Hi Jackie! Flooding all around us, but I have not been personally affected. Expect for a terrible case of cabin fever. Waiting for the sun to shine.
I had my knee surgery April 30 and getting around pretty well now, although not driving yet. Keep me on your list and by this fall I should be able to think about a dog again.
Hope all is well with you, yours and the doggies – Sara-

Subject: ARG Home VisitHi Jackie,
I wasn’t sure if you were aware of the Garveys’ changing/postponing their minds about adopting right now. This is the email I received yesterday from them:

Hi Caryn,
Thank you for contacting us but we’re going to hold off on a rescue for a while. We have decided to go ahead with some house renovations and when completed we are going to plan an extended trip.
If we have changes to our plans I will get back in touch with you. I suspect we won’t want to be Airedaleless for too long.
Regards.

Subject: Re: VetI am happy to report that Maggie is healthy and happy. They had a dog in isolation so they were unable to let us come in the back. Needless to say I was nervous to begin with but I was really nervous when they told me that. But, and maybe Maggie could sense I was nervous and she just calmed right down. I made her sit in between each door and we sat in the far back of the lobby. I put her in the down stay position and she just sat there the whole time. When they called us in we walked by a German Shepard, a small dotson, and a Husky and she didnt even pay them no mind. I was very proud of her, she is just progressing so fast shes surprising me. Maggie weighed 70 pounds and we got her heartworm meds and ear cleaner. Hope you all have a great long weekend and a happy Memorial Day you all deserve it. Cindy we’ll talk tomorrow at 4.

This is a good plan. This could also be a good opportunity to practice with the transitional leash and getting her to sit and wait at the back door.
Are still on for the call Saturday. We could talk about how you determine whether she is actually relaxed vs. just in a sit position with the leash.

Im gonna ask them to let me bring her through the back door and just wait in the truck until theyre ready. Maggie is doing great but this will be overload I think, so just being precautious. We enrolled her into a Well Being Health Insurance plan that provides basic well being care and dental.

May 24, 2018 at 2:29 pm in reply to: Private: Maggie, 4-1/2 yo Airedale, Florence, SC with Cindy Green #1941905/20/18: Maggie was adopted by Nathaniel & Emily Williamson of Culloden, WV, referred by Cathy Biersack.
05/24/18: Maggie is adjusting well and is happy and playing!
05/23/18: JMC met River and owners and Tracey & Rob Haynes at Audubon Park on 05/22/18. Tracey & Rob brought Cooper, their Aire-Doodle, about 90 lbs. River is a petite Aire-girl. If I didn’t know that she came from Lawrence Alexander, a well-known and -respected Airedale breeder, I would think she’s a large Welsh. She’s about 40 lbs.
She and Cooper got along fine, with both wanting to play. They walked well together. Cooper tried to mount her a couple of times. River went home with Rob & Tracey for them to make a decision. I believe they were very hesitant because of her age – 6 – when they wanted one much younger, but they have the option of not keeping her.
I don’t think we’ll have any problem placing her if they decide against her.

I emailed you back in December looking for a behaviorist. We recently had to give our dog Olivia back to adoptagoldenatlanta b/c her aggression toward me was not getting any better despite medicine and expert advice.
Later this summer we will want to rescue a new dog. I filled out an application in October for an Airedale. I hope it is still current.
If an Airedale comes available, you are welcome to contact me. We are looking for a dog that is a young adult (1-4 years old) and housebroken. My wife and I have a 7 year old daughter who loves dogs and treats them well.
Thanks,
Josh Azriel
05/16/18 From Molly:
Pushed a Judah button this afternoon. He was in the crate. I picked up a large (12”x12”?) object from the bookcase next to the crate. He would have attacked me if he could have.
It happened so suddenly. It didn’t scare me since I knew he was in the crate. I’m not sure if I startled him or if my picking up a large object triggered him.
He needs more exercise.
