07/24/19 Kerith is fostering Izzy from Mobile.
07/24/19: through a long conversation with Jerry Sutton, I learned more about his domestic situation than I learned about Cooper. He says Cooper is a very smart dog who loves people, loves to run in his big backyard and chase squirrels and the occasional cat that regrets coming into his yard, and loves to play fetch, and loves to swim. They go to a lake and he jumps off the dock into the water for his ball, fetches it and brings it back to start all over. He’s great with their two small dogs. In fact, the yorkie mix thinks he’s as big as Cooper and they once found Cooper with the yorkie hanging from Cooper’s neck, having bitten him and holding on. Cooper is tolerant.
07/24/19: Oh, no, Carin. Is it Josie? I am so sorry. I hope that she can be treated and be comfortable while you care for her. I agree that it is not a good idea to bring another dog in at this time. Let her live in the environment she loves without distraction. You are at the top of our list for most any Airedale we get in. Just let us know when you’re ready.
I’ll be thinking about you.

We’ve had a lot going on family wise & our older dog was diagnosed with kidney failure which we weren’t expected so that’s taken up a lot of my time recently. After much discussion we feel that it would be unfair to adopt at this time given the amount of care we will have to give her & the expense involved. Please, please, please keep our information on file as I know in the future (which could sooner than we expect) we do still want a dale. This whole thing just breaks my heart! Thank you for being so great & again I’m sorry I been so disrespectful about getting back to you…it’s just been a rough week & a half but things are smoothing out little by little!

Hi, Carin. I left you a message last Thursday about a female ‘dale but I think we’ve got her placed. Today I left you a message about a male we just found out about this morning. He’s been living with 2 smaller dogs, has been around a 7-y-o child (granddaughter) for the last few years, has had some obedience training, and is generally a great dog. You are our first choice for him. He’s a cutie.Call me.
07/23/19 Per Kerith: Izzy is a sweetheart
She’s a Velcro dog
Starving for attention
Crate was for puppy
Brought it in the house and she did not go in it
Slept on the floor by Kerith’s bed
Walk in appointment today 2:00-3:30
She rides beautifully in the car
Eyes goopy

Subject: Re: OdieOh, no, Christine. I’m so sorry to hear that your husband has a cancerous tumor. It’s good that it can be removed and that the radiation is expected to cure it. I know that the news is scary and shocking and that it creates fears that you’ve never had before. Both my husband and I have had cancer and that knot in the pit of your stomach is sickening. Mine was lung cancer 13 years ago; had part of my lung removed, no chemo, no radiation, and no recurrence. My husband had prostate cancer 15 years ago and had 44 radiation treatments. He did experience fatigue but that was the only symptom. More recently, in 2015 he had stomach cancer and they treated it with chemo. He’s still clear.
I know you must have access to excellent doctors. Listen, but research, question, confirm. I probably don’t need to tell you that, but… We’ll find Odie a good home. He’s still with Katherine and we really thought that she was going to keep him. She’s not, but we’ll find him a good home.
You take care of Chad, the girls, your sweet foxy, and YOURSELF. We’ll be here when you’re ready. Please let me know how you’re doing.

wrote: Hi Jackie,
I wanted to contact you since I said I would update you on our home situation towards the end of the month.
My husband’s surgery went well, but we were shocked to find out that he had a cancerous tumor around his eye. He will have to go through radiation therapy for about a month in an effort to beat this thing. Not the news anyone ever expects. The prognosis is good however, since this type of cancer he is regarded as highly treatable, but the radiation will knock him out during treatment.
I hope you have found a good home for Odie. We have been thinking about him and all of your available airedales and are hoping that we will be able to give a lucky terrier(s) a new home in a couple of months.
I will email you as soon as things clear up on our end. Until then, I wish you and all of your sweet adoptees and fosters well.
Sincerely,
Christine Sorrell

To be honest I am not 100% sure about it. He talked alot about meds. I have never heard of all that. Sara would NOT interact with him. He kept trying to motivate with food and she is not food motivated at all. She has not at all since coming to us. I understand trying to build trust with her first but if she is not motivated by his means how will that work. She really didnt even pick the food off ground until Lloyd picked it up and gave to herWe did get her a crate and all last night per his request. We put her in while we had grands that are 3 at home she didnt seem to care that she was in it. I put bed, food, rot, rawhide and other chew thing per smart suggested as reward. She did fine in crate.
But after they left I let her out. She didnt go back as he thought on own, even with door open.. maybe I time she will.
Just not sure of philosophy, it is foreign to us. But willing to try if it will help Sara, she is what is important
She is doing much better with regular people in home. Just not new people entering that is still a struggle with the massive barking. It seems to be fear to me.

Sent from my iPad07/09/19: We have been working with Sara on her behavior. When she charged my daughter I fussed at her and told her No she stopped. She doesnt seem to like anyone coming downstairs. She gets to barking like crazy but will stop at command.
I have never had this issue with any of my other dogs. Do you have any suggestions or thoughts on who would be best for me to contact? I do t think it is an obdenice issue. I feel it is more territorial issue. My daughter that charged has only been in home since SATURDAY Night.
Any advice will be appreciated.

07/09/19 Sara
She is doing better with Lloyd.. She is finally allowing him to pet her.
Although the last few days have been trying.. My daughter moved home with the NEW baby born 7.26 and lets just say to Sara my daughter is NOT the mommy. SHE ISShe charges at my daughter every time she tries to walk with the baby.. We are working with her to make her understand that Miranda is the mommy not her.
She mouthed the babies “head” the other afternoon and than washed her from head to toe.She did much better around friends on the July 4th.
She is starting to understand that she is not going to be moved around again I think. She is eating better as well. She is starting to make herself comfortable.
I will get some pictures soon sorry I am bad about that

07/22/19: Spoke to WRAC –
both had surgeries this morning and did well; also got microchipped. Both seem dog aggressive, Maya less so than Oscar, but they think it may just be cage aggression. They will try to better evaluate this week,Both had fleas and ticks, both were heart worm negative but should be retested in 6 months. Both got all vaccs and blood work – chemistries, kidney and liver function, electrolytes. No evidence of disease.
They will be bathed this week.
Leave Saturday.

Ask about their schedules these days. How much alone time for Izzy?
Are they in the same home?
How much exercise would Izzy get daily?
How is Beckett with other dogs?
