I had my knee surgery April 30 and getting around pretty well now, although not driving yet. Keep me on your list and by this fall I should be able to think about a dog again.

Needless to say I was nervous to begin with but I was really nervous when they told me that. But, and maybe Maggie could sense I was nervous and she just calmed right down. I made her sit in between each door and we sat in the far back of the lobby. I put her in the down stay position and she just sat there the whole time. When they called us in we walked by a German Shepard, a small dotson, and a Husky and she didnt even pay them no mind. I was very proud of her, she is just progressing so fast shes surprising me. Maggie weighed 70 pounds and we got her heartworm meds and ear cleaner. Hope you all have a great long weekend and a happy Memorial Day you all deserve it. Cindy we’ll talk tomorrow at 4.

05/24/18: Maggie is adjusting well and is happy and playing!
05/23/18: JMC met River and owners and Tracey & Rob Haynes at Audubon Park on 05/22/18. Tracey & Rob brought Cooper, their Aire-Doodle, about 90 lbs. River is a petite Aire-girl. If I didn’t know that she came from Lawrence Alexander, a well-known and -respected Airedale breeder, I would think she’s a large Welsh. She’s about 40 lbs.
She and Cooper got along fine, with both wanting to play. They walked well together. Cooper tried to mount her a couple of times. River went home with Rob & Tracey for them to make a decision. I believe they were very hesitant because of her age – 6 – when they wanted one much younger, but they have the option of not keeping her.
I don’t think we’ll have any problem placing her if they decide against her.

05/16/18 From Molly:
Pushed a Judah button this afternoon.He was in the crate. I picked up a large (12”x12”?) object from the bookcase next to the crate. He would have attacked me if he could have.
It happened so suddenly. It didn’t scare me since I knew he was in the crate. I’m not sure if I startled him or if my picking up a large object triggered him.
He needs more exercise.

Subject: Lost Dog from Atlanta – re JudahThis is Soldier the dog lost in Atlanta whose owner thinks could be Judah. I do not think it is him at all. She did go to our web site and knows this dog was picked up in AL but she is certain that he was abducted when he went into her neighbor’s yard after a tree fell on their common fence and he got out of her gate. It had snowed that day, Jan. 17th, and there were car tire tracks leading up to the gate and his tracks to the car. So, maybe he was abducted. Still – the photos she sent me of him are above – best she has. She sent a fax of the abduction notice she posted in her neighborhood and she said she contacted every vet’s office and every shelter in the Atlanta/Cobb Co./Cherokee Co. She said her daughter posted on their Nextdoor Neighborhood page and I’ve asked for her daughter to send me the photos she used for that, but so far nothing.
I asked about her dog’s ear set because in the photos she sent, he’s got fly-away ears and Judah has great ears. Judah appears to have a bit of white on his chest, Soldier does not. Judah lifts his paw to shake hands, Soldier does not.
I plan to talk to her again today and tell her this is not the same dog. But, if she insists on meeting him, I’ll have to depend on you, Bay, to set that up with Molly. As far as I’m concerned, the woman can drive to Nashville. We will not ask Molly to drive to her or meet her in the middle. I’ve told the woman we have $644 in medical charges on him (some of that was for boarding ?), but I also told her if he is her dog, we want her to have him.
I’ll let you know what happens today, but wanted you to have all this info readily available.
January 17th – He was stolen. Tracks in the snow. He was in her neighbor’s yard. She let him out at 11:30 a.m. Soldier went into her yard. Then in a minute Soldier was gone. Karen’s gate was open and she heard him bark and she went out and he was gone. Checked shelters in Cobb and Cherokee.

Subject: Re: Pictures of SoldierHi, Britt. Thanks for sending those. Soldier is a beautiful dog. But, I feel certain that Judah is not Soldier. I’m enclosing a video and a couple of other photos. 1-Judah has white on his chest; 2-he automatically raises his paw (either one) each time he sits; 3-his ears do not skew to the outside like Soldier’s. He has great ear-set; 4-he’s much leaner than Soldier looks in the photo where he’s standing up on his hind legs with the young woman; and 5-he does not respond to the name Soldier.
Judah is a very anxious dog who barks and whines a lot. He has attacked the foster mom’s senior Airedale female over a toy when they were playing outside, so he’s pretty aggressive toward other dogs.
I understand your mother’s anguish; it is a very sad situation. I wish we could help. If she would like to apply to adopt, we would welcome her.
