.

She will probably need to take Molly to her vet’s for boarding and we can help pay for that. Asked her to call me back.

May 5, 2019 at 10:26 am in reply to: Private: Banjo, 7-y-o M/N, Adopted by Miaka Palmieri 11-2020 #2272405/02/19: The vet doing Banjo’s dental work/extractions called me while Banjo was on the table. Under sedation they could do better x-rays and found that the remaining teeth that were not set to be extracted are in bad shape. They all have some degree of resorption, which makes extraction necessary but terribly difficult. The vet, Dr. Robustelli (I think) spoke to a veterinary dentist before he spoke to me and she cautioned him about trying to extract all those on the same day bc Banjo would need to be under anesthesia 8 hours. They vet dentist has better equipment to extract those difficult teeth that will not require that much time under anesthesia. The vet dentist has quoted $1500-2000 for the remaining teeth.
Dr. Robustelli has sent all Banjo’s records to ARG so that Barbara Yager can forward them to Dr. Gale for her opinion.
I spoke to Sue Mioduser this morning about Banjo. Does not need to be crated. He’s very needy. Always climbing in your lap, bringing a ball, wanting to play. Sue just sometimes wants him to leave her alone. Banjo is a jumper and jumped over a baby gate to get into the basement; just leaped over it. Not in yard off leash. He would run in a moment.
Playing with toys and jumping around but won’t drink. She’s forcing water with a turkey baster.
She doesn’t leave him alone a lot. He’ll be alone for 2-3 hours but that’s it. He could adjust.

Hi Jackie,
I took GW to vet last week as he was due for his DHPP vaccine. Also had a growth on the bridge of his nose checked. I noted it when he first arrived for fostering and looked like a wart/skin tag type growth. It is not visible but can be felt . Vet thinks it is probably benign but no guarantee without removal and biopsy. They did a general check and he is very healthy.
He was very well behaved and received lots of compliments for being such sweet boy.
He has become such a good calm dog at home in his daily routine. Weather has been nice so lots of exercise and being outdoors which is ideal for him. He loves water including any mud hole (not so great 😀 ). He has been really good off leash with Finn and Grace. He has perfect recall. Lots of great stuff from this guy for someone patient and active.
Below is a copy of updated vet record. I just noticed they have misspelled his name so will get that corrected.April 29, 2019 at 4:04 pm in reply to: Private: Banjo, 7-y-o M/N, Adopted by Miaka Palmieri 11-2020 #2269504/29/19: Notes from discussion with Sue on 04/27/19:
he’s so busy
the house is a mess
yesterday morning Banjo’s not in bed
Sprawled out on the sofa
He will put a toy on sofa to see if they say anything, sneaky, strong, active
Vet said the skin looks great – but still itching. Keep him on apoquelLow end 608 – 860, canines forward and includes pain meds and anti-inflammatory meds.
Walking ok on leash and doing well with walking with her other dog.
Counter surfer
jumps on people and on the counter
Jumped on vet tech and then growled at her – mean growl to some people and ok with others. Vet tech backed away.
So happy.
When he sees other dogs – he wants to go see them
Just wants to play, throws tennis balls and chases them and entertains himself
House-broken
Alone 8-9 hours while she was gone. No accidents.
Great in the house.
Strong and playful.
Not a picky eater, likes apples and other fruit
Good boy.- This reply was modified 5 years, 8 months ago by Jackie Cash.

Hello, Airedale Lovers: First, thank you to everyone for volunteering your time and gas to get Millie to her new home in Cookeville, TN with Russ & Peggy Coughenour to be loved and spoiled for the rest of her life. Do not bring any other dogs with you, please. But do bring a treat or two for Millie and some water.
Millie is a big girl, 80 lbs, and will be traveling with a harness & leash, crate (collapsible), bed & blanket, bowl, toys, and a bag of food. She is good in the car, but keep in mind that she may be confused and anxious. We always advise that you close the car door on the end of the leash so that before you even open the door to let her out, you have a hand on that leash.Everyone, please check your phone numbers below and make sure I haven’t made an error. Check in with the person you’re meeting as you get close to your meeting spot, particularly if you are running late. Park away from the most crowded area so that you’ll be easily found.

Puppies galore! First the breeder, now another one. I wish I didn’t have an office job. I’d jump right in line for a puppy. BUT, I do have to go to work, so no puppy.Chief is wonderful. He quickly graduated to freedom of the house, and use of the dog door. I still come home from work at lunch a couple times a week, but I don’t have to! He is great. He had low expectations, so is really a happy, easygoing guy.
I have not contacted the trainer yet, have been waiting for Chief to settle and show his true colors. Also, was conflicted since the target of his hand nipping is in Greensboro. But even that was ok last time I was home.

