Subject: Re: Friend for Petey?Good morning, Desiree. Yes, Sue told me to expect to hear from you. After reading your message, my first thought was ‘They’ve got 3 dogs and they want ANOTHER! They must be crazy!’ 😊 Then, it was ‘Of course, they want another Airedale.’
Are you still living in the same home as when you got Petey? Does your mother still live with you? Are you still working part-time, Desiree? You had only the senior Poodle when you got Petey, but have since added Penelope and Josie. How did you come to get them? Are they both inside dogs like Petey? How big are they? I guess they all get along well? We would, of course, want to place an Airedale with you that was good around all dogs and one who could easily acclimate to an established pack.
Previously there were no children that routinely visited your home. Has that changed? Are there a lot of children in your neighborhood?
Let me know about all of the above and we’ll keep you on our “approved/waiting for an Airedale” list. As a former adopter, you are considered “golden.”
We don’t have any Airedales currently, but we never know when that will change. We just got a male and a female on Friday and they both are placed.
I look forward to helping you find the next Airedale!
Have a healthy and happy Christmas and New Year!

We adopted Petey almost two years ago from your organization. He is a WONDERFUL boy! He is on the smaller size, about 55 lbs. Our life is so much more fun because of him!
We have an English bulldog, Penelope and a Cocker Spaniel, Josie. They all get along very well. All three are 5 years old. However, neither of the other two breeds has the size, energy and stamina like Petey does. We wonder if we could find another sweet Airdale like Petey, they could have a great time.
I reached out to Sue to ask her opinion. She told me to contact you. We are in no rush. We would like to find a good friend for Petey and a good addition to our canine family.
Let me know what you think.
Take care and Happy Holidays,
Desiree and Jake Stout

Hello, all. Amber (470-304-5714, Rob (678-770-0611), and Treacy (828-989-8436), the trip is set. Amber, driving a black dodge caravan will meet Rob, driving a white Nissan Frontier pickup at McDonalds, 645 S Cobb Pkwy SE, Marietta, at 9:00 am to pick up Bonnie.Rob will drive her to McDonalds, 13786 Jones St., Lavonia, GA, and meet Treacy, driving a black Audi Q5, at 10:30 or so.
Bonnie is a sweet Aire-girl who likes to ride in the car and is friendly if a bit timid. Please everyone bring an extra leash for her and make sure her collar fits well and she can’t back out of it. Be careful transferring her as she may be confused by this trip. She could easily be spooked by a loud noise or a plastic bag blowing across the parking lot. We recommend that you close the door on the end of her leash so about 4-6 inches is hanging out. Then when you are ready to get her out of the car, you can already have your hand on the leash.
Please call/text the next driver if you are running late or have any changes.
PLEASE PUT THE CHILD LOCKS ON SO SHE CANNOT ACCIDENTALLY OPEN A WINDOW OR DOOR. It has happened!
I’m attaching the Google maps link for this trip. https://tinyurl.com/Bonnie-Transport-12-21-20

The Blanks want to adopt Togo being relinquished by Amber Winslett in Cedartown, GA. Plan is to meet on Tuesday, the 22nd in Acworth GA to meet Togo and introduce him to Cosmo.
Cosmo does great with other dogs! I’ve been taking him to a few local dog parks since we first got him, plus he has a neighbor friend who visits a few times a week. And like you said, a few friends of ours bring their dogs to play when we can fit them in. Nothing has changed other than our boys are now able-bodied to assist with cosmo chores. Which has been great. Cosmo gets walked daily at least 20-30 mins. And he loves playing in the backyard he’ll chase squirrels until he wears himself out every other day it seems. So that plus the occasional dog play he goes to bed worn out most nights. And he lets us know if he didn’t get enough exercise the next morning 🙂 Our family is definitely ready for another Cosmo and we are grateful to be back on your radar. Be in touch!

Cc: Pat Nowak Hairston; Barbara Reese Yager Subject: Airedale Rescue Hi, Jean. Have you changed your mind about adopting an Airedale? You haven’t responded to my emails, texts, or my phone call on the 2nd.
If you’re not ready to proceed, no problem; we’ll just keep your application on file, but do let me know.
Thanks, Jean.
Jackie
Hello Jackie,
I hope all is well with you. My name is Adam Blank and my family adopted Cosmo (our name) from y’all about 4.5 years ago. He’s been doing great and as my wife says often, we couldn’t imagine life without him. So here we are which I assumed we’d reach at some point: cosmo needs a friend. Ideally, his new brother/sister is a good match energy wise. Cosmo although nearly five years old, is still a wild puppy at heart. I know you don’t have any available dogs on the site but please keep us in mind if a good match comes into your orbit. We live in Atlanta but happy to drive if needed. Thanks for considering our family once again, Jackie. I’ll keep an eye out for your response. In the meantime, stay well!
Adam
PS – here’s a recent cosmo pic 🙂
JMC responded:
Hi, Adam. Of course, I remember you and little Cosmo. What a great photo! I love the bows. I can still see the photo of you putting him in the back of your car. What a sweetheart he was — and obviously still is.
You’re right that we don’t have any Airedales available right now, but we never know when that will change. We will be happy to re-activate your application so that you’ll be on the list waiting for the right Airedale. Has anything changed appreciably in your home or lifestyle since you got Cosmo?
How does Cosmo do with other dogs? Does he get a chance to play with dogs? In what situations? Do any dogs come into your home – say, belonging to visiting friends or relatives? How much exercise does he get daily?
Let me know about the above and I’ll move you back into our Approved & Waiting section and will let you know if we get an Airedale that might be a good match.
I hope you’ve all stayed healthy and safe and are looking forward to a great holiday.
12/14/2020: The Blanks are ready for another Airedale for Cosmo. Male or female to match his energy – he’s 5 and still a wild child.
But them back in Waiting for a Spare ‘Dale.

She has lots of doggie friends…we’re there every day…she’s really fond of a German Sheppard named Obi…also a rescuer. In fact most of the dogs at the park are rescue. She has some interesting quirks: barking at the kitchen aid mixer and the blender, all while wagging her tail. She’s getting really good at coming when called…especially outside..she comes running. The end of January she will have hip surgery on her right hip. The Vet said it will take about 6 weeks for recovery and then 6 months later the left hip will be done. Its a procedure they call a Femoral Head Osteotomy (FHO), not as major as hip displacia(sp.?) The B&B limps along, but given what’s happening all’s well.
Please share the picture of Lucy with Shawn….I don’t have their e-mail.
