10-28-2020 Spoke with Drew. Nina has a flat Collar and retractable leash, bed, blanket. Flat collar and leash. She’s good in and out of the car. I asked if she ever bolted. No, the only time she’s ever frozen or couldn’t move was they were walking in the woods and thunder & lightning frightened her. She would not move. They had to pick her up and carry her to the car. Loud noises, fireworks, thunder, she doesn’t like. She has gotten out of their fence before and will go nose to the ground but will always come back when they call her.
I asked about the fractured teeth. They noticed that she was picking up her food, then dropping it on the floor and gingerly picking up smaller bites. Never any bleeding. The vet gave her antibiotics and they have had no issues since. No pain or bleeding re the teeth. Never a problem since.
Friday would work for them, he will check with his wife and get a time for this and text me back. They could meet in Pittsboro.

Reason for giving up Airedale My family is at a very different place in life now compared to where we were 8 years ago. We are finding less and less time to spend with her outdoors and with two babies, I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Nina deserves to be in a home where she can be more active and given more attention.
Dog currently lives with: a) number of adults:2b) if children, age of children: 3yrs and 3mo Other children 2, 3, and around 6-10 yo and does best with ages that can hold their grounds a little more. 68 lbs. Kids pet her. His 3yo was in the kitchen and wife opened the drawer and Nina moved/jumped back and decked the child.
c) if pets or other animals, types and ages: no additional pets
d) other important living conditions:
Airedale is (check all that apply to your Airedale) Inside dog, Fenced yard, Housebroken, Sweet dog, Good with kids, Timid, Loves dogs, Good on leash, Digs, Good in car, Good eater Grooming – does well except for feet/nails.
Any other medical treatment We have her on sensitive stomach food but other than that she’s been fine. Right out of th gate they gave her what Gerardo was feeding. At some point, she was having upset stomach. They did a vet visit and she’s been on this for sensitive stomachs. Very food motivated.
On leash and meeting other dogs, she’ll go up to them to sniff and inspect. She doesn’t get excited, just checking them out. Cautious, but moving forward, and then playful.
Dog’s best qualities are: Sweet, sweet, sweet! She loves being rubbed. She is always comfortable around her people and wants to be part of whatever the family is doing.
Dog’s worst qualities are: Timid around new people, new things, and new places. Doesn’t get aggressive, however will bark to intimidate.
Has Airedale received any obedience training? If yes, please describe. Nina received a couple weeks of obedience training that quickly became expensive if we were to continue. Training focused on place and sit. She will sit and lay down but never really got the place command.
If you used a trainer, please supply name, address and telephone number Sorry, I don’t have any of that information anymore. When the doorbell rings, she barks her head off and she’d run at the door and barking.
No medical issues or injuries.
Has dog ever bitten anyone? If yes, please describe when and the circumstances Never.

Date:10/25/2020October 26, 2020 at 5:01 pm in reply to: Zeus, 2-yo M/N Adopted by Anthony McGhee, Charlottesville, VA (rehomed) #2603510-26-2020 He is very loyal to her other Airedale. Zeus still has a lot of puppy in him. When she has them boarded, she puts them in different pens so Hans doesn’t get overpowered by Zeus and his roughhousing. She has used a shock collar on Zeus once or twice – he would go down the driveway toward the road and not pay attention. She used it and he never went back down the driveway. He learned very quickly.
In talking to Candace about Zeus with Julie Lawson, if the other dogs roam, Zeus would probably roam with them. When she calls Hans and Zeus, Zeus is the first to come. He’s more loyal than Hans and Candace thinks he would be more likely to stick around.
10-28-2020: zeus was neutered, absorbable stitches.

By submitting this form, I certify that the information I have provided is true and accurate. I am physically, emotionally, and financially able to care for an Airedale. I understand that Airedales require both physical and mental stimulation to thrive and I will provide both. I understand that Airedales that come into rescue may not have been trained or socialized properly and may need extra time, patience, and care to adjust to a new environment. This may include the need to attend pet obedience classes to help build a better bond with the new dog in the home. I understand that proper food and veterinarian care can be costly, and I am able to meet these needs. I agree that Airedale Rescue Group may check my veterinarian, groomer and personal references, as well as, my landlord, if applicable. Home visits will be conducted prior to and following an adoption to ensure the safe-keeping of the Airedale. ARG reserves the right to decline adoptions. ARG reserves the right to reclaim any dog who, in our judgment, appears neglected, abused, unkempt, or unsafe. ARG reserves the right to reclaim any dog for non-payment of the adoption fee at any time. I hereby agree, and consent

I told her Asher had been adopted (forgetting that her owner decided to keep him). There is a potential problem with the breeder; he was expecting two litters around now but the other female didn’t get pregnant, and he’s hedging on letting the Crawford adopt.
I moved them back into “waiting.”

They did everything they possibly could for Griff when he started exhibiting aggressive behavior. Right down to the wire, Cyndi was trying to think of anything or try any advice to save him. They take excellent care of their animals.