Hello Josh and Jackie – below are some examples to describe Kate’s behavior –The trainer that we worked with basically said that she has confidence problems, and doesn’t know that she is a dog. She is super sweet and lovable to humans. Not so much to other dogs. We use positive reinforcement, treats and telling her that she is a good dog and various exercises to build her confidence that Nikki gave us. Use commands of this way to follow and directional changes, open and close door to get her to wait. Leash – no success at all. She has a martindale collar, but still will pull and choke herself. Have tried a harness as well.
Aggressive towards other dog – examples:
a. My son has a 6 year old German Shepard female, named Sasha, who he uses to help his friends train dogs. She if very gentle and aggression adverse. Kate has bitten her twice. Once, the first time they met unprovoked. And the second time unprovoked. She no longer wants to come in the house.
b. Dogpark – my son and I took Sasha and Kate to the dog park – Kate started growing at Tula and my son picked her up (front legs holding her calmly and telling her to be nice) She calmed down. He put her down, and she growled again at Tula, so he repeated. She calmed down. Took her in the dog park, on leash. He had to do that one more time. Then she was okay, completely disinterested in the other dogs that were playing in a pack. She ran the parameter of the fence smelling and hunting. She did not bother any of the other dogs though.
b. My daughter had a black lab named Tula – who came to live with us with no time to introduce the two. Tula was 1 year old. We kept them separated, Tula upstairs and Kate downstairs (Kate will not go up the stairs) as we tried to work with them and get them acquainted. Kate bit Tula unprovoked the first time. They got to a point where they would rough house, but we would not leave them alone. We were working with a trainer, who after working with Kate asked us to bring Tula down. Kate immediately attacked her unprovoked. The next time I believe they were rough housing and Tula nipped at the back of Kate’s legs, and Kate attacked her. My daughter threw (out of reaction) the ottoman at Kate to get her off of Tula. She had her by the neck. My daughter ended up relinquishing Tula to a lab rescue group. She and my granddaughter came to live with us for about a year. She realized she could not afford a home with a fenced back yard, and Tula needed that.
c. Kate is a runner. We have worked with her opening and closing the door, but still she is a runner. If we don’t chase her she returns in 5-10 mins. Like, oh hey, that was fun. She did run while bringing groceries in. A neighbor and her daughter were walking four dogs. Kate circled and tried to bite them. Two of the dogs had muzzles, thank goodness, my daughter caught her and carried her back in the house before she bit them.
She gets into a “crazy mode” or better described as hyper focused and nothing is going to distract her attention, when engaged with other dogs, or hunting. We have millions of squirrels in the back yard, a big back yard and she loves to run and chase them. She focused on a rabbit that was under out deck, clawed the wood, tried to bite/chew it for about 30 minutes. Could not get her redirected. Finally got her in the house and she was so wired that I decided to keep her in the kennel that day. Usually she is free in the house. She has a dog bed, kennel and loves to lounge on the couch. Last year while on vacation, a toy got stuck under our leather couch. She clawed the back to open to the wood frame, then chewed through the wood to get to the toy. Again, super focused.
She is terrified of storms, lighting and thunder. We have a thunder shirt, and tried CBD oil. That just ampted her up. The vet prescribed Trazadone. It helps if we give it to her before the storms start. IF not, she is just amped up, shakes, pants like crazy.
The trainer Nikki of Dog Speak, works with a trainer at Greymont Kennels. Who offered to work with her as well. I took her for an evaluation to see if she could attend doggy daycare so that we can enlist extra training and get her acclimated to being around other dogs with out the aggressiveness. The trainer called me with in 30 minutes and said, she is not the worst dog that they have had, however she failed the assessment. The presented a very old, small gentle dog to Kate. Kate showed bullying behavior, so they separated them. Tried again, and Kate attached the dog. The trainer said it took him about 5 minutes to get her off of the dog.
She loves humans and kids, my granddaughter lays on her dog bed with her in the mornings before school. When Kate has enough of anything, to many people or too much of a kid, and needs her space she will go get in her kennel. Or if a new situation or people, will run to me for assurance.
She loves to go for car rides. Her foster mom used to take her to the care center to visit her mom and other residents daily. She loves her squeaky toys and roughhousing play where she mouths my arms everyday. and we toss her toys. She is not in this for a long time. When she is done, she is done. I think that she needs a very consistent routine, with out a lot of change. That seems to through her off.
I hope that this helps give you a little bit of background to help get her the training and right family that she
