Catherine
my partner in crime in rescue, Barbara Yager is going to be the person who will be the payer for the vet visit.
I have a christening at noon. Probably at the time that you would be done with the appointment.
Barbaras # is 803-547-2829
Barbara will call Sea Island Animal Hospital and tell them that she is the one to call at the end of appt but you should have her # too.
Barbara, The dogs name is Thomas. He is listed under Catherine’s name for the 11:30 appointment as Thomas Thomas.
After he goes to Sea Island, he will go to Beaufort Dog. they’re open until 6:00.
Catherine, I’ll talk to you again today – either before or after the appointment. Yes, one of the reasons that i was up at 4am was that i had company coming in for this Christening so its busy weekend
Thank you so much for your help and for seeking us out!
Hi Christina,
I sent a brief response to you from work earlier today. I’m happy to visit him if it can wait until Saturday – I work near Shelter Cove Mall on Hilton Head Island, and from there it would be about an hour’s drive to Beaufort Dog; I don’t think I could make it there during the hours they are open tomorrow or Thursday (I am catching up from being out of the office last week). There’s a slight possibility I could get there late Friday just before they close, but definitely can get there Saturday AM.
Usually Dave comes here (Bluffton) on Friday evenings; occasionally I go to NC instead, but we stay at Holly’s house and bring Jake with us. I’ll also discuss the possibility of fostering with Dave this weekend; there’s still some uncertainty as to whether we will stay here or move to NC.
Let me know if Saturday is soon enough to visit him.
Thanks,
Mary

June 23, 2012 at 3:04 pm in reply to: Private: Alistair in Brunswick GA shelter Airedale Golden mix #12740I don’t know what Ms Zimmerman’s status is as far as is she a rescue. Of course we won’t take $$, but I have no problem with her finding him a home, even if as an outside dog. We already have posted him as a mix on our site. Someone may come along, and if he is in ATL area and farm family want him to be more of a house dog, then great.
I don’t know why this dog is viewed as pure, even by our Cyn, when very clearly he is a mix.
NCAR Lori Nelson replied to my FB message that we were aware and had offered to assist w/ transport with Thank you.

I forwarded this message to Barbara Yager, who writes the checks. We generally call in our CC# to the vet where a dog is seen, not ahead of time. The check for HW and flea/tick expenses was to be sent to you directly. Bay will have to confirm.
Oh, it sounds like she is truly blossoming under your care. I love that she and one of your flat-coat boys are forming a special friendship. We haven’t had a lot of interest expressed, sometimes age puts people off (ignorant, in my opinion). Christina or I will amend our site description to indicate how she is coming into her own.
Remember Zeus, who was at Cyn’s at the same time as Maddie? He is now Ziggy, and having a wonderful time with his new family, charming everyone he meets. They just posted a photo or three on our FB page, and you would not believe it is the same dog.

Subject: Transport of a young female from Daleville AL
Hi Jim and Ardith
We have a stray girl in Daleville AL who needs to move north. She was probably abandoned
on the service base near by. She is sweet and gets along with a small terrier and Great Dane.
She is good in the house; house trained and good with the foster mom’s kids from 3 up.
At this point she needs to be seen by a vet, vaccinated, and checked for a spay scar. But I am wondering if
you are interested in fostering her, getting her to the vet and evaluating her for your family.
Please let me know if this is something you would consider

His day goes like this
Savannah – departs at 9:30 from airport with James.
(Pat L will go and get him in AM at kennel and drive him to Airport)
Macon – arrives in Macon at 11:00
Suzanne will pick up in Macon and drive back to Griffin , GA area
I expect him to leave airport at 11:30 and for them to be in Griffin at 12:30

Subject: Alistair in Brunswick update from Pat
1. He is a very happy dog
2, strong
3, underweight ( paper work says 46)–needs 15+at least
4, I figured out he is a Airedale/golden–the lady there said –maybe–later we found it on the vet paper work too–I brushed him while waiting for the paper work. Brushed tons of hair out (oh does he need a bath) half a trash can full. let me brush him and wagging his tail. hair thin , dull and straight, need good food and vitamins. think he will shed, but maybe his wire coat will help not be to bad–he was just a mess now
5. face is a goldens face ,soft brown eyes ; but does have beard hair
6. hesitant to get in to car, but I put his feet in and he got in , went right to sleep. excellent in car.
7 Have not heard it, but has a deep bark
8. long legged , just underweight–will be a big dog–great energy—will sit for treats–took my treat with a genital mouth HE IS NOT AGGRESSIVE–just a big guy
9.had all shot and they did a bordetella for me before I left I got him a microchip also, my treat, for his new life.
his new owner needs room and must take him for long walked and dog park; he will not be a couch potato dog
they say he is 5 yrs old—but I would not have guessed that unless you look at his “maleness”
will jump up on you; but not a full body thrust; just a HI up there kind of jump–I did not let him jump on me; but watched the staff
A good bath and lots of food , throw in some training and he will be a great dog–he is already very happy with a constant wagging tail.

Hi here is today’s update.
I’ve found a volunteer in Savannah who can pick up the dog tomorrow. I have no where to stash him
until transport to you can be arranged. I’ll keep you up to date tomorrow.
Thanks.
